About this house rental
Blue Horizon Vacation Rentals welcomes you to come use our massive creative space to write the next Southern Rock ballad or just soak in the atmosphere! This historic home is the childhood home of the Van Zant family, including Lynyrd Skynyrd founder Ronnie Van Zant. The epic rise to fame of the original version of Lynyrd Skynyrd was tragically cut short by a plane crash in 1977 that took Ronnie's life, and that of several other members of the band. But their music will live forever, and hopefully this house will stand as well as a living tribute to the Van Zants. Inside this main house, you'll find some cool memorabilia, a vintage 1938 Brunswick pool table, and a retro 70's feel, to remind us all of the way things were, with a hint of nostalgia. Your visit will help ensure this house forever remains a part of Rock n Roll history! See also, our other three listings at VZH - the Annex, Studio, and Hideaway. Contact us to book larger groups! Please note: if you have sensitive allergies, any of the other three units would be better for you. This is a large unit, with many nooks and crannies, and although we do our absolute best to keep it spotless, it can get musty in the summer when the ACs are off for any length of time and a very few people have had allergy issues, although 99% of guests are fine and enjoy the 60's-70's vibe!

The Van Zant house is a living memorial for fans of Ronnie Van Zant and family to enjoy. This home is not for modern conveniences and comfort. The pool table and musical instruments are a great addition. This place was exactly what I thought it would be, I enjoyed every minute!

This property is very retro which is very cool. However the owner needs to spend a little time fixing things up. The bathroom doors dont close properly. The bedroom light goes on after you flip the switch multiple times. The tv in the main bedroom is broken the bathroom in the main bedroom was marked as do not use… seemed that the chain on the flapper was just broken which is an easy fix. The pool table was awesome but of the six pool sticks only one has a tip on it. The main living room was nice and comfy. Overall a cool house and could be five stars if the owner spent a little time there.
