Proximity to where I needed to be. Room was lovely, everything was clean and bed was super comfortable. When we did see staff they were lovely.
This is a good and bad thing. The front door is locked and I had to call the hotel as no one was there. However once you have your key you can come and go as you please. Good because it’s secure and I felt safe however loses one point as I had to phone twice at one point I was told they weren’t aware of my booking - I briefly panicked as I thought the hotel was closed then I thought my booking was lost. Panic over - it was a lovely stay. Everything was fab apart from that brief moment of panic

Well refurbished internally to a very good standard. Very welcoming staff.
TV in room not connected so had to be changed. No plug near kettle so had to plug it in on the floor in the corner. Shower door broken so water leaked out onto floor. No bathroom mat to step out onto which made matters worse. Had to mop up the water with loo roll. Shower head spraying out water everywhere so had to screw it back together. Just enough loo roll and no spare roll in room. Pair of old sunglasses found between bed and wall. Dust in room. Nobody on reception on departure.
