Fabulous waterfront cottage, large four-season home/cottage situated only 1½ hours from GTA on Mitchell lake & link with Balsam Lake without a lock. it has a breathtaking sunset Lakeview & a great snow view in the winter &colorful leaf in Autumn. in the winter right skate at lake, our private skate field by our cottage backyard. This is a large Spacious, Great Lake View,5 bedroom cottage all in one level and great for all ages family and Friends. It has 7 beds( two queens, three doubles, two sofa beds with three washrooms and 2 refrigerators 1 freezer, and central AC ) all the necessities to comfortably host 12 adults. Ideal for extended families or larger groups. free to use 5 non-power boats: 1 paddle boat, 2 kayaks, 1 canoe and a swing&slide set for kids to play too. all linen included and changes on each booked trip, fresh and nice clean through Hi-temp Dryer. A UV air disinfection work added into each room. it provides unlimited Free WiFi. smooth for watching Youtube and Netflix as well as online meetings. Large 430 ft deep level lot, great privacy and good for lots of outside activities, evening by the fire pit, games, etc. Includes dock, fire pit, outdoor furniture, BBQ, and parking up to 8 vehicles on a long driveway with a outside Camera watching it 1 large fully equipped Kitchen. We had a great stay in the cottage. Richard was very helpful to walk us through the details and was responsive throughout.
We really liked the place, it was cozy, clean - the outside propane fireplace was really good place to hangout. We were able to do some light fireworks beside the water area on new year's eve.
Would very much like to explore this place again in summer time to use the kayaks, boats and bicycles provided with the cottage.

Less private then we anticipated, but great time. Nice docks chairs, decks to hang out. Kayaks were great. paddle boat wasn't working to the disappointment of some of our group. Bicycles were nice to have as well.

Very nice location that’s suitable for families or friends! The canoes and kayaks were an excellent addition, and exploring the lake was a fun way to spend the days we were there.

We had a great time at this property. The outdoor space is exceptional - plenty of space for large groups and the swing set and flat lawn was perfect for young kids. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing, biking and hanging by the 2 docks and gazebo. Unfortunately the paddle boat was broken but Richard was prompt to assess the issue and order replacement parts. Indoors, we found the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms clean. The beds, pillows and linens were comfortable. One of the sofa beds do not pull out but this wasn't an issue for us as the couches were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning next year.

Getting information about the facility, directions and checking through Vbro was frustrating and unduly complicated by their security issues. When finally able to communicate with the host, things improved and he was very helpful. Property itself was as advertised; house was well equipped and very comfortable. Amenities such as the barbecues, lawn furniture, and watercraft were plentiful and readily available. The grounds were extensive, well maintained and in our estimation, the best feature. The view out on the lake was beautiful and the calling of the loons was awesome. The only real disappointment was that the lake had a mucky bottom and was totally congested with weeds, making swimming almost impossible, especially for small children. Otherwise, our holiday was very enjoyable.

This cottage was all that we expected and a bit more.
The listing is very accurate. The owner was quick to respond to our texts when we had questions. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 children (4 generations) and it met all of our needs. We would love to return.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and exactly how it shows in the pictures. The property was well maintained and was extremely clean when we arrived. The host was fantastic and cared to any question or concern that i had prior to our stay and for the whole weekend he were there incase I needed him. Overall 10/10 stay and we look forward to going back in the future!

We had a fantastic stay at Richard's property. The cottage was well-stocked with essentials and we had a very comfortable stay. The cottage itself is cozy, but the real showstopper is the backyard. There's a covered electric firepit, as well as an unconvered firepit by the water. There are kayaks, canoes and a paddle boat available for use. The dock is a great place to watch the sunset as well. Will definitely return! The karaoke machine was a personal highlight!

The property was wonderful. Lots of room inside with 5 bedrooms. Park, bikes, canoe, kayaks, paddleboat....perfect. Only downside was we did not swim in the lake as it was extremely swampy. Beach iwith a great Park in Fenlon Falls about 20 min drive away.

