The location is perfect. View of the castle from the unit. Grassmarket has a variety of restaurants and pubs. Walk everywhere. The apartment decorations are so Scottish. Bed comfortable. Kitchen appliances worked well. Used the washer and supplied clothes rack. Enjoyed the warm electric fireplace in the evening after a long day touring.
We are seniors-one with mobility issues. We knew ahead of time that the unit is on the third floor (ground floor 0) with no lift but wanted all the other amenities including the view. After the initial struggle carrying our carry on luggage in, we modified our schedule to accomodate one trip down the stairs in the morning and one up after touring and dinner. 52 steps total. Not a problem for younger and more fit folks and well worth the climb.

Location is superb.
- It was a shock when I arrived to the apartment and found that it is located at third floor and there was no lift in the building.
If you are traveling with a family or even you are a couple (young and fit) and you carry heavy luggages, I offer you my condolences.
If your group includes an elderly person with knee troubles, this apartment is definitely not the right place to stay.
- the furniture needs renovation. With this level of furniture, the price of the apartmentI is high.
