A good value short stay in a well equipped lodge with a great hot tub in a quiet location.

Peaceful location for a short break. The lodge was clean and well equipped and as described. The hot tub was a key reason for booking and it didn't disappoint, very clean having been refilled before our arrival.

The golf club restaurant was closed in the evenings and we could not get any response from the Baiting House pub up the road. However, there are many good restaurants in Bromyard about 6 miles away. We could not park by the lodge, even to unload the car, and had to use the golf club car park. They did offer us the use of a buggy if needed.

Lovely lodge is quiet and secluded location.

The lodge was lovely, clean and well maintained with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer. The location is lovely and quiet: very rural. Club house food was excellent and they catered for vegan diet. Hot tub was lovely. We will return

The only review you need to read.

Location and Privacy- There are 4 lodges in total with 3 available to book, Saunton and Carnoustie are 3 bedrooms and Porthcawl has 2 bedrooms. We stayed in Porthcawl as a family of 4. Glad we got Porthcawl as the view is spectacular and better than what Saunton and Carnoustie have to offer. You'd see why the views in Porthcawl are better by looking at the top view on Google maps. Saunton is behind Porthcawl and they don't have much views and lack privacy too as our lodge is right in front of there's and behind them are bushes. Their hot tub is in full view from our bedroom window so I'd never book Saunton! Carnoustie and Porthcawl hot tubs are a little more private as they are not placed closely and directly outside anyone's window, but it is still in view and not totally private. Carnoustie hot tub doesn't boast the same beautiful view as Porthcawl though hence why Porthcawl is the best location. Sapey say online that the hot tubs are private so was a little disappointed at first as we can still be seen from neighbouring lodges, and anyone walking down the path towards their lodge have full view of us. Since we went in January the days are short so the majority of time we spent in the tub was night and the outside light was dim so it was private enough and we were comfortable and that's what mattered to us, so they don't lose any stars on that. I know it wouldn't have been the same level of comfort in the summer months. We didn't visit the restaurant, we prepared home cooked meals which we took with us. There isn't much to do around the area so the kids (8 and 7) did get a little bored at times but I love being in the middle of nowhere so I'm not complaining. Would be nice to have some lights on the path towards the lodges as everyone was using their phone torches while walking back and forth. Lodge condition- The Porthcawl lodge exceeded my expectations.

Very comfortable stay in lovely surroundings.

We used all 3 lodges for family and friends which was perfect for us. We were attending a wedding in the area and the lodges provided us with a base which enabled us to celebrate before the wedding, get ready together for the wedding and spend quality time after the wedding.

Fine but poor communication and still owe me money

Fine for this price

They charged £100 security deposit but then, despite me contacting them for it’s return, almost a month has passed and it has not been returned. Staff on the phone don’t seem to know about the accommodation. Mess of a situation. I recommend avoiding it.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Can’t wait to return!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic, made even more amazing by the staff at Sapey Golf and Country Club. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend a stay in one of the beautiful lodges and the home made food! One of the best roast dinners I’ve had!

We had to wait for 1 day for the hot tub to warm up. They could also do with a bin to dispose rubbish on the premises.

The cabin was clean and well presented

The Hot tub did not work from arrival. I called for help but was advised no one was there to help over the weekend. I had to spend extra money and use extra petrol to use the AMAZING facilities at The Elms hotel and spa in Worcester. I have since contacted Upper Sapey golf club to advise them of the above and to of course ask for some sort of compensation/refund due to the hot tub not working (keep in mind, the hot tub was the main reason for travelling there). Unfortunately I have not received any response from them in 48 hours and had to resort in writing a bad review, in which I do not like doing and would have preferred to sort this privately. Disappointing. On another note. I would 1000% recommend The Elms as their hot tubs are in working order. They have a beautiful pool, sauna and spa. Free complimentary drinks (hot and cold) fresh apple juice and fresh apple juice. They have a terrace with an amazing view. The staff are very welcoming and polite. The entire place was spotless. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the decor is mind blowing. You instantly feel peaceful and in ore at the same time.

