The place is really pretty, the rooms were very stylish decorated with beautiful view and common space. Great breakfast, try the tropical bowl!

The rooms in the back were very warm, the air condition hardly was able to cool down the room. The front rooms were more spacious but very noisy, felt like being in a big city. Overpriced.

WORST hotel in human History

Absolutely nothing

WORST HOTEL EVER IN MY LIFE, DO NOT STAY HERES. I booked 3 nights for over $1000, there was no water running on the room, there were no towels on the room nor for the pool available, front desk had the worse attitude , no help at all. Also there was no parking or place to leave the car, to go to the beach you need to walk next to a super dusty road, with no towels because for $1000+ they could give you some. I wanted to cancel at least one night an leave and they DIDN'T refund anything at all, even I only manage to stay One out of the 3(yes, that bad that I lost $800) , still no help nor customer service. Super disappointed!!

Exceptional

Our stay at Somos was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The communal areas, adorned with surf memorabilia and art, exuded a sense of belonging. Also Somos kitchen was a delightful surprise. The meals served were not just delicious; they were culinary experiences to remember. If you're looking for a cozy, surf-inspired haven with a welcoming vibe, Somos is the place to be. We can't wait to return for more waves, smiles, and unforgettable memories!

There’s no parking space for cars. There is only a small space in front of Somos Shop which is full of parked motorbikes. You need to park your car on the roadside, which is not an ideal situation, especially if you are driving a rented car. When we woke up in the morning, we were greeted by a horrifying sight - both tires on the same side of our car had been maliciously slashed. It was clear that our car had been vandalized, and we were left with a hefty repair bill and a ruined day ahead. We must note that the hotel's response to this situation was absolutely encouraging and helped us find a local tire repairer at 7.30 am on Sunday.

Super fun surf stay

Airstreams were the best accommodations! Food is good and staff was super nice. Easy to rent from good selection of boards.

Noise level at night, brought noise canceling headphones and didn’t have sleep issues.

Exceptional

Somos was really nice, clean, cozy, and It was clear that the staff wanted to help make sure the guests had an enjoyable time. I stayed in a private room and it had a nice layout. Glen, Tomas, Max Catalina and others were all very friendly auggestimg local recommendations and helping with the booking.

The Rooms are amazing, the staff is friendly, the pool and location is just perfect! Also there is like sometimes live music where everyone from Samta Teresa comes. The vibes in general is so amazing!

Place was cool, but better suited for younger travellers who are out to party.

The food was great. The coffee was great. The place def has its own vibe.

It was pretty loud in our room, noise leaked from the music and social area down below. I knew it was a popular space before I booked, so that was my bad. I just assumed within the room it would be a lot quieter.

At night there was a lot of live music, which is great if you want to stay up later or socialize and party. But if you want to rest I would recommend a different place.

Exceptional

We really enjoyed our stay here! Room was spacious, clean with very big balcony. Common area with pool and kitchen had everything we expected. Food in the restaurant is great. Private parking is also big advantage. We would definetely come back!

The music from the restaurant can be heart to the room, but it is not big deal. They always stopped it before midnight.

10/10 would recommend

The vibes at Somos are amazing! The aesthetic was groovy. Staff was incredibly friendly AND helpful throughout my stay. The FOOD was outrageously fresh and delicious. Somos security kept me feeling safe. And to top it off, the scene was super cool for young travelers.

Great for surfers and those looking to socialize and make new friends. Not so great for couples.

Amazing staff that makes you feel super welcomed upon walking in. Beds are comfy. Cafe is cute.

It’s really hard to sleep before midnight as they play loud music every night till 12. The bar probably makes a lot of money so I don’t blame the business plan. They give ear plugs but that only does so much. Additionally, for the price there should have been breakfast included. I absolutely enjoyed my stay but do not feel you get what you pay for. For $200+ a night I expected more.

Very good

first, we got the wrong room after the change we were offered substitution for the breakfast till the end of the stay. In the middle of our street, we got the new rooms that we actually Bedford and they wanted to decline as for the breakfast for substitution for the rooms in the first it was a very awkward and uncomfortable experience otherwise the staff in the restaurant is super nice. I wish we wouldn’t have this incident report with the room’s mix up. it left a very bitter taste on the whole vacation since we had to discuss every morning regarding this breakfast thing. I wish I would just ask for the money back.

Best stay in Costa Rica!

The people working at Somos are all so friendly and helpfull. We felt super welcome and we absolutely loved staying here. The Deluxe dorm is the best you can get: biggest and most comfortable beds with privacy. We would recommend everybody staying here, we booked an extra night because we didn't want to leave. It's easy to meet new people because there is live music almost every night in the bar. Also, there are some really nice rooms where you can hang out and meet new people: the cafe, the living room, the swimming Pool, playing pool...

It's not the cheapest, but the quality of dorm/food/experience is absolutely worth it.

Amazing hostel in ST

- amazing shared pool and common area - staff very friendly and helpful - joined to the Somos cafe and bar which has great food, atmosphere and music (which finishes and a reasonable time) - we were travelling for our honeymoon and let Somos know, they very kindly left us a bottle of wine in our room which was an amazing gesture

- we arranged a tour through Somos of tortuga island and the bioluminescence. We had a great time on the tour, but it was essentially just transport (bus to a port in Montezuma and then a boat around) which for the price of $100 p/p was very expensive - super minor, but it is at the Playa Hermosa end of ST so is a bit of a walk to some places if you dont have a bike or ATV

The design and materials are incredible. Lovely space to spend time in. Front desk staff are fantastic!

Nice place, not a good experience

Booked a private room. Shower had no pressure and was running only on cold water. Zissa, the girl at the front desk, invited us to use the shared bathroom. The situation would be handled the next morning by the maintenance team. At our discontent Zissa offered us a 20% reimbursement (the reservation had been fully paid in advance) which we agreed to. Still have no notice on the reimbursement although they said it had already been done. Drop them a message and received no answer. Truly disappointing.

A gem in Santa Teresa to stay in!

Somos is a gem for a stay in Santa Teresa. This is a high quality hostel which features a surf board workshop, an accessory shop and a fantastic cafe. The majority of the people hanging around appear to be around mid twenties to mid fourties and vary between travelers or digital nomads. All in all it is a great, chill vibe, food and drinks that are served here taste amazing, and there is live music every night. Usually the cafe area is shut about 11 PM, but hostel properties (kitchen fridge etc) can be used for longer. We did not have any substantial noise disturbance issues during the night and windows were sealing well (it was not entirely quiet, but okay for sleeping). The classes and trips offered here are great! Our surf instructor Allan was exceptional and we felt well accommodated as beginners - thanks to him we were able to progress rapidly. All facilities are very clean and give a very solid impression + towels and bed linen smell amazing! The beach is nearby and can be easily reached by foot. All in all a truly fantastic stay and we can definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Santa Teresa.

We really enjoyed our stay in Somos. The following is henceforth only meant as a constructive critique to potentially improve the experience for future travelers: What we felt was missing in our private room was an additional mirror in the main room and an additional area to sit apart from the desk (i.e. sitting pillows or a small sofa). Furthermore, additional lighting in the bathroom and an hair dryer could be very helpful especially in the evening hours. Lastly, the access to the Wi-Fi appears to be fluctuating sometimes in the common area. Potentially, additional access points may improve this.
