Anu heeft veel ons gedaan: hij zorgde voor veilig en confortabel vervoer met auto's tegen een vooraf afgesproken prijs. Vervoer van Negombo naar Sigeriya en van Sigeriya naar Kandy. Anu organiseerde een safaritour en een bezoek aan een dorp voor goede prijzen. Hij ging mee met met zijn tuctuc naar Dambulla naar de grottempel en de gouden boedha. Hij adviseerde ons een goede eetgelegenheid in het dorp en bracht en haalde ons op met zijn tuctuc on het donker. Daarmee zorgde hij voor onze veiligheid. Hij bracht ons naar de Lions Rock. Anu en zijn vrouw zorgden voor heerlijke, overvloedige en prachtig uitziende ontbijten.
Anu was heel zorgzaam, communicatief en hij maakte het ons naar de zin.
De kamer en de ruime veranda waren confortabel en schoon, geegen in een mooie schaduwrijke tuin.

Super séjour, Anu est un hôte très serviable et généreux. Parmis toutes ses intentions, il nous a emmené partout où nous avions besoin, nous a appris à faire du tuk-tuk et nous a super bien conseillé sur les activités à faire autour de Sigyria.

This stay is amazing. The room was spacious and very clean. There is even a small kettle for tea and coffee in the room. And the bed was the most comfortable I slept in Sri Lanka!!

Anu and his family made us feel at home from the moment we stepped in. De room is spacious and has a very nice terrace in front. Anu took us to a gorgeous sunset point the first night and helped us arrange scooters to discover the area. The breakfast is amazing, we really liked the diversity of local dishes/snacks. There is only a few restaurants nearby but that’s no problem at all because we had dinner at the place twice. It’s delicious and super affordable!

Wir sind gekommen wegen der Menschen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Anu und seine Familie geben wirklich alles, um ihre Gäste glücklich zu machen. Er hat uns mehrere “geheime” View Points gezeigt und überall hingefahren. Extra-Wünsche wurden gerne erfüllt. Das Abendessen und das Frühstück waren sehr reichhaltig und lecker. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und alles Notwendige vorhanden.

Tout ! Le lieu, perdu dans la jungle mais à proximité du rocher du lion. La chambre, spacieuse et bien équipée. Anu et sa famille ont été plus qu'au petit soin, ils ont été adorables de gentillesse et du sens du partage. Anu nous a accompagné avec son propre tuk tuk sur les sites, nous a trouvé un safari à un prix ultra abordable et a fait pour nous 90 km et est resté avec nous 2 jours à Kandy pour nous faire partager sa culture et des lieux incroyables et peu connus. Merci Anu pour tout.

Anu and his family are so wonderful! Super welcoming and kind, and they make a delicious home cooked Sri Lankan breakfast with fresh fruit every morning- I was in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks and didn’t find a better breakfast:) the room is spacious and clean too
The air conditioning stopped working a couple of times (think Anu was getting it fixed though), and I couldn’t seem to get the shower to be hot, but other than that, lovely experience!

Staying at anus is an amazing experience. Not only the room and bathroom is very spacious and spot on clean, but also the food (especially the breakfast) is very delicious and changing every morning.
Thanks to anu and his tuktuk we were able to visit every corner of sigiriya and it’s surrounding!

The hosts are so kind and generous. Anu took us on a little tour of the area, including climbing to the top of a rock to see sunset over Lion’s Rock. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. The bed was comfortable. Hot water shower, and facilities all good. Lovely atmosphere here and a tranquil, calm garden. 10/10 - would love to return.

Very clean nice room, Great location walking distance to the Lion rock.There was hot water, clean towels and linnen and all you need for living. Very kind and helpful and Anu. He also took me around for excursions, Anu is a great man he helped with go to the very beautiful Pidurangala temple, it was really worth it. We liked the breakfast and it was ready by the time we asked and amazing taste food. We really enjoyed and recommend.

Beautiful room with terasse, garden and the most delicious breakfast. The family is so nice, they do everything that you feel comfortable. We had a lot of fun talking with Anu and he drove us everywhere with his TukTuk to a fair price. He makes beautiful wood craft and is happy to show you! Big recommendation!

I had the great luck to stay in this wonderful homestay for 4 night. There’s only one room, they build and furnish the room not long before corona stuck, so everything is brand new . 1 double bed and a single. Very comfortable mattresses. Huge bathroom. Lovely veranda and garden with comfy chairs. The house is in a calm place a hundred meter from the main road there the busses run toDambulla and Sigiriya.There is about 2 km to ticket office for Sigiriya Rock entrance. You can rent bicycles, highly recommended for getting around. Not much traffic . Or Anu, the owner can take you around in his own TukTuk, he is an excellent guide. Ask him to take you to the secret sunset point. A marvellous spot. Anu is so kind, knowable and helpful beyond imagination! He is very creative with wood caving, this shows in many details of the house. Ask him to see the things he is working on.
Anus wife is just as creative, but in the kitchen, I had all my 4 breakfast a dinner there. Absolutely delicious an varied meals.
No wonder they have got 9,9 caracter out of 10 in reviews. Annu and wife and 2 daughters are such a loveable family. After 5 long, nearly a year total, stayes in Sri Lanka, this is my number one homestay. Thank you for your hospitality.

this homestay is exceptional Anura and his wife are wonderful nothing is too much trouble.
as a solo female traveller it is very safe, set back from the man road into Sigiriya only an easy 10 minute stroll to both Lion Rock and the small village and safe from the wild elephants.
local shops are a 3 minute walk to
breakfast is huge and they are happy to cook for you also
Anura also has a tuk tuk taxi so getting around to other areas is also easy and cheap
the room is amazing both beds with proper mosquito nets, lovely linen and memory foam pillows
the bathroom is huge with 2 power showers one rainfall and always hot water
the WiFi is also very good
the whole place is spotless and the resident dog Leon and cat Kitty are super friendly if you like animals
if not Anura will keep them away

the place is perfectly located. The host Anu, drove us everywhere we needed to and provided all the local insights and tips. He is an amazing carpenter and crafted a beautiful box for us. i highly recommend him for special souvenirs.
Breakfasts were varied and filling. We had dinner at the restaurant nearby “bistro cappuccino” within 2 min walk.

