The hotel was very clean, friendly staff and food was good.

The place is a solid 4. Our room doesn’t have a view and face the west sun, I think you should choose a different facing one. If you want to see more of Cabo, consider renting a car at airport. The transfer takes a long time and I got car sick on the big bus. Do your research and book activities early. The best dinner spot is Krystal.

We requested for double but the request did not go through at check-in -which required extra time to coordinate. The rest went excellent!

We came to Riu on our honeymoon and had an absolute blast. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed and huge shower and bath. The mini bar was stocked wonderfully. The Santa Fe is right next door and if you are on the side facing it then you will hear the Riu Parties late into the evening. The food was delicious and service was next level. They had lots of non-alcoholic options, but you have to clarify and sometimes come back for a cold beer. Adult only was a huge plus and would recommend for people in there 20's and 30's for a great all inclusive time!

The resort is old, unsanitary, dirty, customer service is awful. Broken furniture, ripped carpets. Blood on the sheets. Terrible experience. Ended up leaving the resort after one night.

The hotel was nice. It’s all inclusive. We appreciated the adult only environment. There are several speciality restaurants so we didn’t get tired of eating in the hotel while we were there.
The only thing we didn’t like was the room location. We requested two beds but initially got a one bed. The only room with two bed was in the bottom floor without any elevator access. It was not pleasant to carry the baggies by ourselves. They didn’t bother to send a bell boy with us when we changed the room.

We enjoyed our time. Made the best of it. Check in service was poorly handled and had to get management involved that didn’t handle our issue well either stating it has to do with their corporate office policies and they are the only ones that can help us. They would not help us contact their office and no one answered any numbers we could find as we sat in the lobby.

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon. After reading reviews for months we settled on RIU Baja California as our destination in Cabo. We decided on an oceanfront suite and up purchased to the Elite club. Upon arrival check in was smooth and bags were taken to our room so we could begin exploring. The entire week, the service was AMAZING. All of the staff were friendly and aimed to keep you happy. The property was extremely clean as was our room. There were many restaurant options and nothing we had disappointed. The elite club restaurant which is only available to the elite club members was UNREAL. The views from this restaurant are also really good. Drinks were great. I could literally go on and on.
There is transportation available to get to the marina for a small fee and the bell boys will get you transportation and direct them to where you’re going.
The ONLY thing we wish would have been a little better was privacy on the beach area that is roped off for RIU guests. The beach vendors are extremely nice but the constant “no thank you” reply’s as they walk through all day makes it a little less relaxing. We stayed in the pools most days because of this. While I understand this is how they make their living it’s also at times slightly irritating.
Finally, if you’re looking for a resort with peace and quiet THIS RESORT IS NOT FOR YOU. Riu is very much an active, happening resort. There are shows, music, parties, etc. We LOVED this but know it’s not for everybody!

Love the resort! I just Wish there was more entertainment

We loved the Baja California resort, but the Rio, Santa Fe next-door was extremely loud with thumping music some nights. If you can handle that, then, this resort is great… Very attentive staff, very clean, any time I called room service they were there within five minutes. Overall a great place if it weren’t for the next-door property.

Noisy, staff was bothered by us requesting extra towels and pillows. Food was below average. No name alcohol.

We stayed at Riu Palace Baja California from 01/07/24-01/12/24.
LOCATION 5 Stars
POOLS 5 Stars
ROOM 3 Stars
FOOD 2 Stars
SERVICE 2 Stars
SERVICE: On night #4 we were woken up at 3am by an overwhelming sewer water odor filling our room. Dealing with the front desk was a disappointing experience. He made it seem like I was bothering him and did not want to give us another room. Packing all of our things up at 3am was bad enough, but the front desk staff made it much worse.
The waiters and workers were very friendly! But our experience working with the front desk was really disappointing.
LOCATION: LOVED the location right on the beach. Especially LOVED that we could walk to the adjacent Riu Santa Fe and Riu Palace, and eat/drink/explore.
FOOD: The food was mediocre. Nothing was cooked to order at any restaurant. Even the separate restaurants did not prepare food fresh. It was all prepared in advance, and a waiter filled your plate and brought it to the table. We visited nearly every restaurant, including the neighboring Riu resorts. The food was a huge disappointment.
ROOMS: The rooms look nice, and I loved the balcony! However the beds were cheap and uncomfortable. When the other person moved or rolled over, the whole bed moved. We tried 3 separate rooms (due to sewer odor) with the same result.
POOLS: Fantastic! Absolutely loved the numerous pools, including 2 swim-up bars. The cabanas, pool area and lounge areas were top-notch!

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. Our bedsheet had a big blotch of blood on it upon arrival which I found repulsive but I reported it and they replaced it. Not sure how it was missed to begin with. For the most part, the staff was good but a few were too busy socializing with one another and getting their attention was annoying at times.
Definitely, less talking to each other and more focus on the job should be explained to some of the staff.

