Property was open for our arrival with key 'left on the table'. The host was minutes away and quickly arrived to meet us and ensure all was OK and encouraged us to quickly settle in. We were setting out on a multi-day hike the following morning and host not only provided loads of useful local knowledge but also went out of their way to facilitate droping off our vehicle and ferrying us back to the start of our adventure.

This is a REMARKABLE place to stay overnight in St Arnault. Although the entrance is off the main road thru town, you feel like you have your own quiet slice of rural life in NZ. The accommodation is big, clean and beautiful. Enjoying the hot tub on a cloudless night under NZ’s starry night was one of our trip highlights. I can’t recommend Woodsmen’s Den enough. You will be extremely satisfied!

The whole stay was just lovely. Just as I expected and so much more. The host Anna was very welcoming and went above and beyond for us allowing a late check out. Very cosy atmosphere with beautiful scenery, everything you need to cook, wash up and relax. The hot tub was spectacular being lucky enough to see a perfectly clear night sky above. Absolutely breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend more!!
Nothing wasn’t to like… if I’m going to be very picky then I would have liked some butter on my toast ;) but in all seriousness the whole thing was perfect. And the complimentary treats were a great addition.
