Relaxing and quiet with comfortable rooms and great cozy shared kitchen.

Cora’s was very nice and quiet. The chickens were fun, one chicken cleaned the bugs off the front of our car upon arrival - what service! The shared kitchen was so great, we met a French family with two young kids who were at the start of their trip and let us blabber on about the great places we’d been on it trip. We were not able to take advantage of the horses, but the place was so relaxing. We ended up heading to a nearby black sand beach to round out our relaxing morning.

I was concerned at first about the ratio of washroom to beds, but it worked out well even though all the beds were full.

A great place to get in touch with the Iceland Horses. Cora‘s House & Horse is a guesthouse on the one side and also home to 20-30 horses. People can only book a room or a horse tour or they can live and ride at Cora‘s place. The rooms are clean and warm, the kitchen is well-equipped and the horses are super well-trained showing a kind character. Best conditions for great holidays even when it is a rainy 4h tour to the beach. You are in best hands here.

Excellent place to stay, Cora and her family made us feel welcome and a really nice place to stay, it was my favourite place out of the whole trip in Iceland, will definitely be staying again in the future

Good but challenging given the circumstances

Super clean, simple but pleasant. Great wifi and heat through the cold blizzard that came through. Cora's staff was lovely, although I only met her once briefly in spite of being there for six nights and just upstairs from her

We were there during a snow storm, having to abort an effort to leave for the airport the day of our intended departure which meant we had no food left and ended up having to stay an extra two nights. While I'm grateful she let us stay, that time was very stressful and it would have been nice to have her pop up to see if we were ok rather than just messaging eventually through the app. Felt a little inhuman. My travelling companion had this to say: I would not return here. Rooms are small, clean, and warm. Kitchen immaculate. Horses are beautiful. Cora’s 2 helpers, able and kind. They made us Christmas cookies, very sweet. However, the girth on my saddle was too loose, causing both the saddle and I to fall off on frozen, rocky ground. Cora’s basic response “ I wasn’t there when it happened.” There was a strong snow storm, all roads closed. I was in a risky situation, needing access to a medication to keep me out of ER. Cora’s response. basically…..call pharmacy and hospital yourself. No call to see if we needed food till 4pm. No one to help us get out the snowed in porch the next day till we asked. In short, a real lack of basic human kindness, caring, and warmth which made me feel profoundly unsafe. Basic attitude….. take care of it yourselves. I would never treat someone from a foreign country who didn’t speak the language in this way. I would do whatever I could to be of help. I have been a world traveler my whole life and have seldom encountered such coldness in my 73 years. I await the defensive response. So glad to be gone from this place. A beautiful stay with a welcoming host and very helpful staff with special thanks to Marlene

There was no breakfast provided but there was plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided and condiments and spices too for your own cooking. The room and communal spaces were warm and spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming, very helpful and very responsive to messages. We went for a 1.5h horse ride which was beautiful and suitable even for people with little horse riding experience

Horses, nature, great stay for two whilst traveling across Iceland.

Great location. Great price for a stay in Iceland. We stayed here for the proximity to many places we wanted to visit (South Coast and Golden Circle), and the added bonus of getting to ride Icelandic horses (2 hour hack was about £80 per person). We really enjoyed being out in nature, seeing the horses, dogs, chickens etc. Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Recommend picking up snacks, dinner and breakfast essentials for your trip.

Travel can always be a little more complicated without a few essentials... Milk, eggs, butter. So bare in mind to bring your own. Shared bathroom facilities can mean a little wait in the morning but we had time. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and Cora provided lots of extras in the kitchen to help you with your Iceland trip (spices and lots of equipment). We would stay again!

Cosy and homy place

I liked that the place had my name in it, that was why we chose the place in the first place. :D After staying in all kind of guesthouses and hostels for the past 9 days this was a blast. While we stayed here it felt like home, not only because of the name. Cora and her family were very welcoming. When we drove to the house the dogs came and said hello, they are so cute. The room was so comfy and we slept very well after we lucky enough to see the northern lights right here on the farm. We could store and cook our food in the kitchen. We also went horseback riding and it was amazing. The ponies were so sweet and fluffy, the view from the mountain was stunning, we can only recommend it.

That we couldn´t stay longer.

A good place to spend a couple of nights, and the host, Cora, is a very nice person, very helpful and kind. Horses are also available for a ride. Unfortunately we could not do it because of bad weather, but we would definitely take this into account for a next trip

The house is a country side house, basic and simple. We gave a score 7 because the score 8 belongs -in our opinion- to a higher standard of accomodation, but not because we were not satisfied. The only remark which we can make is maybe the very small bathroom and the matteresses which were too soft.

A wonderful place for our family!

clean and comfy, spacious shared kitchen fully stocked with amenities like dishes, soap, spices, creamer etc. on site horses and a great ride for our family! very pleasant and efficient hostess with great communication.

The house is very nice, the horses are wandering around all the time and it is very nice to look outside of the windows and see them. The kitchen is rather nice and it was easy to use. There were only 2 other guests, so it was rather easy to coordinate for the use of the bathroom and the kitchen. The host was really caring, she warned us about the upcoming storm and gave us helpful advices.

As many reviewers have confirm, the place is spotlessly clean. We went in the midst of winter and house was warm and cosy. Perfect if want to do both the Golden circle but also the reach the attractions in the south of the islands. Very welcoming host. Well appointed kitchen and we were glad to find that Cora had provided all the essentials ( coffee, salt, oil etc). In fact Cora helped us with milk, butter and onion as we arrived late. The room is of good size with views over the fields where you can see Cora's horse grazing. Great value for money. Thank you for your hospitality.
