Four Ninety Muskoka B & B

Susan is a fantastic host! She made me feel right at home and went above and beyond to care for me. Her home and garden are truly beautiful and the cabin was perfect for me as a solo traveller. I particularly loved waking up to the hummingbirds outside my window and the amazing ozone spa. I'll defiitely be back!

Easy conversation with the hosts. Helpful knowledge of the town. Delicious food. Comfortable sleeping quarters. Everything is very clean. The tv, and the mini fridge in the room was a great touch.

Exceptionally clean, tastefully arranged, with a flavor of nostalgia and a testament to history.

Susan, the host, was wonderful. She’s got an amazing property with a beautiful garden that’s easy to get to and provides lots of amenities, the standout being the ozone hot top. Everything was spotless and decorated with a warm, cottage charm. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful, served with care.

It’s not so much things we didn’t like, just more they’re a bit unusual so it’s better to go into the stay fully prepared. First, the cottage (we stayed in the outdoor room) is very small - just big enough for the bed and a powder room. The bed is elevated, so you can put your suitcase underneath, but it does mean you have to climb up on it. There’s not enough room to sit anywhere, so even things like putting on your shoes requires you to stand. Also, the shower is outdoors. It’s fully enclosed so there is no risk of being seen, but it is different. The toilet is a compost toilet. It was fine - no odor at all - but we did have to put any paper in a separate trash bin. All these things are more akin to glamping, and we didn’t mind them, but if you’re use to more traditional facilities then this might be a bit too much.
