Nestled in Takitumu District, this lovely house for $176 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This beautifully renovated beach house has a real ‘homely’ and ‘rustic ‘charm about it, while offering you spectacular morning sunrises, views across the lagoon to our families unspoilt ‘Moto/tropical island’ (known as Ta'akoka) and onwards past the distant wave breaks over the fringing reef…words can’t really explain how beautiful this residence is and the serenity it emulates. The beach residence is exceptionally large; boasting 208 sqm in size and was designed with high ceilings to allow natural airflow throughout. With 3 large private balcony areas on offer, it is ideal for open air entertaining overlooking the Muri lagoon or in the surrounds of a tropical garden …You chose! Primary construction is concrete with rimu flooring throughout, rustic in decor and furnishings, yet captures a distinctive Polynesian feel to enhance the panoramic vistas on offer. This property offers you a very large 2 bedroom beach house on a private location that can sleep up to 6 guests (adults/children)- from NZD$299.00 to NZD$499.00 per night with the following amenities; • (1st ) Bedroom is very large and contains 2x King beds - with beachfront views out to the Lagoon. • (2nd) Bedroom contains 1x Queen bed - with a large adjoining outside deck surrounded by tropical landscaping • All bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. • Two bathrooms and Toilet facilities – one situated within the living quarters (separate Shower/bath/toilet) and the next one is located beside the kitchen on outside deck (combined shower/toilet) and laundry area. • Fully geared Kitchen facilities including Hobbs/Oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and all cooking/serving utensils • Three spacious outside living areas that open onto expansive private balconies with outdoor dining furniture, loungers and day-bed • 40inch LED TV, Telephone, pre-pay WiFi Internet • UV treated water filter system Extras: Linen (included); Complementary ‘Starter Pack’ upon arrival (only) – fresh wholemeal bread, milk, juice, butter, jam spread and bathroom products for each bathroom (included); Free use Children’s portable cot and car seat (upon request) (included); By arrangement / additional cost: Airport transfers ,Child care/Baby-sitting services

Our stay at this gorgeous location was absolute paradise. It had everything we needed. Fantastic access to a karaoke bar/restaurant, Vibe Cafe, beauty parlour, grocery/liquor store and more right across the road from the property. The view from the deck is breathtaking. Shine was a great host and her communication was excellent. The house is very private which we appreciated. We will definitely be back soon. 10/10!

Beautiful location, right on the beach.Plenty of lovely outdoor spaces. Great large lagoon for snorkeling or canoeing (Though beach access could be improved).
There are a good variety of shops and entertainment within easy walking distance including a bar and eatery across the rd with live music every other night till 9pm.
We have all really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.

Was a great stay and we had everything that we needed. Shine was very accommodating and wonderful. The view was beautiful and food and beverages just across the road. The beds were a bit on the soft side for us so just an fyi if people like firm beds. Beautiful memories made with my family here and would recommend! Thanks so much! ♥️

We had a great time canoeing and snorkeling, saw lots of fish, small and large, especially just outside the island and saw some turtles without going on a tour!!!! The bar across the road was great. The accommodation was superb!

The house was awesome. Had everything we needed. The weather wasn't kind to us. House leaked in places but didn't disturb our stay. Great location and was great to have access to kayaks and snorkels at the house. Was so handy to bar and eating places plus the small supermarket across the road. We stayed at the Laurie Residence for 5 nights, the views were lovely, the house was homely. Shine was fantastic to communicate with and answered all emails promptly. Close to shops, restaurant etc. use of kayaks was great. We had a lovely time.

This accommodation was PERFECT for our family. Location is exceptional, facilities on point and our host made everything so easy for us to book and arrive. We snorkelled daily, walked to night markets, wandered across the road for cocktails and had all the privacy a holiday home can offer. The 5 days spent here in our two week Cook Island holiday was the highlight simply because this property was perfect. We will be back again!

The garden is glorious, lush and beautiful.
The 4 decks provide for all weather.
Mai'i and the shops across the road are great.

We literally clapped when we walked into the house because of the amazing lagoon view. Loved listening to the crashing waves at night, comfy beds, the bachy feel of the house, loads of space, that it had a bath, books to read, pretty gardens, kayaks and snorkel gear. Only negatives were probably the loud bar across the road (but usually finished around 10:30ish) and property said a good dvd collection but it definitely wasn’t that. But we were ok chilling with a book.

Loved our stay at Laurie Residence at Muri Beach. Great position right on the beach where you can swim and snorkel. Easy walk along the beach to other resorts for a drink or something to eat. There is also a cafe/bar (that plays music from about 4pm), convenience store and take away just across the road. The house is well set out and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We never got tired of the views over the lagoon from inside or on the deck. Shine is an excellent host - very helpful and responsive.

Looked at a lot of properties and was drawn to this one right on the lagoon with beautiful views and beach access. Description was accurate, however the house was more spacious than it appeared in the pictures. Lots of privacy as well!! Kitchen was amply stocked (counter tops could use a little updating as they are quite water-marked) and the hostess was very responsive to any of my inquiries. I had a little whoopsie with one of the appliances and she was gracious to fix it in a very reasonable manner. One of the reviews said the bed was a little soft however I found it to be marvelously comfortable!! There's a bar and hamburger place across the street which has great fish hamburgers! Also a small grocery and liquor store a very short walk away. To really get around, I highly recommend a rental car ( at least part of the time) as the bus system can be very consuming. I was a solo traveler and felt safe. The locals are wonderfully friendly and helpful! Snorkeling was good most days, depending on the tide and weather conditions. I tried three different places. Rarotonga has a stray dog issue which can be sometimes annoying or entertaining depending on mood of the day! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It is indeed a "gem on the lagoon!"

Very much enjoyed the stay, house and location exactly as described.
Improvements could include, an informal welcome visit from owner as well as more information on Rarotonga such as a copy of the free tourist publication Escape. Also more detailed info on how to get wifi working.
Fix the sink taps, people expect a much higher standard irrespective of whether they will soon be replaced or not.
We also picked up a significant amount of broken glass in front of the property. A general inspection and regular clearance of debris would help.
We would happily return in the future, thanks.

Lovely spot, easy walk to lots of lovely restaurants/ cafes. Kayaks were great as fantastic location to get out on the water and lots to see. First time to Rarotonga and absolutely loved it !
