The cottages were amazing! Beautiful outdoor shower and amazing views from the balcony. Also, the people working there were so kind!! And it was so quiet and peaceful.

We had a very good stay at Fox & the Firefly!! The location is very beautiful next to the river and overlooking a meadow. The cottages are located in a tropical garden. The room was clean and has a very nice outside shower and a little veranda offering a nice view. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive and the food at the restaurant (breakfast/lunch as well as diner) is great offering a lot of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Especially the Mango Float is very good, the best one we had so far. They also offer some nice activities, the suptour at night searching for fireflies was really nice. Would definitely recommend the hotel as well as the restaurant!
The bed was a little bit small and the prices in the restaurant are a bit high, sometimes it took quite some time to get our food en drinks.

This property which sits along the Loboc River in Bohol is one of the most enchanting places we've ever stayed at. Here's what we love:
1. Surrounded by nature, peaceful and picturesque. It gives Bali vibes with a touch of Filipino culture.
2. The top-notch service provided by the accommodating and friendly staff. They offered to clean our room without us even asking and they really made sure we were taken care of.
3. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. We just love our stay here. The rooms are complete with toiletries, water, a firm bed, comfortable pillows, etc.
4. The outdoor shower is to die for! They also have a toilet with bidet.
5. The ultra-fast Internet! Wifi was so strong even in our room, perfect for remote workers like me.
6. They also have a restaurant that serves great food at reasonable prices.
7. They also offer other activities such as yoga, paddle-boarding, biking and tours.
The rooms do not have ACs and have fans only. However, we didn't see this as an inconvenience. I'm wondering how it must feel during summer months.

It is really calm place. Staff is super friendly, room has good balcony and also the outside shower looks really good. The restaurant there serves good food. WiFi worked well.

This hotel could be my most favourite place I've ever stayed. First of all, the staff are exceptional. All of them.. reception, waiting staff, the manager (Alvin?), cleaners, security guard. The consistency of their positive attitude and friendliness is like nothing I've ever experienced before elsewhere. We sampled almost the whole menu at the restaurant after eating there 2/3 times a day with drinks in between. In my opinion these were some of the best meals we had in The Philippines. The rooms are unique and I loved the outdoor bathroom. Shower has hot water. Bed and bedding are very comfortable. The team have done a great job at minimising the amount of mosquitos within the room - the inside was lined with insect netting and we were given a plug in deterrent with tablets. Be sure to book tours through reception as our driver was great and I think the price was very good compared to other vendors.
Sending a huge thank you to the team for the fantastic time we had.
There was not enough time in the day to pet the three gorgeous, very well behaved dogs.
Don't worry about the location - jeepneys run very frequently at the end of the road or reception can sort you out with a taxi.

Lots of delicious and healthy lunch and dinner options.
SUP night tour was a great experience!
Not too crowded, as the whole property is not too big.
While lunch and dinner were really good, breakfast was pretty disappointing.
The staff were almost obsequious for our taste, we would prefer a little more relaxation.

Breakfast was delicious and all of the other meals as well. The staff were polite and nice. Our questions and concerns were answered well. We loved especially the bathroom facilities. Also WiFi was stable, strong and fast.
There were only a few minor things that could have been better. Laundry services could have been a huge assett, but one could perhaps prepare for not having those when travelling off the beaten path.

Very friendly staff. The adjoining restaurant serves delicious food.
The suite with view was so worth it for the view, the balcony and the swinging chair!
We reccomend to stay 3 nights like we did. Rent scooters to visit Tarsier sanctuary and Chocolate hills (we reccomend that each one gets their own scooter for maximum roadtip pleasure). We also did firefly kayaking one night but on the Abatan river which is supposedly richer in fireflies and mangroves.
Also, there are friendly and cute pet dogs on the property.
We liked everything.
The transfer from airport was offered for 26eur but we took airport shuttle to Tagbilaran terminal, then bus to Loboc and walk 10 mins and it cost about 250 pesos for both of us. Only reccomended if you travel with backpack.

Great location at the river, nice and friendly staff and good restaurant. We were not completely happy with the room and the staff did everything to make us feel comfortable.
You can still see the damage from the typhoon, the room looks not like in the pictures. The mosquito net had a lot of holes. The outdoor bathroom is nice but there were little black/brown things coming from the roof and it was impossible to keep the surfaces clean, so we could not leave our stuff outside. Yes, it’s nature but we had better experiences with outdoor bathrooms.

They offer the firefly tour overcharged, you can get from locals and also from Loboc River Resort for 400 instead of 950 per person.

The accommodation was amazing! we had the deluxe suit and it had an amazing view from the back and they were comfortabel en big. There was a hot shower and the room was clean. it was a good combination of jungle vibes wood with modern furniture and styling. The employers werd absolutely amazing, they were all very friendly and helpful! they really wanted the best for your experience
the only thing that would have made the stay perfect, if there was a common lounge area. the restaurant is open till 22.00 and after that there is not really a space to chill or talk with friends. so we ended up sitting in the backyard but then people got mad because it was noisey. so a lounge area would have been perfect!
second is that i found the tours a bit expensive for what you got. usually when I book a private tour, it includes lunch, tickets and everything you do. but here we payed the private chauffeur and also all the entrance fees and we didn’t get lunch so we kind of had to ask him to stop somewhere so we could buy lunch. for the price we paid I think it would be nice to have included the entrance fees etc.

The property itself is wonderful. Its beautiful and the cottages have everything you need for a pleasant stay. The staff are the friendliest we’ve come across and were nothing short of amazing.
The only down side is the location is pretty far out of the central part of Bohol. it’s location on the river is amazing, but it’s a bit of a trek into town.

- Place has stunning surroundings.
- Perfect place to either go relaxing or for adventure activities. Even though we met the activities guide and he’s just amazing and very kind and welcoming, I consider activities offered way overpriced (more than double comparing to its places around). I think this is just scaring people off and make them loose many bookings.
- We were hesitant to book here because of the bad reviews. Note they are not far from reality. If everything goes as planned in your trip you might have a pleasant stay. However, if you have ANY kind of trouble or request (the standards one that every place would accomodate) just DONT COUNT ON THEM or with any positive outcome of it. Terrible management.
- I also found a big rat running around our roof (inside, just on top of our bed). I believe it’s something you should count on if you go to places in the nature like this one. However, rat was coming from a hole in the roof that I believe it can be easily fixed.

Nice room with really comfy bed. The outside bathroom was very nice, taking a shower while watching the sky. Staff is friendly and we really enjoyed the firefly suptour. Big compliments for the restaurant: lots of vegetarian options, tasty, nice atmosphere and very attentive staff.
The mosquito net in our room was too small and there were some holes in it. We changed it for our own net. But eventually, there were almost no mosquitos there at the time so it wasn't really necessary.

very beautiful garden, clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and drinks and a lot to do there , the hotel offers a lot of tours:)
the rooms near to the restaurant have moderate isolation ( not completely closed), nice to hear the crickets and the nature sounds, but first night we couldn’t sleep because of the noise from the people at the restaurant, they were hanging out after the bar was closed until 1.30 am and it was really loud and clear in our room. we switched rooms but had to pay for the ‘upgrade’ for rooms that were a bit further from the restaurant.

Beautiful location on the Loboc river. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. They organised a tour for us around Bohol. Food at restaurant tasty and hot.

Very nicely layed out resort that looks very well kept, nice cottages with a very good outdoor shower, a good and vert tasty restaurant and catered trips of the area on offer. Nice SUP to the firefly-tree down the river. Great private chocolate hills-waterfalls tour
