The apartment is a charming unit in a two unit historic home built in 1912. Over the many years of staying at VRBO homes, our experience at the Monroe House was absolutely one of the best. Jordan and Jeremy have presented a home that represents the best in hospitality. It is wonderfully appointed, very clean and so comfortable. The location gives easy access to the western suburbs, as well as downtown. I highly recommend it!

The home is in a very pleasant neighborhood and only a block away from historical downtown Forest Park…
With the green line about a mile away and the blue line only 2 blocks away we had easy access to the city of Chicago…
If you enjoy staying in a turn of the century home this is the one for you…

The second we entered The Monroe House, we knew we had made the right choice. Clean, beautifully decorated, and well-appointed with all the modern conveniences: this is the total package. I also appreciated the free off-street parking and the location, with the closest CTA stop a relatively short walk/drive away. Even though we didn't have any issues or problems, the hosts stayed in touch with us and made sure we knew they were available if needed. Oh, and the beds in both bedrooms were very comfortable, too. I hope this place is available the next time we come to the area!

Our family loved our stay. Communication was great! Walking distance to some food and shopping options. There were about 5 stairs to get to front door and back door. Parking was super easy with a designated spot. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay at a charming property with responsive, gracious hosts. Location is everything and this spot is perfectly situated with easy access to the city and suburbs. All our needs were anticipated before arriving. Comfortable, clean and attractively decorated. Excellent.

Everything was perfect!!! I typically give feedback as in if there were mine I would want to know..... I have nothing!! Everything was wonderful, kitchen and bathroom both were stocked. We definitely would stay here again next year!!! They even thought to place a Dunkin donuts directly behind the apartment for me!!!!! Only thing that could have been better is if they would have had dinner waiting for us when we got back at night!!! LOL!!!

Our family enjoyed the stay - the bed and pullout couch were very comfortable, it was very clean, and the location was great for either heading into Chicago or visiting friends/family in the suburbs. Would definitely recommend

A good size property super cute and clean. Location convenient walking distance. Being located near the busy retail food area, there is a lot of traffic noise. Not enough to be too disturbing. Would be a great place in the spring/summer w a cute enclosed patio. Would absolutely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. A very nice neighborhood, close to plenty of amenities. The house itself is quite nice. Jordan and Jeremy have done a wonderful job with it. Lots of special touches and pretty much everything you need. Sheets and towels are great. Beds were very firm, but we slept well. Couch and living space are super comfortable. Garbage trucks were loud very early two of the three mornings we were there. Not a huge deal, but do note that you can hear them in the house while they pick up! Otherwise the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful and safe. Communication was excellent. Check in was very easy. Our hosts were always available to us, but gave us complete privacy. Overall a wonderful VRBO experience, and we would most defintley stay here again if in the area.

We really enjoyed this comfortable Forest Park home. It is spacious and clean with thoughtful and plentiful amenities and is decorated with vintage charm mixed with modern comfort. We loved being on a quiet residential street just a short walk to the restaurants and shops of downtown Forest Park. Would definitely stay here again.

Home Away from Home
Jordan and Jeremy have provided a wonderful haven in Forest Park, minutes away from downtown Chicago. Beautifully decorated and cozy, the residence has plenty of room for a family to spread out and enjoy, and is stocked with amenities so that you have just about everything you need. We loved our stay and will definitely be back to stay again!

Wonderful mother/daughter stay! Modern open concept, yet cozy decor! Close to both the city and suburbs.. we got to enjoy Immersive Van Gogh, a walk by the Chicago River, and the spring flower show at Garfield Park Conservatory. Spacious outdoor area with picnic table and yard games—we had a great time having a cookout with a couple of my daughters friends. Gracious and accommodating hosts! Thankyou Jordan and Jeremy—we had a great weekend stay!

Great Location and Beautiful House
This was our first VRBO experience and we are so glad we picked this one. The home was beautifully decorated and comfortable beds. We had a family pizza party and had plenty of room. It was great having off street parking.

Booking & access to the property was easy. The flat had absolutely everything we needed. The location was great with lots of restaurants nearby. The owners were very helpful during our stay but unobtrusive. We spent a lot of time at the flat because I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. It was very homey & the decorating was wonderful, very tastefully done. We wished we could have moved right in. We'll be back to Chicago fairly soon & hope to stay here again. Absolutely fabulous stay!
Booking & access to the property was easy. The flat had absolutely everything we needed. The location was great with lots of restaurants nearby. The owners were very helpful during our stay but unobtrusive. We spent a lot of time at the flat because I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. It was very homey & the decorating was wonderful, very tastefully done. We wished we could have moved right in. We'll be back to Chicago fairly soon & hope to stay here again. Great location, all the conveniences
I stayed at Monroe House during the Christopher holidays. It was so inviting to be greeted by Christmas decorations and lights and a well stocked pantry. Definitely will be staying here again. Great location

Apartment was really great. Clean and bright, with comfortable furniture and a fairly well stocked kitchen. Close to the train to downtown Chicago, too. The hosts provided maps and information about the “L” - very helpful! When we checked in the lights were on and the apartment was so welcoming.

Forest Park and Oak Park are nice areas to visit.
Travel to Downtown was straightforward using the Green or Blue lines. Would recommend a Ventra pass.

Beautiful rental!
The Monroe House was a perfect stay for our visit with our son. The interior and exterior were pretty, comfortable and quiet. Arrival "check in" was a breeze. Short distance to walk to the train station.

Loved this place!
The Monroe House was immaculately clean, well-stocked, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated with unique accessories and artwork. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows and towels very plush. This place was even prettier in person than the pictures. There was storage to spare with both closets and drawers. This place is a half block from a commercial area with plenty of restaurants and shops. The walk to the CTA rapid transit was just a few minutes and takes you right downtown in about 25 minutes. It was faster than driving on the freeways and cheaper than the very expensive parking in the loop. It was fun to see us passing all the cars on our dedicated rail. Our stay here was everything we expected, and we look forward to staying here again when we are in the Chicago area. Thanks, Jordan & Jeremy, for making everything so inviting.

Stayed here while visiting a friend at a nearby college. The kids we where visiting were so happy to come “home” to enjoy family time, meals, catch up on life and family. Thank you so much making our trip like being at home.

Truly perfect in every way—this place is exquisite!
I can’t say enough about The Monroe House! Jeremy & Jordan have truly thought of everything and have created a getaway that feels both luxurious and cozy. The home is extremely comfortable—from the bedding to the towels to the funky vintage decor. The master bedroom is worthy of being in the pages of a magazine. I couldn’t help but send my friends and family pictures of it and they were stunned! The location is also fabulous—you are in walking distance from bustling Madison Street, which is full of shops, restaurants, pubs, yoga studios, and more (directly across the street is the trendy Exit Strategy Brewing). If you feel Iike heading into the city, the expressway is just blocks away and (without traffic) you can there in 15 minutes. Jeremy & Jordan are available to assist with anything you may need, but otherwise, leave you alone. I had 100% percent privacy during my stay, but it was nice to know that they were upstairs in case I had any questions or concerns. I enjoyed my time here so much that I decided to extend my stay by a night and they were happy to accommodate me. I will stay nowhere else but here during any upcoming visits to my hometown! I only hope it doesn’t become so popular that it’s booked. A true gem!
