Overall, I am very happy with the unit. We have stayed there before and it is our favorite place. There were a couple of issues with spiders and silverfish. I already spoke to someone out it and she will be getting an exterminator to check the place and treat for pests. There are a couple of loose rails on the upper deck that need nailed down. Also, the ceiling fans were a bit fuzzy and the return air vents needed cleaned. Other than those minor issues. We are very happy with our stay and already have next year booked.

Overall very pleased with Lighthouse View. This was our second stay at a cottage and we love it. Nothing over the top, has what you need and the staff are very helpful when needed. Our family loves the area and we plan to be back next year.

Vacation was awesome. One upgrade would be to have an Ethernet port accessible in each unit for access to the Internet via plug instead of just WiFi. Most units have Ethernet ports in the back of the Cable/TV/WiFi router. Apparently, my unit shares a connection with the adjoined unit and the Cable box is in their unit. So, I could not plug into an Ethernet port.

Great trip. House was in a good location, pool was nice , people were nice, the yard did have some trash that needed picked up and the ceiling fans need cleaned! I was not a fan of no lifeguards on the beach and people fishing at all hours of the day while we were swimming but, we just went to the pool.

The back unit #280 has a great view of the lighthouse and a natural vegetation hedge that contains all sorts of wildlife. We watched a rabbit there everyday as well as sparrows, catbirds, katydids and toads. My kids loved it!
The unit has an outdoor shower, a waterhose and access to shared laundry under the house. I wasn't expecting those extras!! It's an awesome space. The decks could use some maintenance. Watch out for splinters and nails. Overall, we loved our stay and we'll be coming back next year!

Though weather did not cooperate with us. We had fun. The house was nice. Beds weren't as comfy as I like. Water pressure completely sucked. There were no drain covers for the baths, so the kids had to take showers. You can hear everything the neighbors on the other side of duplex do. Don't let this review discourage you. It was a good place to stay and just a small walk to beach! Plenty of restaurants and things to do within walking distance too!!

We traveled down to Buxton from upstate NY for a family wedding and this was a perfect place to stay. Close to the church and reception hall. The short few minute walk to the water and sand was great! The cottage was what we were looking for our 3 night stay, updated and clean, we would definitely come back to this same place again in the future

The rental was nice. A few things weren’t great.. Windows had no screens in them, the deck had broken railings and I had a 3 yr old so that was very scary. The bathroom in the master bedroom didn’t have a tub stopper, the fridge leaked water and we found a few cockroaches in the unit. Over all there were things missing or wrong with the unit when we arrived.

The house was very clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The only problem we had was the fitted queen sheet would not fit our bed so we just used the flat sheet and the flat sheet from the double set which worked out just fine. The house did have a lot of draft coming from the windows in the living room which made us have to turn the heat up more but other than that, our stay was pleasant and quiet. I would recommend this place to anyone but suggest they go in season because a lot of the restaurants are seasonal. Thanks for a great stay!!

Very clean and perfect size for 2 couples to share the duplex — FYI anyone booking the cottages are duplex’s. We liked that there was a community pool/hot tub. It was also a great location and walking distance to several stores, restaurants, gas stations, and the beach. The house also provided linens (towels and sheets) plus paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, dish washer soap and toiletries like shampoo conditioner soap etc. Would highly recommend!
