LOGGERHEAD, GREEN and LEATHERBACK, OH MY! Vero Beach is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in North America. The beaches near Aqua Cottage are popular nesting sites for several species of sea turtles, including loggerhead, green and leatherback. There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests (they look like sand mounds and are often taped off and labeled with orange tape), and use only red light flashlights if walking on the beach at night. SPACE EXPLORATION SpaceX and NASA rocket launches are often visible from the beach or yard at Aqua Cottage. Check calendars for launch dates and times.
