Nestled in Sintra, this charming villa for $320 per night is a great option for your next break. The property consists of 1.050 m2 gardens, with a swimming pool (7x4m) a barbecue area, very sheltered sunny location, various terraces including a roof terrace with fantastic views of Sintra hills. The villa (150 m2) consists of 4 bedrooms - 1 en suite; and a children’s bedroom that sleeps 3. A large kitchen with breakfast area, a living room with dining room area, has a separate laundry room. Secure parking on the drive with space for 3 cars. It is located only 5 minutes from the local village of Colares, where you find coffee shops restaurants and food stores. Only few minutes away you have famous beaches like Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande and Praia da Adraga. Nature lovers can enjoy long walks in the area. These villages are situated amongst pleasant woods in the heart of Sintra Cascais Natural Park, surrounded by a natural reserve park. It borders the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra and provides easy access to gorgeous walks in forest and the coastal areas. Colares is situated on the southwest side of Sintra on the Atlantic coast. The village of Colares is absolutely delightful and has long been a very popular summer resort. Colares is a wine region (DOC), the ramisco vines are some of the oldest in Portugal, known for its deep colour, full bodied red wines that are high in astringent tannins and can be tasted at the Adega Regional in a very beautiful building in the village. The houses and imposing farms all around Colares affirm this wonderful relation with wine and its production. Colares has mild winters, an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot, the autumn is ideal too, is like a second spring. One of the main attractions is the tramcar with a lovely journey that starts in Sintra (in Estefânia, next to the Sintra’s modern art museum), has a stop in Colares and ends in Maçãs Beach. Praia das Maças “Apples Beach” The beach is about 250m wide, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, in this village there’s a daily market place for fruit and vegetables, also a fish market Next to the beach there is a swimming pool with ocean’s water, a children’s park and space for picnics. The beach has also good facilities for sport fishing, on both sides of the sandy area. Another closest village is Almoçageme at 4km; here you find a rustic village with all of the typical narrowed streets, here you find coffee shops restaurants and food stores. Every Thursday morning there’s a farmer’s market, Saturday and Sunday all day. The village is spread up the hill from the Atlantic Ocean. Adraga beach, was ranked as one of the 20 perfect European beaches’ by the Sunday Times.

This property exceeded our expectations and is clearly very well maintained by the owners. There was a minor problem with the tv and they could not have been more helpful. The house is spacious and spotless, while the garden and pool area is lovely, with sun on the pool all day. As our title suggests, Colares is an excellent base, being close to both the coast and historic sites and an easy train ride from Lisbon. We have recommended it to friends and family and would not hesitate to stay here again. Also thanks to Mafalda, we really enjoyed meeting you!

The villa and it's location suited us perfectly. The pool area is every bit as lovely as the photos and the interior of the villa was even better then we expected. Everything was spotlessly clean, communication with the host was extremely straight-forward and she was very welcoming and helpful.
For anyone wanting to explore the Sintra national forest and it's attractions, the nearby Atlantic coast, or take a day trip into Lisbon, the location is ideal.

The property was really nice and big. Mafalda was great and verify attentive to all our needs and very helpful with groceries, restaurants, etc. Nice size bedrooms, comfy beds and washrooms were good. Pool area was nice with shower and washroom. Nice big laundry room and playroom if you have kids. Automatic gate was great addition. Big kitchen equipped with everything you need. Only downside was the only condiment provided was salt so we had to go buy pepper, sugar, oil, etc.

We had a great stay in Colares. The house, gardens and pool were immaculate, communication with Mafalda excellent and the pool is in the sun all day which is a bonus. The supermarket is an easy walk and we found a craft beer bar called Hopsin next door which did great tapas.

We stayed here as 2 families with 4 children aged 9-14 and it was fab! Exceptionally clean and well equipped and Mafalda was lovely and helpful. We didn’t hire a car but the supermarket nearby was very well equipped and close enough for one or 2 visits per day. Also near easy bus routes to get to beaches and into Sintra so a car wasn’t required. The pool was a perfect size and the outdoor space was great. The photos don’t do it justice.

Really a beautiful place .. better than the pictures.
We had a large 7-person van which was a bit too large for the area and property. If we'd had a normal sized vehicle it would have been absolutely perfect.

The property is lovely with many amenities. Mafalda is a very responsive property manager. The home is spacious and well equipped. The pool and backyard are fabulous for relaxing. While the on-site laundry facilities were greatly appreciated the length of washing (2-3 hours)and drying time (2-4 hours to overnight)is prohibitively long. This maybe normal based on the humidity here. The in room air conditioners work well and help to allay the mild damp feeling. Again this maybe normal for this area. The little village located a mere 5 minutes away is very quaint and the small but well stocked market is perfect.
It is in a great location to visit the well known castles in the area. Make sure to look up taking the train from Sintra to Lisbon. It will save you a lot of time and traffic headache.
Make sure to visit the small coastal village of Azhena do Mar. Only 15 minutes a way. The waterfront restaurant is unbelievable and the views breathtaking.

Fabulous villa. Photos don’t do it justice. So we’ll equipped, spotlessly clean, great outdoor space. Mafalda was so helpful with check in and check out. Weather a little disappointing but nothing you can do about that. Would love to return one day.

