About this condo rental
Located in Lisbon, this attractive condo for $162 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. The apartment is located on the top floor of a restored house on the upper edge of Alfama in the historic center of Lisbon and has been renovated in 2022. The spectacular view and the characteristic atmosphere of neighborhood are fascinating. You have an view of what is happening in the streets, but also find absolute silence, if you desire. It's located on the third floor of the house and is supported by a traditional diagonal staircase, which in a straight line from the entrance to the house. The bottom two floors of the house are still in the period before the great earthquake of 1755 and was not destroyed by this. The upper two floors were built in the 19th Century. The flat is very centrally located and has all day sunshine (except, when it is cloudy ...) Further Details: The apartment has a very central location in a historic building in the heart of the old city of Lisbon. It is well developed and is on the tram line No 28. The Monastery of Sao Vicente, the Castle Hill and the streets of Alfama are a few minutes away. Go on city tours of this place of rest and enjoy the panoramic view from every window. Or stay in the apartment and enjoy the special atmosphere and the high, bright rooms. Further Information: We have a contact person who speaks English and French on site. This is a lovely holiday apartment with a great view of the city’s historic area including St George’s Castle. My family approved of this location and size of the apartment.

Beautiful view of the city. Very clean, spacious and nicely decorated apartment. Be aware that there are 50 steps to the apartment, which can be difficult with heavy luggage. However, if that is not a problem for you, then the apartment is fantastic!

Wonderful charming clean apartment let’s you experience Lisbon and feel like a local. Yes there are very steep stairs and no air conditioning but it wasn’t important to us and a lovely view from the top floor. Helpful responsive host and Paula nearby is wonderful. We highly recommend. Ideal location to walk everywhere.

Short time between reservation and confirmation, along with a response from the landlord, was excellent. He also provided very helpful information about arriving and restaurants, etc.

Una casa con solera
Elegimos la casa de Josef porque buscábamos una casa con personalidad y un estilo que nos situara en la atmósfera de la ciudad sin solución de continuidad entre las calles y las paredes domésticas. Podemos decir que conseguimos nuestro objetivo. El barrio es un encanto, hay muchas tiendas y locales para comer, está bien comunicado y también está al alcance andando si no os asusta subir la cuesta. La comunicación con el propietario fue fácil y fluida, Paula, nuestra anfitriona, fue atenta, amable y puntual en el check in. La casa tiene vistas bonitas al rio y a la ciudad y está bien equipada, es luminosa, silenciosa y a pesar de no tener calefacción no es fría. Nos han gustado mucho el mobiliario vintage y los detalles de la decoración. Sus puntos débiles, en nuestra opinión, son el olor a humedad y en particular el del desagüe del baño. Nosotros nos hemos adaptado a ellos pero creo que se les debería poner remedio porque su presencia en la casa es muy intensa. Otra cosa a tener en cuenta es que la escalera de acceso al apartamento es bastante larga y empinada y eso podría suponer una dificultad para quien tenga problemas de movilidad. En general nuestra experiencia ha sido muy buena y ha cumplido con nuestras expectativas. Muchas gracias Josef y Paula!

Charming retro apartment
This apartment is in an old building on 4th floor on corner so lots of lovely views over the city towards the port and inland. It is decorated in old fashioned style which is very charming. Has most of what you need even for a longer stay. No washing machine but hand washed items dried in a few hours on outside lines. Reasonable wifi coverage. Spacious and airy, can get breeze through rooms although no air con. You can walk from here to many of the sights or use the metro, trams, trains or buses to go a bit further afield. Lots of places to eat and drink as well as buy food close by. Prices seemed very reasonable despite the poor exchange rate. We loved it.

