Harbor Haven is just a short 8 minute walk or 3 minute drive to a gorgeous beach on Lake Michigan! The home comes with wood planked ceilings, 2 bedrooms, 1 and ½ bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, and beautiful deck with patio furniture for guests to relax. On the back of the house is also a screened-in porch where you can enjoy nature bug-free! A washer/dryer and electric grill are also present for guests to enjoy! Union Pier is a fabulous summer city with wineries, casinos, and great restaurants nearby. With the Michigan City Outlet Mall only 20 minutes away, and golf courses galore, mom and daughter can enjoy shopping, while father and son hit the course! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS A/C: Yes Animals: Birds and small animals like squirrels and racoons. ATV/Snowmobiles: Not the ideal place for snowmobiling or ATV's. Can not ride from house to trails and there is no room for parking a trailer. Best to leave those home and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Michigan! Bathroom: Bathroom 1= Full bath with stand up shower Bathroom 2 = ½ bath Beach/Swimming: 8-minute walk to Lake Michigan. The public access beach is just down a few steps. Bedroom Configuration: Bedroom 1= King Bedroom 2= Bunk bed (twin on top, full size below) Boat Rental: Oselka Marina in New Buffalo. Bugs: Typical flies, mosquitoes, spiders, and ants. Cell phone service: Great service with most carriers. Distances: * Michigan City Outlet Mall: 20 minutes (14 miles) * Chicago: 1 hour 14 minutes (74 miles) * Detroit: 3 hours 18 minutes (210 miles) * Notre Dame University: 44 minutes (37 miles) * Grand Rapids: 1 hour 41 minutes (107 miles) * Toledo, OH: 3 hours 3 minutes (185 miles) Fire Pit: You are able to build bonfires on the beach, but there is not a firepit at the house. Whatever driftwood you find or purchase some firewood at the local grocer. Fireplace: There is a wood burning fireplace in the home. Please bring your own wood. Fishing: Bring your poles. Fishing License: You can purchase your fishing license online. Grill: Charcoal grill-please bring your own charcoal Handicap Accessible: If you can navigate a few stairs in/out of the house, you will be able to enjoy this one level home. Hunting: Not Onsite Internet: Free WiFi Linens: Yes, we provide you with basic sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are particular about the thread count of your sheets, let us know, and we will make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. OUTDOOR SHOWER: Not currently working Parking: 2 cars in driveway and 2 in- front if necessary Pets: Pets are not allowed. Enjoy this allergen-free Lodge. Privacy: There is a home on the one side of the home that is visible. The backyard is semi-private. With mature trees on one side of the home and white picket fence, you will enjoy the comfort of the backyard. There is a Ring Doorbell on the front door. Security: There is a Ring Doorbell on the front door. Space: ranch-style home Store: 4 miles away. It is called Barney's. A convenience store is within walking distance, which hosts basic supplies. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. Please bring your own beach towels to take to the water. TVs: 2 Smart TVs. One is in the master bedroom and one in the main family room. Roku for one TV. No Cable or Satellite boxes. Streaming only. Feel free to bring your Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon accounts! If you don't have Netflix, we can allow you to use our account during your stay. Washer and dryer: Yes! Laundry soap is provided. Wood: Whatever driftwood you find or purchase some firewood at the local grocer.

Our stay was pleasant and comfortable in spite of a few minor snags. We were given the wrong entry code but upon a call to the office were told the correct one and with their apologies. During our 2-day stay there were two events: window blinds fell off wall and automatic dishwasher malfunctioned. My calls to the office were all pleasant and helpful with timely responses. Life happens. I would definitely stay at this unit again as it has conformable beds, is clean and the kitchen is adequately stocked. Also the location is ideal!

We booked this property for a wedding weekend and it did not disappoint! Walking distance from the beach and a cute bakery. Plus, just down the highway from downtown New Buffalo! Property was clean, cozy, and we loved the screened in porch at night! The property management was incredibly communicative, helpful, and easy to get a hold of for checking in. Would definitely stay here again!

