About this house rental

Situated in Petoskey, this attractive house for $175 per night is a great choice for your next break. This is the most unique property in the area. Not only is it on Lake Michigan—you can walk 170’ to the water’s edge without crossing a single street—it is also in Petoskey, just three blocks from the famous Gaslight shopping district of Petoskey where one can go to concerts, live theater and casual to fine dining. Only 50' or so from the front door is the Little Traverse Wheelway bicycle path that goes 26.7 miles from Charlevoix north to Harbor Springs with a 32 mile spur called the North Western State Trail that takes you to Mackinaw City. Also within three blocks are the local hospital, the marina, a small sandy beach, the lighthouse pier, the softball fields, the Historical Museum and the Bear River for Salmon fishing. Views of magnificent Michigan sunsets blend from the sky into the water at the horizon, unobstructed by trees typical of views across inland lakes. The house itself has a personality unobtainable from typical hotel accommodations with its Victorian cottage style bedroom (Queen bed), Knotty Pine bedroom (bunk beds-full on bottom, twin on top), unique ceiling fans(remote-controlled), a pass-through window between the kitchen and living room, track and mood lighting, bookshelves flanking the gas fireplace, a mini-bar, a 42" smart TV with surround sound, a huge sectional sofa (double sleeper), a twin sleeper Loveseat and the wall of windows that overlook Little Traverse Bay. With the Covid-19 virus, a special sanitizing will be done for you. When we have same-day turn-arounds, in order to sanitize as well as clean, please check in no sooner than 6 PM. Check out please by 10 AM. This allows us enough time to prepare it for the next guest with the cleanliness that you would expect. UV light sanitation will also be used. Please read the email I will send you (after the reservation has been made) about the virus and our preparations. If you need to cancel because of Covid-19, either directly (you are ill or have been exposed) or indirectly, (travel limitations by law, laid off due to virus, etc.), I will give you a 100% refund. Also, please read the house rules. Continuing with the reservation indicates your agreement to the house rules.

Great home right on Little Traverse Bay. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Host was very communicative and ensured everything was as expected. Close to downtown area and an easy walk if desired along the Wheelway. Or enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the walkers and dogs pass by while enjoying the waterfront view. Will definitely return! Listing is exactly what we arrived to.

What a wonderful spot to relax with family and friends. The bedrooms are a bit cozy but the beds are comfy. The living room is wonderful. Lots of space and good seating to enjoy time with friends or just gaze out at the bay. The fireplace created a warm spot to relax on a blustery winter evening.

This is a sweet two bedroom home adjacent to park and trail. We enjoyed beautiful fall foliage and walked each day along the trail. Great multiuse trail! Our host was great! We recommend you consider this property for your visit to Petosky and the area.

Very nice stay. The house was perfect, overlooking a park with walking trails and quiet neighborhood. I would stay here again.

Place is reasonably nice inside. Not much in the kitchen as it relates to cooking and eating, so it's very minimal. We considered brining our dog, but when the owner asked us for a photo (which we thought was quite odd), we passed. For reference, he's in training to be a therapy dog through Pet Partners, so he's not some yahoo. She went so far as to even stop by halfway through our stay to clearly see if we brough our dog, but actually blamed it on red squirrels trying to get into the attic (weird...). Moreover, she said she texted us, but it was a landline, of which, it was my phone and we had been communicating the entire time. The adult bed was horribly squeaky and I couldn't sleep in the same room with my wife since I'm such a light sleeper. Some blinds were broken in the kitchen, which made the place look run down. Again, the location is great, but I won't stay here next time, not so much because of the place, but the owner was odd.

No one can care more about the comfort and well-being of her guests than Connie. This rental has become a second home for us, if only for two weeks a year. We were fortunate to secure a reservation for next year and will be back for Fall 2024. Steve and Marva Tripp, Shenandoah Texas.

My wife and I stayed with our two boys (7 and 11). The house was clean and had plenty of space for our stuff. There was a shed in the back where we were able to stow our 4 bikes. The kitchen had pretty much everything needed to make dinner, which we did on half of the nights. The house is close to the lake, but you can't really swim right there. The coast is too rocky to get in. There is sand on the beaches just a little to the west, but it was just dropped on top some of the rocks about 15' from the water's edge. It didn't extend into the water. If you want a beach, you can go to Petoskey State Park. There is sand there and it is a little easier to get in and out. They have a day pass for $11 or an annual pass for $39. We walked to town several times. You could get there within 15 minutes via a tunnel under the main road. It brings you into town right next to a pretzel place, which you should visit. The bike path next to the house was very useful. We took it pretty far East, but it gets crowded around the marina and town. We wanted to go West too, but the path was closed about 2 miles from the house, which forces you up onto the main road. Because of this, we were not able to go that way. It would have been really nice because the ride towards Charlevoix would have been less crowded and had great views all along the way. We would stay here again. This is a great place to base your Northern Michigan explorations. You can get to all the attractions quickly!
