About this condo rental
Nestled in Funchal, this lovely condo for $154 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. This self catering ocean facing, waterfront apartment, set on the cliff top, in landscaped gardens with a swimming pool is in a excellent location for your holiday rental, relaxing, peaceful, romantic. From the balcony watch the sunrise over the Desertes Islands, and later in the day you can just relax and take in the stunning views, listen to sounds of the waves, watch the sunset in the evening, and the moon glistening on the water at night. Although, the apartment is only a few minutes walk to restaurants, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi's ranks, bus stop and promenade walk, with its cliff top position, it is well away from the road, in a wonderful location. The centre of Funchal, is a pleasant 10-15 min walk. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard, fully equipped for your every need, to enable you to have a relaxing holiday. We are there to add that personal touch, and greet you on your arrival, and answer any questions you may have. Mondays changeovers are preferred, but we can be flexible when possible. On your arrival: On your arrival I can arrange transport for you to and from the airport, we have taxi driver's we have used for many years, and are friendly and very reliable, and speak very good English. They will collect you from the airport and take you to the apartment where we will be there to greet you and show you around the apartment, and to answer any questions you may have. There will a welcome pack for you on arrival also. If you should need any extra help or advice during your stay I would be pleased to help. The apartment is very central, with good transport available close by, so hiring a car is not really necessary unless you wish to, and if so there is public car parking along side the drive way down to the apartment building. Parking is metered, but available, but can be busy during certain times. if you need more information, please ask. There is also a hire car office in the courtyard of the apartment , so if you do wish to hire a car for the odd day, it is very convenient for pick-up and return of the car. We have tried to put all the little extra touches to the apartment to make your stay more enjoyable. During your stay: There is a portfolio of useful information which includes maps, leaflets from local attractions, restaurants to try, excursions, wonderful walks, exotic gardens, golf etc. If you are golfers there is our two challenging golf courses in Madeira,- Palherio, which is a short 15 mins drive, or Santo Serra, which is 35min drive. We are pleased to be able to offer a 30% discount on green fees at Palherio Course. Sunbeds available for sunbathing in the gardens. The balcony is a beautiful relaxing setting, with panoramic views, it is a lovely spot to retire to after your day of shopping or exploring this beautiful island, which our guests find very hard to leave. On your departure: On your departure we will return to the apartment to bid you farewell, and to ensure you have had a good holiday. The time of departure from the apartment on the day is flexible, depending on the time of new arrival's. The usual time of departure is 10am, but luggage can be left until your departure to the airport. Registered - T.of Portugal- 25337/AL.

Just as it says in the VRBO description its a well managed apartment run by an owner who cares about her guests.So popular that she has it booked out the majority of next year.Only drawbacks are with overuse both bathrooms will need some renovation in the near future.
The apartment access is via a very steep road and th entrance door is down a further 20 steps. Not good for anyone with any disabilty

Having stayed in hotels close to the apartments in the past
we were very happy with the location. The apartment was very well appointed and the sea view from the living room with balcony, made for a relaxing time. TV and wifi all good and the kitchen well appointed. The shared swimming pool and surrounding garden were never crowded so no problem with sun beds.
Rose Marie greeted us on arrival and helped us settle in.

Rose Marie was a delight, she met us although we were running a bit late, she provided us with some tasty treats, fruit, bread and wine.
My husband and I are 60 years old, we relied on the buses. The number 1 & 2 bus stop about a block away and the number 4 bus turns at the "Hole in One" about a block and half away. Going into town the buses are at the top of the driveway. We really enjoyed our stay, we loved our morning coffee & tea on the balcony, the pool, and exploring Madeira!

A superb apartment with wonderful views over the Atlantic. You could not wish for a more conveniently located apartment for Funchal. Rose Marie provided Wine, eggs, butter etc., to tide us over until we shopped. She also sorted out the transfers etc., and could not do enough for you. Absolutely recommend, first class. Many thanks for a lovely and one of the best holidays we have had.

The advantage of this is that there is no shortage of pleasant bars and restaurants with a (not-totally flat) promenade for strolling and a shaded park area. If you want to spend time in the city centre (or use it as a starting point for other journeys), the buses are reasonably frequent from a nearby bus-stop - but even in April they are often so full that you may not be able to get on. The city centre is also walkable at about 20-25 minutes to the CR7 end.

