Great stay

Ivan, Yusef and Edita were all so attentive and nice. The location was also great. I will definitely come back to Cardo hotel next time.

Perfect location to explore the old town, matched by the courteous, helpful and friendly staff.

Superb breakfast, good variety on offer served in a pretty courtyard by a lovely, friendly, courteous waitress.

Would book again in a heartbeat

Could not ask for a better location, service or accommodation. Edita, Ivan, Leo and both Josephs treated us with wonderful hospitality. Edita and Ivan went above and beyond to ensure our time in Split was perfect. This boutique hotel has only 5 rooms, which allows for the staff to provide such exceptional service. From dinner reservations to car rentals and everything in between, they made our stay so special and memorable. The location is perfect! Breakfast is wonderful and there are many options from which to choose. Our room was lovely and had a very comfortable bed. Highly recommend this hotel and we hope to be back soon. Thank you again to Edita and Ivan for making us feel so welcome!

Exceptional

Everything was spectacular. Ivan carried out heavy luggages in and out the hotel. Edita the receptionist was just awesome, kind and helpful. I miss Croatia and this hotel already. I would definitely recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back.

A real treat!

The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They assisted us with tour booking, advised on the best beaches to visit and helped with dinner reservations. The bed was really comfortable. Bathroom beautifully fitted. Breakfast in the adjoining courtyard was delicious too and the staff also extremely attentive.

We had the smallest room and found ourselves a bit short of space for storing cases and clothes. (Our stay was only 4 nights but part of a bigger trip so we had big cases). This is the only reason we've not given 5* on value for money. However, the compromise was having the best view as our room spanned Cardo Street with a unique view of the Roman Forum.

Exceptional staff and a perfect location

The staff make this hotel absolutely top notch. Ivan the manager was just incredible. Met us personally at the drop off point when we arrived and carried our bags for us to the hotel (in 95 degree heat). I offered to help but he absolutely insisted on doing it for us. Further he arranged dinner for us every night (we had tentative reservations, but he recommended other places), and his recommendations were incredible, couldn’t have been happier. He also helped arrange a walking tour, boat tour, and car service — he really took care of it all. The location of the hotel is what it’s all about as well. Right in the center of Old Town, really 1-2 minute walk from everything. If (and when) we come back, we will be staying there again!

Nice stay but not as expected

There is a serious problem on the way the situation is explain , they are calling the palazzo but actually it s an old city where you can still see the walls from the romain empire and some other ruins but there is not palace and by telling on the description that it is part of the palace . It is right but you expect more of the cinary

Right in the heart of Split

The location was perfect, right by the Palace. The room was comfy and well decorated. The reception is open 24/7 and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Parking is always tricky being so central in Split but this hotel does offer parking at an additional cost at a nearby parking lot. Considering how expensive the rooms are, it wouldn't be unreasonable to offer free parking to their guests.

Amazing

Everything . I was met by Ivan from my airport taxi just outside the city walls and then warmly welcomed by Edita who did absolutely everything she could to make my stay perfect. I was only staying one night as I was booked on a cruise the next day . Edita escorted me to breakfast at a super restaurant around the corner that they gave an arrangement with for providing breakfast . This was quite a stunning board full of cheeses and prosciuttos and fruits and salad and warm bread with butter and honey and jams and then the waiter said “next the eggs “!! Ivan then very kindly accompanied me to my ship carrying/ wheeling my luggage right up to the gangplank . Days after the cruise started I was amused to learn that I had caused quite a stir amongst the other other waiting passengers for rolling up with a such handsome young man to handle my bags 😂😂. Staying at the Cardo hotel was a lovely way therefore to start my holiday and particularly appreciated as a single female traveller .

Exceptional

Fantastic small luxury hotel in centre of Split old town . Was extremely well cared for by friendly attentive staff for whom nothing was too much trouble from carrying luggage to and from the taxi to arranging trips and dinner reservations as well as helpful suggestions on what to see and do . My room was beautifully furnished and finished to an incredible degree of detail in keeping with it being a part of the original Diocletian palace . As a solo traveller it felt really reassuring to be given such a level of care and I know that if I had run into any problems I would only have needed to call them . On my last day I forgot my phone in the hotel which I only realised when I got in the taxi on the outside of the palace walls . Ivan - the manager- who had already kindly carried my luggage to the taxi from the hotel (which is inside the palace walls so no car can enter that area ) then ran back to the hotel to get it for me . I will definitely plan to return to this hotel one day .