Great place in a great location
A charming clean apartment. The views are amazing from this apartment. It is well worth the walk up the stairs to get to the apartment. It helped walk off all the great food in Lisbon. There are lots of restaurants and bakery shops nearby. We were able to walk to all of the main tourist sights. Granted it is very hilly, but so nice to walk around in this beautiful city. The apartment has so much character with all the antiques and cheerful colors. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. There was a little street noise with the windows open, but it wasn't that bad. There was good WIFI connection. Good communication with the owner and quick responses. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

Charming, cozy and centrally located!
Loved staying at this place! The panoramic views were stunning and MANY huge windows created a much-needed cross-breeze. Didn’t even miss the AC! (Note to light sleepers: the birds are quite active in the early morning. A white-noise app will do you wonders!) The location is great - lots of things to see in the area and a short walk to tons of others. Very close to grocery, multibanco atm, restaurants and shops. Paula, the neighbor and our contact, was very nice and helpful. Would stay here again and highly recommend!

Gorgeous view!!
The apartment is so cute. It’s defintely older and there are lots of stairs (as others have mentioned). But the views are incredible and there are lots of windows and balconies to enjoy the city and the breeze.
What was surprising was how loud Alfama was at night (especially on the weekend). Locals told us it’s been changing in recent years with the influx of tourists :(
The internet was spotty except next to the router (in the kitchen).

Lovely 3-bedroom apartment in a great area.
This is a terrific apartment, centrally located, with lovely furnishings and views. The caretaker was extremely helpful, even to the point of calling us a cab for an early morning flight. We'd go back in a flash, even with the 4 flights of stairs. Thank you!

Beautiful apartment with amazing view!
As already mentioned by reviewers, the stairs leading to the apartment are quite an exercise, but the view from the windows and the tasteful decor and details of the apartment are rewarding.

Do not hesitate to rent this home. It is beautiful and in a wonderful location. It has everything needed to be comfortable. Its walkable to everywhere from the apartment. It always has a breeze running through it when you open windows. I love the view of the water, church and castle. The owner is helpful from beginning to the end. Fabulous stay
We had such a wonderful time. The layout is quirky but it added to the experience. The view was great and the place was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The lady that helped us went above the call of duty. Thanks!

Really enjoyed our stay!
We found this apartment to be in an excellent location with a great view of the city. It was in easy walking distance to several sites and a block from Tram #28. There was a nearby grocery store and bakery.
The apartment is in an older building, as it's in an older part of Lisbon, but that adds to it's character and charm. The apartment was clean and well maintained. Bring your own soap and shampoo. The stairs provided a workout when carrying a suitcase, but not a concern for us.
Paula was very helpful with providing local information and arranging a 2am taxi to the airport for us.
We would stay here again without hesitation.

LISSABON - gerne wieder!
Vielen Dank an Herrn Berwert für die vorab Infos und Hinweise per Mail, hätten uns aber für die Zeit vor Ort ein paar aktuelle Tipps zu Resto´s etc. gewünscht. Die Container für Restmüll gibt´s leider nicht mehr.
Haben in der Lago Graca ein tolles und preiswertes Lokal entdeckt ("Jardim da Graca", hat leckeren Vinho verde) und die Erfahrung gemacht, daß die Tram 12, im Gegensatz zur 28, selten voll ist. Die Aussichtsplattform auf dem Tore Vasco da Gama auf dem Expo-Gelände ist, entgegen aller Reiseführer, seit 2004 geschlossen, dagegen sollte man das Oceanario auf keinen Fall verpassen.
Empfehlenswert die CARRIS-Card für 24 Stunden a´ € 6,50, gilt für Metro, Tram, Bus und alle Aufzüge - kann man je nach Bedarf wieder aufladen.
Die Tipps vom Vermieter bzgl. des Taxis vom Flughafen zur Wohnung waren sehr hilfreich (man muß allerdings zur Wartereihe der Taxis) . Vielen, vielen Dank auch an Paula, die uns den Weg zu einem Internetcafe beschrieben hat (mußten unsere Bordkarten noch ausdrucken) und uns für die Abreise ein Taxi bestellt hat.
Es war ein toller Städteurlaub in einer wunderschönen Wohnung , Herr Berwert wir werden gern wiederkommen.
