The hotel grounds and pool area were beautiful, and our suite was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant food was really nice and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was also enjoyable, although a little more variety would be nice. A special mention to Layla at breakfast, who was very attentive and always made sure we were okay. The porters were also extremely helpful and a real asset to the hotel.
The main downside was the pool service. Some of the staff were difficult to approach and it was often hard to get their attention. It also felt like a lot of the focus was on outside guests rather than hotel guests. I didn’t think it was fair that paying hotel guests had to pay the same additional prices for certain sunbeds and the VIP area, especially as VIP guests could have food brought to their sunbeds while we couldn’t.
The suite was spacious and comfortable, but the decor felt quite plain compared with the high standard of the outside areas. I also found the rule that outside food and drink can’t be brought into the hotel quite unusual.

I messaged hotel before to ask if my son and I could have 2 single beds but on arrival it was double so neither of us slept much. Next morning I asked again if we could have 2 singles so they separated the double bed into 2 singles. It wasn't obvious this could be done when you looked at the double otherwise I would have done it. Still unsure why they didn't do it for our first night. The pool and view over Tirana is nice but we were there during weekend when the place is taken over by mafioso hipsters and their chicks smoking, boozing, posing, displaying their black pose-mobiles around the hotel entrance, creating an unfriendly atmosphere but which I guess they think is extremely cool. These folk are mainly day-trippers. Loud beat music is blasted all weekend to create a "party atmosphere" during pool opening hours - we were warned so not unexpected. Means you cannot chat without yelling. Luckily there are a few restaurants within walking distance which are authentic and have pleasant staff so you can escape in case the above is not your scene. All switches in our room were digital and a previous occupant must have got so hacked off with them that they had pulled the whole bed-side control out of the wall and this had not been repaired so kept falling out with wires exposed at the back of it. The hotel considers itself 5 star so I would expect drinking water freely available in plenty of locations and in unrestricted amounts which it isn't but then they are probably hoping you'll survive on purchased drinks from the bar during your stay. Waiter service for dinner was slow and inattentive, unfriendly. I think there is low morale in most of the staff although the lady at reception was helpful despite speaking unnecessarily fast with hotel info on arrival in a slightly robotic way, tired of giving the same info to endless guests.
Lots of signs about connection with nature but you can see the hotel doesn't care about nature/environment as there's lots of junk deposited around the hotel in places they hope you don't see.
