Surf Side Hotel

Everything about our experience was tremendous except using BOOKING.COM. I will not Ever use them again.

I selected a nice hotel and wanted a room with two queens to experience the Outer Banks for the first time. BOOKING.COM reserved me a room Not at the main hotel building but at an Outbuilding on their property with a back room with a view facing a dune. If I wanted any amenities like breakfast or later wine and cheese etc, my wife and I would have to walk across a parking lot to get it in the main building. I contacted Booking and got calls from Hong Kong, the Netherlands and maybe Atlanta and was told they couldn't do anything to change it. I almost didn't want to come.

The place is very well maintained with exceptional staff.

My only gripe about the place is that it sometimes has an unpleasant musky smell.

Close to the beach very clean

Small parking lot beds a little uncomfortable

The amenities were excellent, the room was clean and adequate. The assigned room was noisy but you could see the ocean from the balcony

Using booking.com to reserve the room was a big mistake. For the second time I’ve used this third party site, and requested a pet friendly room. But when I arrived I found out that booking.com did not set us in this type of room. . This is unacceptable and I will not be using your site for booking again.
