Nestled in Rodanthe, this attractive cottage for $235 per night is a great option for your next break. 2 queens, 2 twins, "Northwind" offers great ocean and Pamlico Sound views! Located on a private road this is the perfect cottage for a getaway! Enjoy the loft with sitting area to read your favorite book while away. This home will show you some magnificent sunrises and sunsets of Hatteras Island. There is a sense of privacy here not afforded to homes in subdivisions. You will be able to watch rabbits scurry along the edge of the open fields. Excellent place to relax away your vacation...at the beach! 3 TV's, loft area, WiFi, Jacuzzi bath tub, basketball goal, fish cleaning table, picnic table, screened in porch.

We really enjoyed our stay. Wanted for nothing, host was kind and communicative. Property as listed.

The home was unclean. Mattress covers soiled, refrigerator dirty, floors and tubs consisted of sand, ice maker frozen and ice dispenser never worked. Microwave had dried splattered food. When my family checked in after a 5.5 hr drive we had to clean the home before unpacking. Downstairs tub did not drain, finally fixed on day 3 of our trip. Lawn with knee high grass. Finally was mowed 6th day of vacay. Our first trip ever to the OBX and it was such a disappointment. Owner was notified and bathtub drain was fixed. Nothing else offered in helping with the uncleanliness of the home. Just that the
“ home was expected to be properly prepared for your stay.” Hopefully this experience will help future guest and owner in checking on how home is being prepared for renters.

Beautiful home but only had one comfortable bed washer didn’t work and mosquitoes were really bad. Daughter had over 50 bites on her. Impossible to play cornhole liked we wanted in the evening because the amount of mosquitoes. Best part were the beaches. It was a holiday week and not many people on the beach which we really enjoyed.

Nice, more traditional beach house. Just off the bridge in Rodanthe. From the top balcony, you can see both the ocean and the sound, and there is an almost unobstructed view to the ocean from the back. Good value, and from this location in Rodanthe, you can easily visit Bodie's Island and further south down Hatteras Island. We enjoyed it, and would stay here again!

The campground across the road was always quiet and they never disturbed us. I loved the new patio furniture and spent many mornings and evenings on those decks with coffee and a book. Northwind suited our family very well and was an excellent base for our explorations. Some family went north to Kill Devil Hills for hand gliding while others went south to Hatteras lighthouse and the Graveyard of the Atlantic museum. We enjoyed sunrises from the upper deck or after a short walk to the shore - access was quick and easy. Kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the enclosed sunporch. Thank you!

Nice house in a very quiet area of the obx. Great view from top deck of ocean. We had a small bridge cutting over to the marsh (unable to access beach) but it was a nice little spot to see wildlife! My family all agree that we would stay again in the future. Our only complaint was the mattress on the pull out couch was really thin. Spacious enough for all 8 members of our group without feeling cramped. Rob was very easy to reach and responsive from start to finish. Perfect location to go north or south for more views of the obx. Definitely recommending this house to friends!

Property was as described, clean and very accessible to the things we wanted to do. Not to far away from the light houses and other parks to visit. Rob does an amazing job with communication and is always very responsive if needed! 2nd time we have stayed here and I’m sure it will not be our last!!! Thanks again for another nice vacation in the Outer Banks!

A most excellent time was spent at the home. We have stayed at Northwinds in the past and we love the location. The home and grounds are well maintained and with 3 bedrooms /2 full baths privacy is excellent. Great kitchen with everything one needs to prepare meals. Two different level decks and a screened in porch make for enjoyable viewing. The beach is an approximate 800 yd walk from the house and if you elect to drive there is a country beach access parking lot with bathrooms and showers with a 10 minute drive of the home.

Home on the Obx
A most excellent time was spent at the home. We have stayed at Northwinds in the past and we love the location. The home and grounds are well maintained and with 3 bedrooms /2 full baths privacy is excellent. Great kitchen with everything one needs to prepare meals. This is the second time my family has stayed in this cottage. It feels secluded down the long driveway. It was very clean and welcoming on the inside. The ocean is a nice short walk away. The views are beautiful. There's so much to do in the OBX - lighthouses, the pier, birdwatching, etc.

Very nice, the only thing that I was disappointed in was the screened in porch. I couldn't wait to set on the porch, but when you sat down you couldn't see out. Bummer!!

The house is a little off the beaten path, well off the highway but not that close to the beach. Yes, there is a small mobile home park right across the fence, but it was quiet and -- with the exception of a couple trailers -- well kept. Our only issue was a bird or pair of birds were coming in through a fan vent in the side of the house and had built a nest in the ductwork that is not easily accessible. The owner-manager couldn't find a pest control licensed for birds that could get to us during the week. The birds were noisy early in the morning, but those sleeping nearest the area adapted by putting on music and earbuds. Not a deal-breaker, but something to ask about maybe. For us, it's just one of those "vacation experience" stories.

The location of Northwinds beach house is very well situated to visit the OBX sites or for enjoying the beach. We stayed the week of July 4th and was not disappointed.

We absolutely loved this house. It was homey, bright, and the layout was perfect. The decks and loft were wonderful, and everything we needed was there or we were told to bring. It was even in the ideal spot, far away from most neighbors but right in the middle of everything that we wanted to see. My Mom and I travel quite a bit together and like to explore everywhere we go to the fullest. This was the first house that we stayed at that made us want to stay in rather than go out. It was that perfect in every way. Seriously. Don’t pass this house up. If we ever get to return to OBX, we would only want to stay here.
