When you pass by you feel as if you've gone back in time to centuries long ago. Alhambra Hall is only a mile from the house. There you can have a picnic on the large grassy area that over looks the Charleston Harbor. There is also a very big playground with plenty of oak trees for shade. Just down the road you will also find the Old Pitt Street trolley bridge. There you can fish, go crabbing, have a picnic and watch the sunset over beautiful downtown Charleston. Sullivan's Island beach and restaurants are only two miles away. There is a bike path that leads over the new Ben Sawyer swing bridge. Shem Creek which is only minutes away provides you with great restaurants right on the water. Have dinner while you watch the shrimp boats come in with there daily catch. Local seafood markets are on each side of the creek. You can also rent kayaks and get amongst the dolphin and pelicans that wait for their daily dinner from the local shrimp boats.
