Rooms, private bath, food, staff, all were excellent!
Even though there was some language barrier, the staff tried their best with all. It all felt very much like a guesthouse run by a caring family. Very warm and professional at the same time.
Nothing to complain about, excellent service.

Dinner & Breakfast are good. Attentive staff. The staff, Ridzuan who understood English, explained the food in details and made good recommendations to some shopping at Welcia and ValuMax. Near the beachfront.
Dark parking areas. Need more lightings. Some English instructions with the use of facilities will be helpful. Rigid mealtime.

The Kaiseiki meals were immaculately prepared. You could see the staff’s attention to detail, from the well pressed yukatas, the careful and conscientious meal service, the small treats left in our rooms and the rest area which had coffee and treats. The staff went out of the way to use their English translation devices to ensure that instruction was understood. There was even a QR code at meal times which led to an English menu. There was also an English speaking staff, Ridhwan, on our second stay who was very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed our conversations with him. Overall, we enjoyed the lovely service and wonderful food at the ryokan!

The room was big and clean! The sunrise was amazing and you can just listen to the waves from your room. The staff was really attentive!

A stunning location on the beach with picturesque baths and delicious meals. While most staff do not speak English, each has an electronic translator on them that does good work. Having a little Japanese under your belt will help ease things. Can't beat washing away the day in a rotenburo overlooking the sea.
The futon mats were showing their age and did not provide any cushioning.

Fantastic location, first property at the beach side and only 5 minutes from the train station.
Well preserved installations/facilities (tatami floor rooms with a sea view, restaurant hall, lobby, onsen areas).
Fantastic selection of food for dinners and breakfast as part of the meal plans, cooked perfectly and served just as well.
Finally, and for us most importantly, the staff is simply exceptional. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived till we left. Our stay was fantastic already, but they made it perfect.
The property, while well maintained, is a little bit on the older side.

Food was fine dining quality, view from room was awesome, staff was friedly and helped us with bus timetables. Own bath at the balcony was luxurious. There were yukatas for long people.
Indoor shoes were a bit small if you have large feet.

Disappointing.
Although labeled as a 4 star hotel I think this is probably ~2 stars. The room was in need of renovation and painting, with brown water stains on walls and furniture, and cracks and dents in the plaster. The quality of the utilities provided is low and we ended up using our own shampoo/soap. The location is nice but the windows and balcony needed cleaning to make the view attractive. We were coming from another ryokan in Shima which, for a cheaper price, boosted 3-4 times higher quality with meals included. I am sorry to say that after many years traveling in Japan and using booking.com this is the first time I felt not getting my money worth. The best part of the stay was the private bathroom, which is new. however this is on the side of the building with view of beach but also highway :(. The room and balcony was also a bit dusty, which was not great for my asthma.
old building, rooms with water stains on walls and broken plaster, bad service and cheap utilities. I felt this is not a 4 stars and somehow cheated with price higher than other ryokans which have much higher quality

This hotel has rooms that open up to the beach and allow you to have the sound of ocean waves and fresh air at night. The Japanese breakfast was excellent and very tasty. I would return again and recommend to my friends.
It is a little bit dated but still in very good condition.

The location was perfect and the facilities were wonderful. We stayed inn one of the private onsen rooms but looked at the public onsens and they were just as lovely. The ocean front rooms are amazing. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves and woke with the sunrise, then enjoyed a lovely traditional breakfast. It’s also close to Kawazu falls and a couple of beaches!
The only thing we could have used were better English instructions. We didn’t know breakfast was a hard start time or if the robes were to buy or rentals!

Close to the station and the sea. There were supermarket and pharmacy nearby too and it was convenient.
Great food and great value for money. Most staffs were friendly.
I wish they changed male and the female bath for the night time not only in the morning time. Bath was small and quite crowded to avoids the social distancing.
One lady who was surging the breakfast on our table was quite rushing to serve the food and didn’t feel relaxed.

We loved the location and breakfast was excellent.
I wish people who have tattoos were allowed in the public bath or at least if we were able to block off a time when we can go.