Many night time campfires with s’mores were enjoyed. Good bbq. The lake is very shallow with weeds, so, sadly not conducive to swimming but we had lots of fun on the boats and fishing. The owner was very helpful and accessible to answer any questions we had. Our only constructive feedback would be to consider getting a dishwasher machine and a larger dining table as it could only sit 6 comfortably. Overall it was a lovely summer retreat.

We had an amazing time with our extended family here. Fits 10 easily. We had plenty of non motorized water sports to use. Lots of outdoor space, two gazebos, two fire pits outside and a huge long dock to enjoy the view. Owner was very responsive and helpful throughout the booking.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage has a lot of great amenities to offer. Our kids really enjoy the playground. I will recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat. And will look forward in booking this place again in the future. The only one small recommendation which is not a big deal is to include carpets in the washroom so the floor doesn’t get wet after a shower.

Family Time
The property is huge and we all loved the large back deck with the gazebo. More than enough chairs to accommodate our family of 8. Didn't use the propane fire pot on the deck as there was no propane. Loved having 2 fridges. We brought lawn darts & bocce ball & played daily. Our 3 adult sons & ladies made daily use of the canoe & kayaks but unfortunately the paddle boat was broken.
Saw lots of geese, 3 baby raccoons, a huge turtle & befriended & fed 2 chipmunks who ate peanuts from our hands.
The living room area is cramped but still worked for us. The kitchen needs a thorough cleaning; the exhaust fan and cupboards & walls around stove are quite greasy. Also there was some mold in one bathroom. The double sized beds were too firm. Also, washcloths & top sheets for the beds are not provided, and we never found a milk container for our bagged milk.
Richard responded quickly to our emails when we had questions.
I would recommend his property. It was peaceful to just sit out & chill.

Me and my friends really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Richard was very prompt in communication and flexible in accomodating our requests. The property is very good, clean and comfortable. We didnt get to enjoy the outdoors due to weather so we plan to go back in summer. Thanks Richard.

Relaxing stay at Mitchell Lake, Richard is a great host.
The cottage was nice. The backyard is lovely and well appointed. The newly enlarged deck and extra gazebos were a bonus for our group of eight. Richard was very prompt with any questions or concerns.

The beds were amazing.
The backyard is lovely.
The kitchen would definitely benefit from a deep cleaning….it is superficially clean but the exhaust fan and back splash/window area are kind of grimy.
The lake is extremely sea-weedy! We had no plans to swim so it didn’t matter but it was an interesting experience to see.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the dealing with such a helpful and pleasant owner.

Great Cottage. Would recommend to everyone.
From the booking to staying was a pleasant experience. The owner was very friendly and explained everything in detail once we arrived. Cottage had everything you need and you just need to bring food. Location is great and was relaxing to stay here. Plenty of space as well. This was our first time booking a cottage and was a great experience. We loved it and will book again next time.

Cozy home with lots of space in backyard
Great host, lovely home, very comfy beds. We had a few little kids which enjoyed the playground equipment and the very small hill in the back yard (good enough for kids to sled down). No dishwasher (I assumed there would be - but there isn't) & wished there was a bit more room in the kitchen cabinets to put some of our stuff away. Not a deal-breaker however. Thank you for letting us use your place.

Great place for a cottage getaway near the city
Richard's cottage offered a great spot for our family to relax and enjoy a winter escape from the city. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the beds were really comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fireplace in the living room! I would definitely recommend this place for families looking for a comfortable, cozy, and relaxing vacation.

My wife and I stayed with our baby along with our friends who also have a baby. Great as rooms were located on opposite ends of the cottage for good privacy. There is a large backyard to walk around and enjoy along with paddle boat/canoe. Also can play backyard games like bocci ball provided. Internet was good, no issues. Owner was responsive throughout stay as needed. Overall had a great time and enjoyed this location. Great sunsets - One of the nights sunset was incredible fiery red. Great place!

If you are looking for a getaway from the city, this is the place for you! We stayed here aug 31- sept 3. Easy checkin, plenty of space, 3 washrooms. The cottage has everything we needed from board games to Netflix and all the kitchen utensils. The sunsets are beautiful. Breathtaking.
