If you are reading this and still wondering whether you should stay here: this is the go to place!! Just book it.
My father stayed at Pepper Hills before me and called it the highlight of his trip through Sri Lanka. I secretly suspected he might have been exaggerating a little. As it turns out, he wasn’t.
Pepper Hills is a living painting. Mountain views, birds, monkeys, and an ever-changing palette of colours and sounds. Every hour brings a different scene. At 5:30 in the morning, I would simply sit, watch and listen as the world slowly woke up.
The breakfast is delicious, the immune tea is highly recommended, and the curd with honey quickly became part of my daily routine. The staff make you feel completely at home, as do the three sweet dogs who occasionally stop by for a cuddle.
With its natural swimming pool, relaxed atmosphere and evenings around the campfire, Pepper Hills is a place where everything naturally slows down. I arrived with a list of things I wanted to do, but Pepper Hills turned out to be a place simply to be.
The only downside? Eventually, you have to leave. But at least you leave with a full heart, a relaxed smile, (and -in my case - the slightly annoying certainty that my father was right all along. 😉)

The staff were incredibly helpful and took care of everything we needed. The food was delicious, the room and bathroom were very clean, and the lovely dogs were an added bonus. The location is a little outside the city, which makes it perfect for anyone looking for peace and quiet. The freshwater pool was beautiful and very refreshing. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing stay!

It was the place we stayed in the whole Sri Lanka! The vibes, the food, the resort, the staff, everything was perfect! We loved the location because it was outside of the crowded Ella. They have scooters if you want to rent and drive all over the place in really affordable prices but it is also located close a the bus station if you want to use the local means of transportation. The food was REALLYYYYY GOOD! Either the Sri Lankan or the European style food was tasty and we highly recommend it instead of giving away your money to touristic restaurants in Ella. The rooms were super clean and the whole cottage was super cozy and quiet located literally in the nature! We regret that we did not had more days in this resort and for sure we are going to come back again!

Stunning location with outdoor pool, the dorm room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, with recommendations for the area and even helping with flagging down a bus for our next location! They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing
The location was quite far out of Ella centre which was difficult when trying to get transport back after dinner in town, however this was outweighed with the peaceful location of pepper hills. One of the best places we stayed during our trip
