About this cottage rental
Situated in Kangaroo Lake, this lovely cottage for $479 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Carraigeen Cottage is a new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage right on the shores of beautiful Kangaroo Lake. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen with granite countertops, new stainless steel appliances, including a full sized dishwasher, full stove, large refrigerator, and new washer / dryer. It has 4 queen pillow top beds perfect for 1-2 families or a group of friends. Outside there is a BBQ and picnic style tables. There are several chairs. We have a spot for a boat at the dock. You are welcome to bring your own boat. You can launch it at the Baileys Harbor boat launch on Kangaroo Lake Road. There is a $10 launch fee and it is on the honor system. The collection box is at the launch. Children will love paddling and swimming in the warm waters of Kangaroo Lake. This is a great location for fishing, biking, hiking and canoeing and close to all the downtown amenities of Baileys Harbor and Egg Harbor – Shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes and the marina and beach are only a few minutes away. Get ready for some gorgeous sunsets! Carraigeen is all of the above, and more, but I would just like to make sure that you are aware that the cottage is 700sq foot. It does have a capacity for 8 people but it would not be suitable for 8 adults.

The cottage was spotless and adorably decorated. The view was gorgeous! We loved this little place and it’s the perfect place for a little family getaway or for a girls weekend!

We had a fantastic time staying at this Lakefront home the location was exactly what we were looking for and the lake was so beautiful to kayak on and so clear! Great restaurant within walking distance and perfectly located from all of the parks hiking trails around Door County. Martina was so helpful and attentive to our needs from the time we booked throughout the whole trip making sure we had everything at the house from kayaks life jackets firewood and a very clean house to stay in. Service was top notch period! We will be looking to stay at one of their properties again on our next trip!!

Perfect little lake cottage with many cute touches to make your stay comfortable. Serene and quiet setting even with the causeway nearby. Loved having our kayak right outside our door for early a.m., afternoon and sunset paddles, and enjoyed wine and cheese on the pier at sunset too! Martina was a great hostess, communicating everything necessary to make for a relaxing stay.

We had a delightful week at the lake cottage. Location was perfect and the cottage was great. Listing was accurate, very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Martina was wonderful to work with. Would happily book again if back in the area.

There are many things to do. Whether on the water or in town.

Our weekend was lovely at this sweet cabin. Very clean and just like the photos. Communication with the owner was easy and fast. The water is crystal clear with a sand bottom. The sunsets were gorgeous! Easy location to everything great about door county. Thanks for having us!!

What a beautiful cottage!
My family and I had an amazing time staying at this magical cottage for our week getaway. Martina was so great and easy to communicate with. The cottage was clean and charming. Nothing was better than being on the lake and being able to walk out the back door to the lake. We would definitely like to go back again and stay at the same cottage!

Superb Spotless Getaway Home
This was the cleanest VRBO I've ever stayed in - there was not a speck of dirt anywhere and nothing was out of place, which was wonderful! It's a super cute little house that was perfect for our weekend stay in Door County. Also, it had the most dishes, pots & pans, etc in any house, condo, etc that I've stayed in, which is a major plus! (I had brought some of my own because typically there isn't much!)
The only tips I would share are to remember to bring kitchen wash clothes, dish soap and towels. We knew to bring our own bedding and bath towels, but I missed the part where it said kitchen too - though it was stated in the check in info! AND make sure to bring your own coffee too -sometimes there's a canister left on site, but not in this case - again, not a big deal, just not something I thought of ahead of time. Overall, this was a perfect place!

Nice place, better for the summer months
This is a nice, secluded place. It seems great for summer months, particularly if you have a boat. It does seem overpriced for this time of year, especially because no linens were provided (which surprised us). That was a hassle, to make and unmake beds, and there weren't towels etc. A hotel would cost less and provide better amenities. But we had a good time in this quiet getaway. Just something to note.