A beautiful property in a stunning location. This property is perfect for a family holiday, great facilities and in immaculate condition. It is less than 10 mins walk to the village with shop, bakery, restaurants and great public transport. We had a wonderful holiday at this property and highly recommend it.

Lovely property for a large family group
Everything about this property was great for a large family group. Spotlessly clean, and plenty of room to spread out. It is in a very convenient location, with shops etc. in walking distance and many places of tourist interest a short drive away. There is good attention to housekeeping and pool maintenance. Mafalda, who runs the property was a joy to meet and her excellent English made communication very straightforward.

Beautiful property in a quiet location with stunning views all around, immaculately clean, every facility you require even pool toys/rings etc for the children. Very comfy beds!
Only slight improvement would be the information on the immediate local area, we had to navigate our own way around the local cafes/bars using a review app.

Foram uns dias tranquilos passados em família. A localização da casa é muito boa e o local e sossegado e tranquilo e com vista sobre Colares. A propriedade está muito bem cuidada e está conforme a descrição e fotos. Tem espaço suficiente incluindo a piscina para umas férias familiares especialmente para quem tem crianças ou adolescentes. A Mafalda foi espetacular é muito acessível e disponível a esclarecer qualquer dúvida.

Nous avons passé 15 jours fantastiques dans cette villa !
Tout d’abord nous avons été très bien accueillis par Mafalda qui nous a expliqué tout tres clairement . Elle est très sympathique et réactive ! Elle parle un excellent français et anglais !
Nous avons aussi eu un menage de mi séjour , fort appréciable !
La villa est très bien équipée les chambres sont spacieuses et la literie est très bonne. Nombreux placards. Confort moderne . Matériaux de qualité (belles portes , jolies finitions des salles de bains , placards intégrés nickels)
Moustiquaires aux fenêtres : c’est un plus !
La piscine est d’une bonne taille et bien exposée du matin jusqu’au soir.
Il y a une buanderie à part pour faire laver et sécher le linge si besoin.
On peut manger à différents endroits selon le temps ou l’envie : dans la véranda , sur une terrasse au bord de la piscine , sur une autre terrasse ou dans la salle à manger !
Seul (petit!) bemol : la taille du barbecue (un peu petit) et le parasol qui était un peu abîmé mais rien de grave !!!! De toutes façons il ne fait pas trop chaud à Colares grâce à un micro climat lié à la proximité des montagnes . On dort bien et une petite brise légère vient rafraîchir des journées un peu chaudes !
La villa est située à Colares à 300 m à pied du supérette et du centre ville . Nous n’avons manqué de rien et pas eu besoin de faire nos courses dans un grand super marché
la rue est plutôt calme dans un voisinage paisible (villas) , idéalement situé à 25 min de Lisbonne et à 10 min environ des plages .
Il y en avait pour tous les goûts ! Certains jours à la plage d’autres jours à la ville !
Ces vacances resteront un excellent souvenir ! Nous reviendrons , c’est sur !!!!

The property is exceptional - pristine, clean, well-equipped, roomy, quiet, private and with a great swimming pool. The perfect location to reach Sintra, Lisbon, the beaches and Cascais with ease. Preciosa y tranquila
Hemos pasado un fin de semana en esta casa y nos ha encantado. Amplia, limpia, moderna y no le falta detalle!! El sitio es muy tranquilo y cómodo y nuestros niños han disfrutado muchísimo de los jardines y de la piscina.
Estábamos tan agusto que ni hemos salido a ver las playas! Repetiremos en cuanto podamos!! Gracias Mafalda por todo.

This place has the "WOW" factor!
This place exceeded our expectations! There were 7 of us staying there for 5 nights! Wonderful place to come "home" to after a day out and about discovering the surrounding areas. We loved the clean swimming-pool, the terraced patio, the separate large laundry room, the studio with a shower and the main house. There is also parking inside the gate for 3 cars. The grocery store and bakery are located an easy 10 minute walk from the house. We cannot say enough good things about this "home away from home!"

Perfect base for exploring Sintra historic sites, countryside and beaches
This is a spacious, well-maintained and immaculately presented property. Well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities make it ideal for those planning a longer stay. The house is in a quiet location, but just a five minute walk from restaurants , cafe and supermarkets in Colares, and a short drive from the coast. It's also easy to get into the historic sites in Sintra (though driving in Sintra isn't easy - the bus is better!) and surrounding locations - the park and Palacio de Monserrate are very close, and wonderful to visit. Overall, strongly recommended!

The property is very well appointed and all the equipment was excellent we didn't need anything that wasn't included.
The location is very good with easy walking access to the village of Colares and the beaches and other attractions within close driving distance.

Villa neuve très bien équipée (avec draps et serviettes intérieures et extérieures) et encore mieux que les photos ! village sympa, pas très touristique mais tant mieux 😉beaucoup de choses à visiter et de superbes plages à 10 min en voiture.
Boulangerie, cafés typiques, restaurant et petit magasin à 5 min à pieds. Bref vraiment pratique, beau et logement de qualité, idéal pour vacances famille de 8.
Et personne en charge de l accueil très disponible et accueillante ! Je recommande +++++
