About this cottage rental
Nyumbani is a traditional single storey Skye cottage situated in its own wrap around gardens overlooking beautiful Loch Harport on the stunning west coast of the Isle of Skye. Nyumbani mean 'our home', in Swahili, and this aptly describes this attractive cottage, with its homely lounge/dining room with open fire, deep leather sofas, family sized kitchen and 3 generously proportioned bedrooms. There is a lovely conservatory that provides a second lounge area, with large flat screen TV and DVD. Doors open onto the fully enclosed gardens that surround the property. Bed linen & towels provided.

The House was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed, the kitchen is well equiped, even though the drawers seem to fall apart…Also the bathroom looks like it needs some repairs, they put up a dehumidifyer, because for example there is the caulking missing around the tub.Still we were happy with our stay and all the questions we had got answered quickly by the host.

The location was fantastic, with great views, tucked away and quiet, but still close enough to drive to places in Isle of Skye easily. The road up is quite narrow, and lots of potholes (at time of writing), so best to drive up first time in the day. The accommodation was spacious, with plenty of beds and living areas.Everything else was just ok, not great, but functional. The property is in need of some TLC, repairs and updating, which I think will help improve it in the future. Things like doors coming off cupboards, barely any usable curtains in the TV room, bath not functional (at time of writing), instructions writing on walls (instead of having a guidebook or set of instructions). I think updating the furniture and decor would go a long way too.Overall this accommodation location/view and size is fantastic, and has a lot of potential, but fell a bit short for me.
