About this cottage rental
Welcome to Badnaban, a small crofting township on the beautiful, scenic and peaceful North West Highlands of Scotland, close to the picturesque fishing village of Lochinver, with superb views over the sea loch, hills and the rugged landscape that typifies this area.
The large spacious and very well appointed accommodation is set in a secluded spot with a lovely private feel, on the side of a hill overlooking the islands and bay of Lochinver and to the hills beyond. Situated by itself at the end of a private road, it is in an ideal spot to relax in the peace and quiet of the Highlands or to use as a base to explore the exceptional beauty of the nearby surroundings and beyond.
The Accommodation:
The beautiful, bright and comfortable accommodation has been completely refurbished to a high standard. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen offering excellent cooking facilities with a halogen hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher etc. with all the cooking utensils you will require.
A breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the dining area. This has a large dining table with seating for 8, freeview TV and fantastic views over the bay.
The large, comfortable and well-furnished lounge has an open fire, freeview TV, a DVD player, an I-Pod/MP3 docking station, plenty of sofas and uninterrupted panoramic views from the 3 large windows of the surrounding hills and bay area.
There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and a tumble drier. The utility room also has a dehumidifier, both cloths and shoe/boot racks which allows it to be used as a drying area for wet outdoor clothing.
Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with a family bath/shower room next door.
A further 2 large double bedrooms can be found upstairs with a second shower room.
Free Wi-Fi is available as well as a telephone with no call charges to UK landlines. The house has oil fired central heating throughout at no additional charge.
Outside there is a patio area which overlooks the hills and sea loch where fishing boats can be seen travelling to and from Lochinver. The patio is equipped with seating and a large table.
Private onsite parking is available beside the accommodation.

Highland Haven was a fantastic self-catering space and Marc was an excellent host. The cottage comfortably accommodated 6 people (3 couples) all of whom loved to cook! The kitchen had everything you need and the open plan dinning room/breakfast bar were great for hanging out with the tremendous lock and mountain views. The living room was huge but also cozy with two large sofas which one could easily sleep on. It also had windows on three sides with amazing views and a large wood fireplace. All three bedrooms were nice sized, the two upstairs had incredible views. Plenty of room for parking and 5' drive to Lochinver. Highland Haven is an excellent base to access Assynt and Coigach regions with their many beaches (e.g. Achmelvich) and mountain walks (eg. Stac Pollaidh). We also loved learning about the local geology as the cottage is in the middle of the UNESCO Global Geopark, a truly unique area of scientific interest and natural beauty. We will definitely be back for another visit if possible.

Fantastic house, great view of the sea and sunsets. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Shower pressure could have been a bit stronger but wasn't a problem.

Second time we’ve stayed at this property, extremely clean and tidy in a gorgeous setting. Brilliant base if you want to explore the NC500 and surrounding area. Will be booking again next year. I highly recommend this property to anyone, the owner was easy to contact and a very nice person

All round excellent, from first contact to a very well equipped house, comfy, great location, stunning views, wildlife everywhere you looked, definitely be returning.
