We have been wanting to get back to Acadia for years and we were thrilled to have stayed in Acadia yurts. It is in a nice quiet location surrounded by hiking trails, the sound and ponds/lakes for kayaking. Main Street of Southwest harbor was close by so if you wanted to go out to eat or shop it was minutes away. Our yurt was adorably furnished and so comfortable and clean. The owners thought of everything and were so accommodating and helpful. We also did a few yoga classes on premises which were great. We would highly recommend staying here.

Our stay in Flying Mountain Yurt was a magical experience. The location on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island lived up to it's name, especially compared to the more hectic places in Bar Harbor. It was easy to get anywhere on the Island within 30 minutes of driving including multiple hiking trails, marinas and beaches. Restaurants in Southwest harbor were fantastic. The yurt looks just like the pictures and my husband and I were grateful for the fully functioning bathroom and kitchen with running water. The bed was comfortable, complete with down pillows and comforter. The dehumidifier and heat pump were a welcome luxury. We loved hearing the rain on the dome and canvas roof. Highly recommend this place to stay!

Since we first pulled up we were pleased. It only got better. the entire place had a feel good vibe to it and it definitely added to the charm of the Yurt. We will be back to enjoy more time in Southwest Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Acadia. Thank you for adding to the great time we had in Maine.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Acadia Yurts! The property and the owners are wonderful. The grounds are quiet, accommodating, and just overall rejuvenating. The yurt itself was clean, well-stocked, and felt like we were home. Proximity to the park and Bar Harbor was perfect. We cannot wait to come back.

Had a great stay at Acadia Yurts. The location is perfect, the yurt is clean and the owners are super nice. Loved the wellness center and happy I was able to take part in the offered yoga class with Kristen (awesome teacher!) and try out the infrared sauna. Happy to have this experience. :)

We loved our stay at Acadia Yurts! The yurt was so cozy and comfortable. Karen and Aaron included everything you could need while here and are very responsive if you have any questions. Great location in the woods for privacy but not too far from any hike. We loved being able to bring our Golden with us too!

Great place to stay!! The yurt is amazing/ loved the natural light and the beauty of the surroundings. Karen and Aaron thought of everything- from the sound machine, ear plugs (neither which was needed) to the puzzle in case you need an activity, and the kitchen! I have a hard time sleeping away from home- but I did great in the yurt. So clean and the bed was comfy! Stay here on the Quiet side! We brought our dog too- and had an amazing time!!! Thanks to Karen and Aaron who were super responsive and gracious hosts!

This is our second time staying at the yurts. This time we took my parents with us and got them their own yurt. Everyone in the group enjoyed our stay, even if we lost power for a few hours due to a storm the night before. It's the perfect stay to enjoy nature and still have the comforts of home. Our dog enjoyed his visit too.

The Yurts were an incredible experience!! Very clean, very well maintained. Great to have in-yurt kitchens and bathrooms. Never was cold- there were multiple heaters around the yurt (Even in the bathroom)!
Really neat to have a sky light at the top of the yurt. You could see the stars at night and hear the wind blowing through the trees! Would definitely go back again.

This was our second stay at Acadia Yurts and needless to say, it won’t be our last. Karen and Aaron have thought of everything and are fantastic hosts. The location is perfect - off the beaten path just enough, but still close to the main park, Bar Harbor, etc.

My husband, our dog, and I stayed at Acadia Yurts for a week. The communication with the owners was seamless. The check- in instructions were clear and the process simple. I had never been “ glamping” before but I’m sold on it now! The property is quiet with ample privacy from other yurts. I especially appreciated access to our own charcoal grill and screen house which enabled us to enjoy even more of the great outdoors! We will definitely stay again and have already recommended Acadia Yurts to friends.

My husband and I came here for a little minimoon getaway after our wedding - as a huge bonus, we brought our dog to celebrate! It was the most perfect, relaxing week. The Yurt made our week. It was super cozy, relaxing, and allowed us as a family to decompress after a crazy hectic weekend. We spent the days exploring the beautiful national park and hiking, and ended up spending most nights at the yurt, grilling, spending time outside, and relaxing. We cannot wait to return! The yurt had everything we needed and was the most cozy. We were so sad to leave!!! Thank you again, Karen & Aaron!

We stayed in the Flying Mtn Yurt for 1 week and it was perfect! The yurt was more comfortable than most hotel rooms and had anything you could need including AC. The location was perfect and was not too far from anywhere you might want to go but also was far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. Thank you for a great stay, we will be back again!

This was our first time glamping and we absolutely loved it. The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. All the good things about camping (stars, woods, coziness, simplicity) without all of the bad (sleeping on the floor, communal bathrooms). The sky light/dome was so cool and unique - it let us watch the clouds and stars from our beds as we drifted to sleep and woke up. We will definitely be back!

Staying in the Flying Mountain yurt was so great! The yurt was so comfortable, surprisingly spacious, and everything was so well thought out. Even during a cold snap and nor'easter we were cozy and warm inside. It was a bit difficult to find in the dark during a storm but that is more my fault for the bad timing. Check in was seamless and we had great access to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and everything on the southern half of the island.

Quiet and Cozy Stay in Acadia
We had a blast in the “Flying” (pet-friendly) yurt for our Acadia trip. The yurt was as pictured, very clean and stocked with all of the essentials. Karen and Aaron were incredibly welcoming, even popping by in the evening to drop off some spare linens and towels for us. The property is very quiet while being just a short drive to area trails, restaurants, etc. We felt right at home and would recommend for anyone seeking a unique stay in Acadia!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Acadia Yurts very much. We had originally planned on staying there in autumn 2020 but then the pandemic interfered with those plans. We appreciated our hosts’ willingness to hold the same week in October for us this year and simply transfer the funds that we had already paid to 2021.
The yurt is great in that it allows us to experience the peace and quiet of camping while still having a comfortable home-base to retreat to after a day of hiking, biking, sightseeing, etc. — complete with a full kitchen and bathroom with hot water and a nice shower. We subscribe to the Hello Fresh meal kit and had the company ship that week’s box to our yurt and then saved money by cooking in for three of our dinners instead of going out to restaurants every night.
The yurt was clean and spacious and welcoming — especially for the two of us and our dog. The couch was super comfy, the lighting was good, there were lots of electrical outlets to charge devices, the bed was satisfactory, the plumbing worked smoothly, etc.
We only had a few pieces of constructive criticism. First, the WiFi was very spotty and sometimes we couldn’t really browse the web at all so hopefully that will be improved for our next stay. Second, one of the heaters was a little loud but in our communication with the hosts they indicated that a fix for that issue is in the works. Third, when we cooked there were plenty of pots but only one small saucepan so if a larger saucepan could be added to the Flying Mountain yurt that’d be excellent.
All in all, I think Acadia Yurts has a really cool setup going on with the serene and charming little village of yurts and cabins that they’ve established. The ability to do laundry on-site is really cool, as is the ability to borrow from the supplies shed some household items like soap, spices, olive oil and entertainment like board games, DVDs, books, etc. It’s also appreciated that some common areas are available to guests, including the fire pit and the screenhouses and barbecue grills.
The location of Acadia Yurts is also great, as it’s in a quieter area of Acadia National Park but only down the street from a few coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and a liquor store.
In general, we came away very happy with our stay and looking forward to future visits to Acadia Yurts.
