NOT A NEGATIVE STATEMENT , but a caution to fellow travellers , the hotel is located about 6 kms from town centre so yuo need to rent a scooter or rely on the local transport . NOT a drawback just be aware of this !

Probably best value for money stay we had here in Philippines in 5 weeks. Stayed for 4 nights but it was perfect. Even the food of the restaurant was better than any other restaurant we tried.. specially in El Nido. Staff - just the best. Really our honest opinion. Photos do not represent how good it is.

Lovely, relaxing, extremely clean pool and restaurant area.

Spacious rooms.
The first room we were given smelt strongly of damp.... much more than other hotel rooms we had stayed in at other places in the Philippines. There were lots and lots of mosquitoes inside the room, and the sheets on the bed had visible stains on them.
We were given another room, no mosquitoes and less of a damp smell; however, there were still issues with cleaning - stains on seating/ cushion within room, hand towels, and face clothes smelt very musty, lots of hair in the shower drain. The bed was very uncomfortable; the mattress had no support.
If we hadn't been travelling all day and were not exhausted, we would have left there and then.
The next morning, we were asked how things were. We raised the issues with the second room and how we now just wanted a refund for our remaining 4 nights as we wished to leave. The 5 nights at La Colonial cost us 376€ (26 434 php)... the most expensive accommodation in our entire 3 week stay in the Philippines.
We were told our booking was nonrefundable; but, they offered us a third room (upgrade), and this one was much better. Only a slight odour of damp, all towels clean and fresh. We did have an issue with a leak under the sink and no hot water in the shower; however, these were both resolved as soon as we reported them.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience - we had much better stays in hotels a quarter of the price. With nowhere near the number of issues.
