Aufgrund der vielen negativen Bewertungen im Internet waren wir kurz davor, unseren Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel zu stornieren. Glücklicherweise haben wir dies nicht gemacht, denn das Hotel hat sich als absoluten Glücksgriff herausgestellt: sehr nettes Personal, super Lage, wunderschöner Strand und grosses helles sauberes Zimmer mit Bad im 1. OG (inkl. Kühlschrank und Klimaanlage).

The hotel is in a great location and it has a lot of potential. The people working there are all super nice, friendly and willing to help. The hotel is a bit dated and it really needs some love and a deep renovation. The rooms are very humid and need to be updated

So, what was good... 1/ the staff: as well the team at the reception as the team of the beach bar was amazing. Very friendly, professional, going the extra mile 2/ beach: ok, Holbox is great, but this area has one of the best beaches in my opinion 3/ the restaurant next door was great (BUT that does NOT belong to the hotel.... you are basically an outsider coming to that restaurant)

Ok... let me get started... 1/ overall state of the hotel was below par... Not at the level as one would expect. Is this a 4 star or a 3 star? Tbh, this is NOT a 4 star. (as again the restaurant where we had breakfast, lunch and dinner was not belonging to the hotel) 2/ hotel is outdated, rooms are dark,... for the Europeans here... i had a very big 'camping' feeling here.. No luxury...Upon arrival and when seeing the rooms I asked for an upgrade (which I got and for which i paid btw). I got what I assume was the best rooms are they were the only 2 rooms with a beach view. These rooms were big, but again outdated. (see ge bathroom) Other elements of being outdated: there is a swimming pool (yay!), but if you look closer, you also see this is outdated. Same for the sunbeds: compare the sunbeds with the ones of the neighbours, and you see the difference... 3/ as this hotel has no restaurant and is not organized to serve you drinks etc... I needed to pay every day the bills... I was hoping to put everything on the rooms and pay at the end 4/ when asking how i could formulate a complaint, I felt that the owner is a bit 'away'.. And as I had no way of complaining officially, i think it's better i share my comments with fellow travelers This was an overall disappointing experience. We have travelled a lot and I feel i was naive, believing the score here, in combination with the 4 stars.
