Thoroughly enjoyed the old colonial building. Dining in the covered courtyard was excellent. Tasteful, well presented meals, friendly staff. Many of the dining patrons were local families, as well as foreigners. Especially enjoyed our balcony view of the pedestrian street below and the views of the nearby churches and El Popo from the roof garden. Located in the colonial part of town just a block from the Zocalo and Cathedral. Nearby El Parián artisan markets and the artists colony were fun to browse., as well as the small vendors set up in the street below for the Day of the Virgin de Guadalupe. Our gracious host Gerardo spoke English better than our Spanish and was a great help. I stayed there with my family in the '60's, and look forward to staying again in the hopefully not too distant future. Am sharing an old family photo, balcony view from 1948, same intersection as our balcony photo, now with trees.
There wasn't much napping done while the Virgin de Guadalupe booths were active below. Still worth the balcony view, and things settled down by evening.

Lively colonial building as if it were once a monastery.. kind staff
Terrible wifi !! A hardship in today’s world of cancelled flights due to covid
And only 3 Spanish channels… think it’s time to update technology