Digital passcode did not work, but the office provided a passcode to the key lockbox. Used the key all weekend. Digital passcode did not activate. Wonderful amenities. Great location. Lovely stay.

Overall we had a wonderful experience. The property manager was very communicative. The house was as advertised except for one small detail. It says there is an electric grill but it is charcoal. Not a big deal but we didn’t want to buy charcoal. The distance to the beach is exactly what they said and it is a very easy walk. The beach is really nice and there were lots of families without it being crowded. We would stay here again!

We truly enjoyed this little cottage. Block from the lake and in a very nice area. My son wanted to get engaged during a weekend away and it was a surprise to his fiancé. They stayed in New Buffalo, and Union Pier was only a 8-10 min drive. Check in was a little challenge as they provided us with the wrong keyless entry code. However, the management team was very responsive, and they were about to get us into the house within 10-15 mins. When we come back to the area, we would definelty stay here.

We had a great experience here for a few days over Columbus Day weekend. The house was clean and the neighborhood is quiet. The beach was a short walk away. Highly recommend.

Great location. We enjoyed the home and were overall happy with the rental. We were happy with the response and help from the rental company via emails, calls, and text. Seemed to be missing some essentials, pot lids, foil, cutting board, face cloths, extra bath towels. It could use a few outdoor chair pads, a gas grill, and maybe somewhere to lock up bikes out of the weather - maybe the shed? The sheets were definitely not the nicest but the mattresses were great. Glad to have a king size bed too! Love Union Pier and access to beaches, and quiet bike riding roads. This was a fall trip so there was not much traffic on Lakeside. I'm pretty sure we would rent again.

We had a wonderful time staying at the little blue and yellow house. There were 5 adults and we were very comfortable. Communication was great. Public beach was so close and very nice. Would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed a relaxing last minute trip to Union Pier. This home is in a great location with close proximity to an awesome beach. There are two reasons we didn't give five stars - first is that the electronic door lock mechanism had a mind of its own. It took several minutes to get it to work upon check-in. We let it go but ran into the issue the next day. After 10-15 mins of trying, we called the property manager who promptly gave us a lockbox code that contained a key - much appreciated as they were super friendly and helpful. The other reason we are not leaving five stars is that the Wi-Fi went down went down during the middle of our second day. This made work a little challenging as I was relying on a hotspot with average service. Not to mention no chance of a quiet movie night on our last evening as that meant no streaming services or cable. Not the end of the world as we didn't come here to watch TV but it was definitely something we were looking forward to after exploring Harbor Country and spending a couple of days at the beach. Perhaps if I called Xfinity it would have been an easy reset but the last absolute last thing I want to do on vacation is troubleshoot with an internet provider. Regardless of these hiccups, I would stay here again.

I really wish I could give this property a better rating. Location was good...close to beach and shopping. However, there were cleanliness and maintenance issues that have apparently been left go for sometime. Front entry wooden steps wete rickety, narrow and loose. Exterior lights covered in webs and bugs, patio umbrella (with rips) and white rockers coated in green mold. Carpets in bedrooms were filthy, master toilet had a leak in the shut off valve and constantly ran. The oven literally had a thick greasy coat of food and debris on each burner pan. Patio windows were filthy and there was a missing light fixture globe in master bedroom and the closet rod oddly was wrapped in aluminum foil???? I spent the first 3 hours cleaning and rewashing the old towels, dirty floor mats and linens. Furniture and appliances were adequate, but dated and in partial disrepair.. loose diningroom chair legs. For the money....over $1000.00 for 2 nights... the condition of this property was inexcusable! Unfortunately we will not be back nor can we recommed this property.

The house was comfortable and clean. I would recommend NOT telling guests to bring Keurig cups for the machine. Machine barely worked. Controls message said “descaling required”. Not sure that would even do the trick. There is a coffee pot (for bring your own filters & coffee); not listed among the “amenities”. Limited kitchen utensils, but plenty of silverware and dishes/glasses. The “short, 5 min walk” to the beach was more like 10 and many steps to the beach. Beach was beautiful and worth the walk. Very clear directions to get to the beach. Nice screen porch and deck with outdoor furniture.