The RIU Palace Baja California is a beautiful property. The food was amazing with many choices. The rooms are updated and very clean. The service and staff were very accommodating. My only complaint was the cleaning of the pool deck around the lounge chairs could be better but overall the resort is excellent.

The resort looked well kept and clean. There were a variety of restaurant choices and the staff was extremely kind. The views were amazing and it was a relaxing time. Only downfall is the entertainment, the shows are not too entertaining. It was awesome when they were doing karaoke but that was short lived. Also, the parties are next door at Santa Fe which makes no sense if Baja is supposed to be the adult only resort.

This was our first stay and a RIU and overall we enjoyed our stay. We had an oceanfront suite and Elite Club. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, but the room, location, and overall amenities were nice. The food was plentiful and despite having more premium dining options, we preferred the regular restaurants. Room service left a lot to be desired but it was nice to have it included. We will definitely come back!

Nicely and newly built property. Very nice views to the main attraction of this place. Food quality is good but lack in variation between days. Should introduce Asian/Indian menu to attract more people.
Our room service attendent took some money from my wallet I left behind while went to the beach. I know it's a human nature and hard , but that is where trust factor lies when you leave behind everything in the room and can't put everything everytime in the locker. My fault too, I should have kept it in locker.

The staff were amazing. My room smelled so bad and unfortunately we had to deal with it. I also didn’t get the view I paid for. The food was not great but that’s expected at all inclusive. The flys were so bad there we didn’t feel comfortable eating outside at all. I would give my overall experience a 8/10 and that is only because the staff are GREAT!

My biggest complaint about this hotel was the food. The restaurant food was cold and overcooked. The staff was great, but the food, I hate to say it was not up to par. It was horrible.

The upstairs tub leaked into our tub multiple times during our stay only to be addressed the eve before our departure. If your room is facing the Santa Fe resort it is very loud in those rooms facing that property. Room service menu is lacking choices from the restaurants on property.
If you get ill and ask for those restaurants options the answer is no. You can take out from one buffet as the alternative to our request.

We had a good room, clean and roomy with a balcony that faced the bay. The housekeeping kept forgetting stuff like hand towels, shower mat, glasses, pillows. We called for them and they would quickly bring them or we would get them from the cart but it got annoying.
The pool area is good but it is not washed down each day so they have a horrible bee and fly problem. I had to wiped down our chairs and table each day.
Staff is nice but not like in other resorts where they pause for you to walk by. Here they are in such a rush it them first.
The food is barely edible. We went out for dinner each night after the first two nights of food disaster. Breakfast and lunch are just ok.
It’s 20-30 minutes walk to town either on beach or walking via street so that was convenient.
Lounge chairs are reserved by 5:30 am even though there is a sign that reserving is not allowed. It is not enforced and guests would show up 4-5 hours later.
We picked the hotel for the adult only feature but it needs improvement.

Good location, fun activities ( the majority of the Shows were OK, but not excellent) Fun in Riu-Party.
The food was abundant, good quality. The drink service is excellent.

BUYER BEWARE! Make sure you read the reviews of this hotel on multiple websites. I read great reviews and was let down. There were many pros and cons. So let's start with the pros:
-Great location close (ish) to the marina, Squid Row, and it is on the beach
-Beautiful hotel
-Staff works hard to keep it clean
-The Riu parties are FUN (if you like dayclub type pool parties)
Cons:
-THE FOOD. The food gave us upset stomachs EVERY night we were there.
-THE DRINKS. A lot of reviews said the alcohol was top shelf. It is far from it. Smirnoff for Vodka, Beefeater for Gin, Jose for Tequilla, and Bacardi for Rum. The alcohol is watered down and a TON of sugar added
-The cleanliness: the staff does a great job of keep the place picked up and swept. But they did not change the sheets the entire time, we finally requested it on day 4. They sprayed cleaner in the drinking glasses and turned them back over, never replaced them. In fact, they did a lot of spraying cleaner and not actually wiping anything. Last, they re-use the plastic cups from the pool parties. These are meant to be thrown away, but are re-used
-VERY rowdy guests, which can be a pro or a con
The bottom line is: If you are looking for a typical college type party vibe, this place is for you. Just bring some pepto for the food. If you are over 25 or looking for something a bit nicer, there are plenty of other resorts to choose from within a similar price range. 3/5 stars. It was fine, but I would not come back.

This was our first time in Cabo and we reserved this place thru Expedia because we found a good deal. This was also our first time going to a resort with all inclusive options.
The resort is awesome and very relaxing and right on the beach....the open bar in the pool is definitely very appealing. Food variety is very good with one exception: Krystal restuarant in Riu Palace ALL adults is terrible....in terms of customer service and food options and food quality/quantity.
Lastly, despite the friendly staff all around the resort with very willing to help, it would really help if the resort would have staff with better English language so we can communicate better. That was a challenge all around, the check in to room service to servers to utility staff....just about everything.
But overall our stay was fantastic and we really enjoyed Cabo and Riu Palace....the evening events were also very good.
