The beaches near Coral Cottage are popular nesting sites for several species of sea turtles, including loggerhead, green and leatherback. There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests (they look like sand mounds and are often taped off and labeled with orange tape), and use only red light flashlights if walking on the beach at night.