Lovely time in Funchal
We had a lovely stay in this holiday apartment.
It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
The views where stunning from the balcony and the pool area. The pool area was very relaxed and a nice place to chill.
It's around a 20min walk into the centre of Funchal. However it's in a nice area with lots of restaurants, bars, lidos and there is a beach around 10/15min walk away. There is a bus stop nearby and it's easy to access public transport or arrange tours ect.
We arranged a transfer with David the owners go to taxi driver. We ended up taking a half they tour with him on our last day before our flight. This was lovely and great value (75euro).
This apartment is in the perfect place looking out to sea we really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to visiting Madeira again ❤️

Fabulous apartment and Location. Madeira is perfect.
Our host was very helpful on check in and the apartment is just as described in the listing.
Thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will definitely be back. Madeira is a lovely place with plenty to do or not whatever you prefer. Apartment had all we needed and was peaceful and quiet.

Spacious apartment in a superb location
A very comfortable apartment, well equipped with everything you need. The pool area is lovely and clean and the water a perfect temperature. Fantastic views from the balcony and a nice walk into Funchal or easy enough to take the bus or taxi if preferred. There is a supermarket close by with fantastic fresh produce and many restaurants to choose from in the immediate locality. The owner arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport which I highly recommend. We took a couple of tours with the same taxi driver (Manuel) during our holiday - he was the perfect tour guide and very easy going. Definitely a 5-star holiday!

Spacious sea-view apartment.
The apartment was well furnished with stylish,comfortable furnishings. All possible, quality, equipment was included. We were impressed that the reality was better than the web site. Well done Marie for finding this place in an excellent position and equipping it so well. It is near to many restaurants and has easy access to all the tourist amenities. The garden and pool area were peaceful, clean and with super sea views.

Perfect location for a DIY holiday in Madeira
Great accommodation - plenty of room and lots of facilities and a private pool (for the block) and the ocean just a few yards away too!. Perfect location for a good stroll into the old town and plenty of v v v nearby restaurants for lazier nights!

A wonderful way to stay in Madeira
Amazing property spacious , spotless , so well equipped with everything you could possibly need . A wonderful welcome pack to get you through you first couple of breakfast s and even a bottle of wine to enjoy on the balcony with a view and what a view the host mrs Thompson was there to greet us on arrival , friendly informative took us through the apartment lots of info in folders in apartment lots of wonderful comments from previous quests many were returning customers , we were there when World Cup was on managed to get it on t.v in app but unfornately not in English , tv very limited English channels mainly news channels , so if you like your English soaps they not available .
2 bathrooms only used one shower excellent good temperature ,power, very well equipped with plenty towels , pool towels also available
Only used pool once during stay , there is a woman attendant weekdays constantly sweeping using hosepipe etc but didn’t see anyone cleaning pool and it was very dirty full of very large insects so I’m afraid I couldn’t bring myself to go in my husband did and said the water was quite warm but he agreed it was rather dirty lots of sun cream floating on top . But there is lots of lidos all down the coastline if you like a pool .
The apartment is in a central location took us about 45 min to walk to the fish and flower market in the centre of Funchal .lots of public transport if required , lots of places to eat nearby .
This was our first time in Madeira found it to be a very pretty island , enjoyed our stay did all the must do tourist things cable car , toboggan ride ( very disappointing ) . We bought a return cable car ticket but once you go on toboggan run you are then half way down with either a very difficult uphill walk back to the top or get a taxi they charged 25 euros to go back to the top an absolute rip off but you options were very limited had we known we would have bought a one way ticket then walked the hill down after toboggan ruN .
The tour bus is great value at 17 euros each for two days , you don’t have to have consecutive days we did fri and Sunday , get a good 2 hours run to see some beautiful places Hop on hop off how you like

Would highly recommend this apartment you will not be dissapointed 5 stars all the way .

Great Ocean front apartment!!!
A great apartment for two couples or a family having 1-2 children. Bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, kitchen and especially the balcony with a beautiful view to ocean are all great. And of course not forgetting the lovely and helpful host Rose Marie. And the price, about 600 euros a week for us four, it is VERY reasonable. Absolutely five stars!

Amazing views!!
We left Yorkshire in a snowstorm and arrived to a lovely sunny evening in Madeira. We were driven quickly to the apartment and welcomed by the very friendly Rosemarie who had provided a pack of groceries so we did not need to shop straightaway. The views from the balcony are outstanding - we spent many happy hours soaking up the sun and gazing out to sea. The weather was sunny/sunny spells with average temperatures of about 20C. The apartment is very comfortable and is fitted out with everything you need for a lovely holiday. It is approximately 25 minutes walk from the centre of Funchal but there are lots of buses if you don’t want to walk. Taxi fare back was 7euros. There are many cafes and restaurants close to the apartment so there is no need to cook. The apartment also has lots of information about places to visit and things to do. We left already looking forward to our next visit!