Wonderful Location - beautifully decorated & managed cottage

Cozy Cottage on the Lake
My family and I decided to sneak up to Door County for a quick weekend getaway to get out of the city. I am so happy that we did! We had a fantastic weekend exploring the peninsula. The cottage was beautiful. Meticulously maintained and so charming. The lake is breathtaking and although it was cool we enjoyed being outside in the fresh air. We will definitely be back!!

Amazing cottage...magical place...just what we needed! You won’t be disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere to kick back & relax, catch up, enjoy nature, hike, antique, enjoy excellent food and wine and meditate. We will be back. Don’t change a thing!!

Very charming little cottage on the lake. Close to many fun activities and restaurants.
The cottage was great. Super cute and clean. Only thing we were surprised about was having to bring all your own linens. Not many people have 4 spare sets of Queen sheets in their closets. Also having to bring all your own kitchen and bathroom towels made it a little extra hassle when packing for the weekend. Other than that, very well equipped and very comfortable. Having wifi was super nice too, since we did not have many tv channels. The information regarding area restaurants and activities was very helpful. We had a great weekend.

Very nice, cozy, well appointed cottage
Thank you for sharing your cottage on the lake with us. The space is clean with great design and charming decor. For a relatively small space, we made it work with 4 adults and a baby quite easily. The location is convenient for touring the area, and nice quiet space to return to at the end of the day. Enjoyed coffee on the dock in the morning and watching the water while we relaxed in the evening. Lots of information available in the cottage for outings and activities.

Heavenly Cottage on the shores of Kanagroo Lake
I had a short stay at Carraigeen Cottage in June. It is exactly as described but the pictures do not do it justice. The cottage has four very comfortable queen beds. The amenities are impressive for a cottage of this size. It has a full kitchen - fridge, stove dishwasher and washer dryer, unusual for a cottage. A nice little gizmo was the Chromecast puck that was connected to the TV. We were able to cast Netflix shows from my phone to the TV - very cool. The wi-fi was excellent. The cottage has everything you need and the creative use of the space made our stay very comfortable and it was spotless. Having two bathrooms is a plus. It was very nice having kayaks on site to rent. Kangaroo Lake is a shallow lake and the water is very warm. It is perfect for kayaking, boating or swimming. The are a few steps right outside the door of the cottage that lead down to a shallow and mostly sandy stretch of water. There is also a dock where you can sit or tie up your own boat. Working with Martina was easy. I think it is important to say that she is the owner of the cottage, not a broker or manager. We had her cell phone number and she was available to us at any time., She gave us plenty of information about Door County - where to eat, shop and visit. She was so helpful and easy to work with. It does make a difference dealing with the owner.
We loved our stay at Carraigeen and will return.

Not what we expected.
Though the cottage was much smaller than we thought, it was charming and nicely appointed - I can't imagine any more than 2 people occupying it yet there were 2 full size beds in each bedroom. However, for the extra $125 for you to provide linens that we did not have the room to bring with us, we felt the sheets for the beds could have been made instead of sitting on top of the cover folded. The beds were up against one wall so tight it was impossible to put the sheets on the bed. It would also help to have an address on your cottage - we were not sure we had the right one and had to ask. The water pressure in the kitchen sink was so little it was hard even rinsing out coffee cups. We realize and understand the energy saving reasons, but for the cost to stay there for one week, over $2,000, there were certain amenities we did expect. We respected all the notices posted about not walking inside the cottage with shoes on - perhaps non-skid washable runners would help. Can't imagine children adhering to these restrictions. TV reception was terribly poor and was very annoying with the picture constantly breaking up every 2 seconds. For a charming waterfront cottage, there could be some changes made to make it much more appealing for the hefty cost.

We enjoyed a lovely time at this lovely place.
We would definitely stay here again...quiet and comfortable. It was so nice having the two bathrooms and the beds were very comfortable. It was a special treat to sit on the dock each morning and evening! Internet worked very well.