The Lodge was beautiful and very clean. Beds so comfortable and hot tub great. Golf club staff very friendly and great breakfast. Lovely location for a relaxing break and we will definitely return.

Really had a great stay! Was able to relax and not think of anything for a good couple of days. This is a perfect place

The hot tub was exceptional! The place itself was so quiet and relaxing. A very great treat to those wanting to detoxify from stress and to recharge energy.

The bath tub in one of the bathrooms is leaking because the cover was incomplete. But doesn’t matter because there are two bathrooms.

Perfect for a short break…clean, quiet and the hot tub was a massive bonus!

The property was in a wonderful location, quiet and peaceful and was spotlessly clean. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to the property also!

The mattress in the double room was uncomfortable and you could feel the springs when sleeping on it…it could probably do with being replaced Also it would be handy to have hand soap and cloths provided to clean countertops etc (or to mention that these are not provided)

Get away from it all!

The location is stunning. Beautiful views and rolling countryside literally on the doorstep. The lodge was spotlessly clean. The hot tub was fabulous. The team at the clubhouse (including the golf Pro!) were great when we had questions. The lodge interior is fairly basic and compact, but good value for money.

There was only one person who could answer queries about the deposit, payment details etc., and questions we had once we'd settled in, so if they weren't working, there was a lag in communication. I hadn't realised there was only WiFi up at the clubhouse, not in the lodges (at the time of our visit). With very patchy mobile signal, it was impossible to stream/ connect to the Internet - perfect for a digital detox, but come prepared with downloads if you bring the kids!

Location is beautiful, easy to find, lodges were exceptional, hot tubs were fantastic

Beds could've been comfier, no sugar upon arrival. Wasn't clear whether or not we could eat in the club house, a welcome pack would've been nice to say what's in the local area

It was hard to find the rooms in the dark due to a late check in. As there was only three locations, we rented two, we could not work out easily which of the two we had rented out.

if you are booking for the hot tub - don’t.

spacious, comfy beds, cosy.

the main reason we booked was to relax in the hot tub, it didn’t heat up and the staff simply said ‘it looks like it’s working fine’. they offered no compensation even after explaining we would not have booked the trip had we had known that it wouldn’t work.

It was a spacious lodge with some good facilities. Hot tub was a good addition. Bedrooms were a good size.

The parking situation meant we had to carry all presents, food and Christmas decorations from the car park to the cabin which was a bit of a nightmare. The lodge needs some maintenance done to it, the kitchen tap sprayed out everywhere when on and the bathroom shower leaked constantly. The drains smelt of egg now and again. Wifi constantly dropped out or didnt work. We did speak to someone who we was told was the maintenance man by reception but when we spoke to him he said its not his job and he just rents of the golf course. The lodge wasn't really cleaned when we got in but told it was. we did manage to get in early so didn't mind so much. We did try and hoover up but the hoover wasn't working either. Hot tub was a nice addition apart from no chemicals were put in it the time we was there. It had a float with some in but for the size of the hot tub it isn't enough. Second time we got in it we got back out after 10 minutes as could see it didn't look clean.

Not a bad lodge itself nice and modern however there was quite a bit we could fault. Firstly the microwave didn’t work, the bathroom had water dripping through and the mirror didn’t work. The location itself is a no go unless your playing golf. My girlfriend also slipped over on the decking as it was iced up and no light, I know it’s not always icy but no light there would be an issue even in the rain. The wifi stopped working and we rang through to tell the office and was promised a call back and we never had one. Would’ve really liked to stay here again due to the golf course but the price just doesn’t justify the standards we got

Lodges are well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hot tub is very good. This is my second time staying at the lodge and have a third booked too!

Very hard to get a taxi, a lot say it is too far out