Another fabulous stay
Rosemary”s apartment was.just perfect for us. It was well furnished, comfortable and the location, close enough to walk into Funchal and on a bus route for ease of travel around the island, made it an ideal place to stay for me and.my 80+ year old mother. The welcome basket was much appreciated and the views from the balcony cannot be beaten, although we weren’t fortunate enough to see dolphins this year! We will definitely be back.

We, my wife and me stayed in this Apartment the second time. Last year in june and this year in January 15th to 29th with the daughter and step son. Rose Marie welcomed us when we arrived. We love this apartment very much because it is well equipped and very clean with a good location to Lido, shops and hotels. The view from the balcony is just stunning. It has never been boring for us and the whether was perfect for this season.

Fantastic Apartment!
We stayed at the Apartment for 1 week with my mother and we wish it had been for longer. The apartment was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Rose Marie certainly has thought of everything. We had a welcome pack waiting for us with rolls ready for our lunch! The views are exceptional and the balcony was perfect for breakfast and pre dinner drinks!
Rose Marie was waiting to greet us and came to say goodbye when we left.
We will definitely be back!

Perfect Apartment - Accurately described
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, in fact we have already been boring friends with just how perfect it was, and looking at the calendar to see when we can return. Marie and Adrian were very friendly and supplied us with lots of useful information. We appreciated the welcoming bottle of wine and thoroughly enjoyed having a glass out on the balcony overlooking the sea in the early evening before heading out to eat at one of the many, many restaurants nearby. The main bedroom had plenty of storage and the bed was very comfortable. We found we sometimes couldn’t sleep with the window open as the restaurant next door had a noisy extractor unit which was often still running at midnight, but the room has an overhead fan as an alternative. The pool was never busy and perfect for relaxing by and having a dip.
We had hired a car for part of the holiday and had been warned by Marie that the metered on-street parking could sometimes be tricky, but we usually found a space without too much trouble.
Although the centre of Funchal is only about 20 minutes away the walk is along roads busy with traffic and is easily reached by bus or taxi.

Fantastic !
This is our second stay at this lovely apartment and it won't be our last. Hopefully we'll be back next year. The apartment is well furnished with all you will need for a great stay. There is a great welcome pack from Marie and Adrian plus Marie will organise a taxi, we had the lovely Manual, to pick you up from the Airport and take you back for 28 Euro's a trip.
The apartment is lovely and central too, so every thing is on your door step.

The flat, which is situated in the tourist-area, is nice and clean. From the balcony there is a fantastic view to the garden and the sea.

This apartment is in a fantastic location right by the ocean with stunning sea views.
It is superbly furnished with all modern facilities as described on the website.
The bed linen is lovely and changed weekly.
The owners, Rosemarie and Adrian are so helpful and arrange airport pickup if required by taxi.
Its location is handy for the local buses (cheap to use) and there is an abundance of restaurants in the vicinity to suit all tastes.
We have been going to this apartment since 2007 and highly recommend for adults who like a home from home place to stay to relax and enjoy Madeira.

Lovely apartment, fabulous views
Spent a very relaxing week here with my 82 year old mother and we had a wonderful time. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped and the view from the balcony was stunning. There is nothing better than having breakfast in the sun overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean whilst Britain is shivering under a layer of snow! Ideally situated close to bus stops it is also near enough to the centre of Funchal to walk in and there are plenty of restaurants within a short walk, including Moby Dick's just opposite which serves excellent food. The welcome pack was much appreciated, particularly the fresh rolls and the wine, and Rosemarie was there when we arrived to give us local information and advice. Although we didn't use the pool it looked well maintained and the gardens were immaculate.
I highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to return.

What a wonderful Apartment
We have stayed four times in Madeira now and this is by far the best apartment. It is even better than stated in the owners description. It was clean tidy and with a touch of luxury. Without a doubt one of the things that was special about the department was the view from the main balcony, we would have no trouble living with it. Just to get up in the morning to see the sunrise and spot the cruise ships sailing in was a delight and to relax in the afternoon after a morning in Funchal, glass of wine, book to read and knowing how awful the weather is at home.
The taxi from the airport was arranged by the owners and made for a stress free start. Rosemarie was there to greet us and the welcome pack meant there was no need to rush out to a supermarket.
The Yellow file is full of useful information and the comment books are an excellent guide to local restaurants. Recommend Moby Dick which is across the court yard from the entrance to the apartments. There is a bus stop on the main road which is about 100m from the flat, it is up hill but that does make coming back easier. Funchal is about 15/20 minutes walk but does tend to take longer as you will keep wanting to stop to look at things.
We will be staying here again and have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.