If you’re looking for a host that will take care of you like no one else - seek no more. Anu is probably the biggest hearted and most positive person we’ve met in our 2 week trip in Sri Lanka. They cook great together with his wife - traditional dinner and breakfast were so delicious! They prepared it for us even despite very difficult situation in Sri Lanka - they could not get any cooking gas so used firewood. Our 1 year-old absolutely adored Anu and his family. You also have to ask him about wooden boxes, elephants or anything else that comes to your mind - because he carves them himself. He is talented! Maybe you can get a nice souvenir for yourself too!
Coming to the room - this is an absolute luxury for Sri Lankan standards. It’s recently refurbished, air-conditioned with huge bed equipped with mosquito net. Very clean and nicely designed. After a good night, a morning breakfast in the garden is magic.

Anu and his wife are the best and humble hosts someone can imagine. They always give you a smile and make sure you have a pleasant stay. Anu even gave me some spare petrol for the scooter I rented, although petrol was difficult to get at the time to run his Tuk Tuk. Definitely make the village tour and let Anu show you the secret viewpoint which is totally stunning and easily match the views from lion rock and piturangala. No entrance fee no tourist. I even went there for sunset and sunrise. The room is modern, spotless clean and has a comfortable bed. Anu also picked me up from Kandy and brought me to Anuradhapura for a very fair price, including sightseeing stops on the way.

The best homestay in Sigiriya. Location is perfect, the room is spotless clean and the garden is beautiful. Our toddler loved playing in the garden. As of now they only have offer 1 room so it’s awesome that there are no other tourists around.
The breakfast spread was delicious and homemade. Anu took to show us around local viewpoints and watch the sunset. We felt at home and we loved our stay.

Anu is an amazing host, very hospitable, friendly and acommodating. The homestay is super clean, spacious and nicely decorated. You have a nice private garden to relax.

Hospitality of both Anu and his wife was very important part of our Sigiriya experience. Thanks to Anu we had an amazing time on Sigiriya during sunset, we saw all Polonaruwa sites and other places not listed in guide books. The food was amazing!

Anu serves the best Sri Lankan breakfast you can ever imagine. And it is delicious. Every single day, he served 4 different local dishes in breakfast and the dishes were completely different on different days. What more, he served the breakfast at whichever time we asked. The place is not far from Sigiriya rock and Anu himself drove us around in his auto without charges. And for some far off places, we were able to hire his auto. The room is very big and the bathroom giant. We even bought a wood carving from him. All in all, this is the best place to stay in Sigiriya.

Anu and his family have a lovely home and they are so welcoming and helpful. They could not do enough for us to make our stay amazing. Anu drove us around all the local sights in his tuk tuk and has great knowledge of everything. The food was incredible - a delicious home cooked curry and intensive breakfast which set us up for the walk up Lion Rock! We would highly recommend to anyone and we will certainly be back!

This is without a doubt the best Homestay i have ever been to. Anu and his family are so friendly, so much hospitality. Anu drove me with his bike and tuktuk all around sigiriya and showed me the best places and viewpoints. He also showed me a woodcraft shop where he worked before, he now makes the most beautiful woodcraft accesoires at his own. If you have space left in your suitcase, buy something cool from him 🙂
The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. The room was good and clean, the wifi was good. And all of this is located in a quiet and green area. Thank you so much Anu and family. I will definitely recommend your place to friends and family!

Anu and his family are truly amazing people and I feel blessed to have met them.
They only offer 1 room as of now, so you are not surrounded by fellow tourists. Definitely a positive thing.

Everything was perfect; great location, close to lion’s rock and pidurangala. Anu and his family will go out of their way to help you make the most out of your stay in Sigiriya. We really wouldn’t have known what to do without Anu; he drove us around to every (sometimes secret!) spot around Sigiriya. Perfect stay, perfect host: he made us feel like family. Our stay at Anu's was one of the highlights of our trip! Anu and his familiy were very friendly and welcoming. The room was super clean and air-conditioned. The breakfast served included some srilankan delicacies and the dinner was very tasty too. Our host did everything to create a memorable experience of our stay. We especially enjoyed the sunset view from a local hill and the Tuktuk ride through Sigiriya showing us hidden corners of his home town. Thank you!!!

Warm welcome, a very comfortable room and bathroom and terrace to relax in a nice garden. The host did his very best to please. Although the usual cook, the host's wife, wasn't at home because a family member was ill, the host did his best to offer us a nice dinner. Breakfast was exceptional too, with many local dishes we hadn't tried before. The host took us in his tuktuk to Pidurangala Rock for sunrise (a great but challenging climb), dropped and picked us up from Lions Rock ( a must do!) and afterwards for a drive around the countryside, with some great views of both rocks and even taught us how to drive his tuktuk! All for a very small fee. Loved the place!
Everything was great with the accommodation. Just a tip: lots of mosquitoes around sunset, so avoid those 30 minutes to sit outside. No mosquitoes in the room though, probably because there was airco and good mosquito nets available.
