Nestled in Maine, this lovely house for $250 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Excellent house for a family getaway or for a short stay! A classic 1863 northern Maine farmhouse with rustic charm. The house has beautiful property with spectacular views and a relaxing atmosphere. It is also available for DIY wedding venues. The house has 5 BR w/2 1/2 bath with an updated kitchen, granite counter tops and lots of farmhouse charm. Features large comfortable family room with metal ceiling, pellet stove, newly renovated elegant dining room with exposed original beams and original refinished hardwood floors throughout first floor. 1st floor bedroom & renovated bath with a separate laundry room. Big enclosed front porch with beautiful sunset views. Awesome views with many apple trees on the property. The house is located approximately 300 yards from the main ATV & snowmobile trail. I was able to get an exclusive rental agreement through a local shop. They will deliver and pickup ATV/snowmobiles from the house for guests who are interested in having a great time on the trails. ATV's will be available in the spring of 2019. Any questions, please notify me through HomeAway. The Meduxnekeag river is within short walking distance from the house for excellent trout fishing. Mars Hill ski facility is a short drive away.

Beautiful home and property! Very clean and all the comforts of home. So quiet, yet so close to grocery, and other necessities. With my own family being from Northern Maine (we jokingly call The Boonies) I was astounded to order Chinese delivery after a long tiring day! Dinner by the fire pit was amazing as well!

ATV trail access right from property
We had a great experience in Houlton. Our family of 9 fit very comfortably in the house. The property is located right on the ATV trails which was extremely convenient since we were up there to ride the trails. Great views of the mountains and 4th of July fireworks too. Charming home with comfortable beds. We would definitely stay again.

This property was amazing! My husband and I stayed here with our 2 and 1/2 year old, 13 year old and our 7 month old St. Bernard. The house was awesome and the little kids play area kept our youngest busy when we weren’t out enjoying the miles of trails right off the backyard! Very pet friendly and the pup was able to run freely no problem. We also rented an atv to explore even further. The owner, Dave, was very helpful and super down to earth. We will def be going back in the near future!

A great place to relax
This is a wonderful farm house in a beautiful little town in northern Maine. Lots of room for my party of five. Very quiet and relaxing. We took advantage of the fact that we were very close do the off-road trails in rented an off-road vehicle to explore based on the recommendation of the owner. The owner Stephen Rosa we're very nice and always quick to get back with me when I had questions

Wonderful stay
We spent Mother’s Day here visiting my sister in Houlton.
The house is beautiful. Very clean and cozy. Super comfortable and well equipped.
David was extremely helpful and provided lots of support and assistance when needed.
It’s definitely a home away from home.

Beautiful summer stay
We had such a lovely time staying in houlton. The house is spacious and so comfortable. Property was also gorgeous. We especially enjoyed the stunning views! Dave was extremely helpful and assisted us with whatever we needed.

We chose the property based upon the photos supplied. Frankly, I was very troubled when we drove up and saw that part of the outside of the house was under construction. HOWEVER, when we entered the house, it was nicely done inside and comfortable. Since there were only 4 adults using the property ( 2 couples), we only used two bedrooms. There was plenty of room for more people. We enjoyed the home. There were plentiful mosquitos many days so we stayed inside for the most part. One day when mosquitos were not around much, we used the outside fireplace and enjoyed it. Everything we needed to have a fire and light the torches was provided. Although we didn’t use them, all the ingredients for s’mores were supplied as well. We unplugged all the Glade air “fresheners” while we were there so we could enjoy the fresh Maine air in the house. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay. Since the property is being thoughtfully renovated with care, we would suggest that the advertisement for the rental include that fact so that arriving renters aren’t surprised to see the work-in-progress.

Wonderful Stay
The farmhouse met all of our expectations! A great place to relax, play, and eat with family and friends! The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and the bedrooms were comfortable. The enclosed porch was a great hangout spot. So many memories made! We would definitely book again.

Dave was so good to deal with and has a great home with a warm pellet stove, perfect after snowmobiling all day. Comfortable beds and a brand new kitchen.

Four days snowmobiling at Sunset Farm
Five of us came up for a chance to ride Northern Maine snowmobile trails. The weather was a little of a problem, but the farm house was beautiful. The driveway was big enough for three trucks with trailers. Although this is an older house it was well kept and very comfortable. There was two to three feet of snow on the ground. Getting to the trails was a challenge but doable. We all agreed that we would probably stay here if we came this far up again. Thanks Dave and Rosa.

It was perfect for 5 guys that get together every November.. The rainy weather kept us from enjoying the outside, so the big tv room helped. We will likely try to book it again for our golf trip this summer.

Peaceful retreat
Beautiful property. Enjoyed swinging in hammock watching the sunset. Kitchen was well appointed., beds were comfortable. Owners were very helpful.

We had a few problems. The refrigerator had food in it and also the freezer. It was also dirty. The upstairs TV had to rebooted numerous time as the screen kept being scrambled. The day before we left, the upstairs toilet started leaking down through the light in the bathroom downstairs. We did not feel comfortable using it. Peaceful place. We could hear the coyotes at night. No coffee cups so we bought 4 mugs. Also had to buy two small,sharp knives. We left them there. Would be nice to have a potato masher and ice cream scoop. We did the solitude and being away from city life.

wonderful getaway from city
We spend an unforgettable weekend here. Built in 1860s but the owner keeps it in a good state and clean. It is quiet, air is so fresh. Plenty of rooms to hold three generation. Camp fire reminds me of my childhood. Plenty of all sorts of supply! You won't regret it to stay there

Lovely and Relaxing
The farm is a beautiful place to take some time away. The location is perfect- close enough to town but still set out far enough to feel quiet and isolated. Dave and Rosa are lovely hosts who’ve made this place a warm and welcoming home to spend some time. Great access to fishing, swimming and farm stands in the summer months.
