The apartment met our expectations and was right in the heart of Alfama. However, we found the area itself difficult to navigate even using Google Maps. Be sure to plan your days in advance with lots of time to make it to your planned destinations!
Isobel, acting for the owners, made a point of meeting us to let us in earlier than the dsignated check in which was wondeful. She was very responsive to any questions we had. Thank you!

Great location! Super cute. We were greeted right when we got out of the bolt and was able to check in 2 hours early. Provided a through orientation to apartment,restaurant, and city. Our only suggestion is it was hot and so a fan for each room would be wonderful! Definately stay here!

absolute perfect place to discover Lisboa

There was a lot that was disappointing about this apartment. You are provided the bare minimum, not even a whole paper towel roll and three tiny toilet paper rolls (for the whole week) in which when we asked for a refill we were told to buy it ourselves. The oven didn't work, which was the biggest disappointment as we got the place based on the kitchen and size which I'm skeptical it is 650 sq feet as it was very cramped. It smelt like sewage in the apartment and cigarettes. We were asked to take out the trash but not provided trash bags and although I left the apartment spotless I found it insulting to be asked to clean when we are paying a cleaning fee. I think the apartment is overpriced. We didn't have the support we needed and communication was lacking. The walls are also very thin; you can hear the surrounding apartments very clearly. The best part about this place is the location. Overall, I cannot recommend this place nor would I stay here again.

Charming flat, well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent welcome and communication with lovely hosts. So close to many sights, museums and excellent restaurants and Fada venues. Well serviced by trams and buses and taxis. We walked everywhere and got a good work out on the hills each day!
Really enjoyed our visit, hope to return again.

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment for 5 nights. Can you say location location location. Apartment is small but we didn’t spend much time inside Well equipped with a coffee pot and provided coffee and sugar. We did use the wine glasses. This is in a very old building with steep stairs leading to the apartment which added to the old world charm. Plenty of restaurants near by and steps from the #28 trolly.

Host’s proxy was 1/2 hour late to let us in. She sent a text message, though we had clearly explained that we had no mobile phone. Very steep, dark, dank-smelling staircase to get to the apartment. TV and fan would have been more useful in the bedroom.than in the hallway leading to the extremely cramped, tiny bathroom. TV did have good English, as well as Portuguese, channels. Bed was comfortable. Didn’t use the kitchen much, but the coffee maker was a plus. Did not think it appropriate to expect the guests to empty/carry down the garbage at the end of their stay.

The apartment was was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Carmelita was very friendly and informative and helped us out when we were in a predicament. Thank you! In a wonderful area in the Alfama area of Lisbon. Right beside St George Castle!!!

Lovely little apartment in heart of Lisbon
The apartment was perfectly placed for our week of exploring the city, surrounded by interesting landmarks, and good restaurants. The apartment itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for my husband baby daughter and I. Great communication and friendly service from the owners who also organised us an airport transfer and Luis our contact who met us on arrival. We had a lovely stay would highly recommend ****

Brilliant location
Full of character from the outside with all the comforts of home on the inside, for a short break it was the perfect place, and myself and my son really enjoyed our stay. It was also quite satisfying that when we stood out on the balcony, we observed the envious glances of fellow tourists looking at us as they passed by. The property is close to the main must see sights and amenities, with public transport near by, but we also found the best way to see Alfama was to walk around and were delighted to find something of interest on practically every corner. A return visit is a must.....

Beautiful vacation
We had a great time in Lisbon. This apartment is conveniently located and it is as beautiful as it is in the pictures. They were available to meet us and answered any questions necessary. I would definitely rent this apartment again when I go back to Lisbon. The only small negatives are that it is a one floor steep narrow stair case. However if you are going to Lisbon be prepared to walk up steep hills anyway. Also the second bed is not as comfortable as the main bed. They also have the Oprego restaurant around the corner that had the best pasties de natas we tried.

The apartment is clean, light, well equipped and perfect for a short stay. We were able to cook a meal, (thank you for the wine!) and found the emergency medical supplies in the bathroom very useful (unfortunately!) The bathroom is the most roomy I have come across so far, with a cute little porthole for ventilation. The beds are firm and comfortable, and the street is quiet in the evenings, even though the apartment is close to shops and restaurants. The information book (and Luís) gave plenty of information and recommendations which were very useful, and we ate out several times using the suggestions, and each time we were very happy with our choice.
We struggled a bit with the doors, but Luís was at the end of the phone to guide us through our problems.(Are we the only people who turn the key the wrong way? Street door towards the lock, apartment door away from the lock)
I think more warning should be given about the very steep stairs to the property, and the difficulty in the evenings when the stairs have no lights (we are 72 and 68), but overall, we would be happy to return to Lisbon and this apartment.

Lisbon is a wonderful city with friendly people and fabulous food. For modern art enthusiasts the Estação Oriente designed by Calatrava is not to be missed.
The apartment is comfortable with two bedrooms located in Alfama. It was thoughtfully stocked with basic amenities coffe,water etc which we really appreciated. Luis was there to meet us and gave us helpful suggestions of things to do and places to eat.
The neighborhood is interesting to walk in taking you back to an earlier time with churches,the sea and the Castello nearby.
Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. The location is perfect.

This apartment is in a great position for access to the Castle and the City. The surrounding restaurants were all great and we loved the local feel to the area.

We were happy every day to return to this cheery flat! We saw no other place that we felt came anywhere close to being as good, and in fact, received many wistful glances when at “our” balcony. A tourist took my picture while I was hanging some clothes on the line ;) Antonio was wonderful and very responsive. He was so gracious letting us check in early, giving us so many tips and information—even a lovely bottle of wine which we enjoyed very much. Also arranging a very early morning cab on the day of our departure. Louis was delightful and friendly and we appreciated the reliable ride for our early flight. Thank you Antonio for sharing what was your grandfathers house, and being the perfect host. We followed as many of your suggestions as time would allow, especially enjoying O Prego restaurant just down the way, Belém, many Pastel de nata, and the Castle of Sao Jorge (so close!) Everything seemed so doable from this neighborhood, and we loved calling it our own. We made good use of the trams, metro, train (to nearby Sintra), elevators, and of course our feet! We loved Lisbon and already want to come back. Thanks again for making our visit so enjoyable! Jane, Joe & Joseph

Our stay went very well at António and Fabíolas apartment. The location was great, with in walking distance of trams and buses, as well as other attractions. It was also on a quiet street wich was nice at night. Luis greeted us, and let us in a little earlier than expected after our flight arrived an hour earlier than planned. Luis was very nice and did a great job of explaining the apartments working and pointers for the surrounding area. Over all a nice stay.

He arranged for our luggage to be taken care of by a local vegetable seller on the day we were leaving (our flight was late afternoon and the apartment had to be vacated in the morning) so we could enjoy our last day in Lisbon.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a central location with a friendly and knowledgeable landlord.