I have already booked a stay for next year. Who doesn't love a vacation in a Castle?

The staff on duty, either Edita or Dom, escorted me around the corner for a delicious breakfast with a little taverna with whom they have a connection. Breakfast was bespoke. They asked me what I wanted and it appeared! Fresh fruit of various kinds, poached egg on toast with avocado. I cannot speak higher of the staff, Edita and Dom, who went out of their way to treat me as if I were a member of the family. I was invited for a drink, and when I wanted to go somewhere, they showed me on the map how to get there, as the palace is a bit confusing. Each dinner reservation was better than the previous one, and I found their help just wonderful. The room was spectacular, and the wall of the bathroom was from the 4th century! Every possible amenity was provided to me. From the hand-painted ceilings, to the Murano light fixtures, to the antiques, attention had been made to detail.

I wish the towels were higher quality, or perhaps they were a bit stiff from drying on a clothes line. I have better ones at home. These were adequate, and plenty of them, of course, but to give this hotel 100%, I would improve the towels.

Spectacular

Ivan, Dom, and Ideta made us feel completely at home. They had many good recommendations and helped us book amazing restaurants for the days that we were there. They even helped us find a place to park our massive car. The room was spectacular and right in the center of the city. The breakfast was also delicious. Most importantly the customer service was more than amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Amazing!

We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Cardo in Split. Every staff member we encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! The beautiful hotel is right in the Heart of the old town and near the harbour. All the nice restaurants and bars are directly around the corner. Thank you very much! We definitely will recommend it to our friends and family!

Must stay!!!

This hotel was recommended by a well traveled friend and it was truly amazing! Beautiful hotel with rich history in the center of it all! But most importantly the staff was the best. Especially the manager Ivan. He was our hero! We had no plans for the week and he worked so hard to make all of our arrangements and travel accommodations for our boats, tours, other hotels! He made our trip perfect and we our so deeply grateful! We will come back and also tell all our friends to visit this hotel, mainly because Ivan was just the best!

Extraordinary service in a truly amazing hotel

It was in a dream like location in the palace- truly amazing ! Really comfy beds, everything you would ever want or need… But it is the incredible service that really sets it Apart. We had bikes with us and despite it being a real faff they were just amazing ! All in all perhaps best place ever stayed

A necessity to stay at Hotel Cardo

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing the hotel and staff were to us on our trip. To start, the hotel is beautiful and clean in a perfect location right in the center of the palace. However, the staff made everything extraordinary for my husband and I. We came to Croatia for our honeymoon and truly had the most unforgettable experience thanks to Ivan and his staff. Ivan set up a car for us to be transported from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived, due to a delayed flight we were very hungry. They immediately set us up at a restaurant close by called Leonis that was spectacular. The next day Ivan and his staff set up a historic walking tour for us and dinner reservations at Bokeria. The walking tour was beautiful and informative. The history behind the palace was incredible to learn about. We absolutely loved Bokeria which was located in the palace just a few minutes walking from the hotel. The next day Ivan set up a car to take us to KRKA National Forest to see the waterfalls followed by a private lunch and wine tasting at Vizzulin. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience for us as the family at the winery curated a delicious farm-to-table meal and wine with their family. When we got back to the hotel, my husband and I both got relaxing massages in our room before dinner at Nikola. The dinner at Nikola, also coordinated by Ivan, was outstanding! Nikola is passionate about his work and prepares beautifully fresh meals. This day in total was one we will never forget and owe our entire gratitude to everyone at Hotel Cardo. Leaving the next day to Hvar, Ivan guided us to our boat and wished us well. If I could have one recommendation to anyone who chooses to stay here- trust Ivan. We trusted Ivan with every decision and were blown away with each experience. We could not have the memories we created on our honeymoon without Hotel Cardo. We are forever grateful and will undoubtedly stay at Hotel Cardo on our next trip to Split.
