This apartment has a nice comfortable living- and dining-room, two bathrooms and a large balcony with an excellent panoramic view of the bay and the mountains. From this 52m2 balcony you can enjoy a stunning sunrise. It is also the perfect place to have your meals and to watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. A fully equipped kitchen provides you with all the kitchenware you need to prepare a meal. You can find restaurants, pubs, bars and supermarkets nearby. You have access to the sea and to swimming-pools within a very short distance and for a reasonable price. If necessary you can use the building’s car park, free of charge. Right in front of the apartment block there is a bus station and you can easily find a taxi. If you like walking you can go to the town centre on foot while appreciating the beautiful sights and gardens. What an amazing time we had staying in this lovely apartment. The views are fantastic, all round panoramic for the mountains and sea. It is well situated, outside the city of Funchal, but close enough to all the amenities between Funchal and the Lido. It has all you need for a self catering week on the beautiful Island of Madeira and Ana, the host, was so informative and helpful throughout. We will certainly be booking for next year.

This lovely classic apartment on Estrada Monumental in the heart of West Funchal is a perfect location for seeing all that Funchal and Madeira have to offer. A very comfortable and well-equipped apartment with a gorgeous balcony viewing all of Funchal and the bay. Great care and communication from our host Ana and a secure private parking spot was included with our rental. She was very flexible and accommodating and we loved this home base. We had an excellent experience and would highly recommend this location and rental. Many restaurants and shops are right out the door. Buses are also easy to access and many places are easily walkable as is common in Funchal. Taxis can be called also.

Fantastic Apartment
Even though our flight was 4 hours delayed Ana and Mario were at the apartment at 01.00 to meet us and show us around. 2 Beds, 2 Shower & toilet rooms. Air con in the lounge / dining room and 2 awnings to cover part of the external terrace where the dining table was. The views were superb 40% sea and 60% Funchal and the surrounding hills. We also had the privilege on Saturday night (10.30) to see the fire work display from a birds eye view. Check the cupboards out for local information on buses and Maderia. A small supermarket is 50 yards away, enough in here for sandwiches, salads and a few evening meals ( on the terrace with exceptional views). Kitchen has a coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer and washing macchine. Superb base.

Très bel appartement et hôtes parfaits
L appartement de Ana et Mario est en tout point conforme à l'annonce, d'une propreté remarquable et très bien équipé pour 4 personnes. Le dixième étage permet d avoir une très belle vue sur le port et d'être préservé du bruit de la ville. La place de parking est un vrai plus. Ana et Mario sont des hôtes remarquables, ils ont répondu très vite à nos demandes avant et pendant notre séjour et nous ont donné de bons conseils.

Wir waren mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden. Die Lage ist sehr gut, viele Lokale in der Nähe. Die Ausstattung top, es fehlte an gar nichts. Der Blick ist fantastisch. Es hat alles reibungslos funktioniert, Ana und Mario sind gute Gastgeber. Gerne kommen wir wieder!

Exactly what we had hoped for
First impressions were brilliant, our hosts Mario and Ana met us at the garage level of the building as we had hired a car. we were given the zapper to allow us to take the car in and out for our holiday. a quick zip up to level 10 and you get the fantastic views shown in the photos. The whole apartment is perfect, so often there are not enough chairs/glasses/mugs/plates in a rental, not this one, we had everything we needed. Ana had left us some goodies for our arrival and after a quick trip to the local supermarket we were set. there are several shops in short walking distance and LOTS of restaurants to choose from. We heard nothing from either the apartment next-door or the one below, you get general city noise into the evening but otherwise it was easy to lie in the morning, especially if you close the shutters and the blackout curtains. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment for your holiday, unless you don't like heights, or just don't look down!!

Ana was there to meet us when we arrived. When you ask something by e-mail you get within a very short time a reply. The apartment is so well equipped. Everything you need for a nice stay was there, even more that we have at home!
Everyday we enjoyed the beautiful view from the huge balcony. In the direct surroundings of the apartment are a lot of shops, terraces and restaurants, so you don't need to go to the center of Funchal. When you want it anyway, it's only 20 minutes walk. We could park our rental car in the closed parking under the building.
We can recommend this apartment to everyone who wants to visit Madeira, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful apartment with excellent views
Excellent service from Mario and Ana from our initial expression of interest to the end of the holiday. Mario replied immediately to my enquiries and Ana was there to meet us when we arrived. Lovely additional touches for our stay such as a bowl of fresh fruit and nibbles. All essentials were provided including toiletries and beach towels. The apartment is exactly like the photos. The huge balcony and views to the sea and mountains are fabulous. Ideally situated, the apartment is a 20 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. There is a bus stop outside the apartment and a taxi to the centre is only about 6 euros. The apartment is very roomy and comfortable and a delight to return to in an evening after a full day out. There is a supermarket next door and lots of really good restaurants within a few minutes walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Madeira. We will be back and would love to stay in this apartment again. Thank you.

We arrived at the airport and were met by a local taxi arranged by Mario and Ana (property owners). On arrival at the apartment Ana showed us the apartment and greeted us with a fresh fruit basket, cheese, Madera wine and more.
The apartment itself is modern, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable with everything you would need during your stay. This apartment has a million dollar view. From the huge balcony we could watch the fireworks, the ocean and the mountains.
This neighbourhood is very lively. There is a convenience store just next door, a bus stop just in front the apartment, plenty of bars, tour kiosks, car rental agencies, café's and many excellent restaurants close by. One of my favourite restaurant was Frango da Guiia, just 2 blocks away. They make excellent piri piri chicken and espatadas.
The owners are very nice and helpful. We had a beautiful stay at this apartment and we would return again with no hesitation.

my husband and I we spent 9 days in this beautiful appartement. We had stunning views from the huge balcony where you see Funchal, the mountains and the sea. By night you are speechless, it's just gorgeous.
Excellent restaurants are nearby ( we recommand " the restaurant Atlantic " just in front of the building, only a few metres away), a small supermarket next door has everything you need for your breakfast.....they also have excellent wines. There is a bus stop on the other side of the street which brings you downtown. Funchal is a very relaxed city with nice buildings, small parks with a lot of exotic plants and trees......have a look at the " theatre cafe " where you can enjoy your wine. It's a place where we will surely come back to enjoy a few relaxed days. This is really a 5 star appartement and Ana and Mario are angels. Simply perfect!

Outstanding apartment with lovely views
This was our third time in Madeira and our second at this lovely and clean apartment, very well maintained. Ana and Mario provide excellent customer service, with a friendly welcome, and attention to detail. We have already recommended this particular apartment to our family and friends who hope to book next year. This year we enjoyed walking from the Eira do Serrado to the Nun's Valley where we had a lovely lunch, two Levada walks from Monte to Hortensia Tea Rooms and the Palheiro area, enjoyed walks through the Zona Velha and lunch at Barreirinha Bar Café, the most wonderful meal in The Med Restaurant at the Vila Porto Mare and coffee & snacks at The Prince Charles café in Funchal - as well as relaxing on our balcony where we were able to sunbathe, enjoy fireworks, listen to the music from the traditional Fado nights drift up towards us, enjoy meals for two with wonderful views, take endless photographs, listen to the radio, and read. Fantastic!

There are plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets locally so we wanted for nothing. Central Funchal is about a 20 minute easy walk, especially if you have a stop in the beautiful St Catherina and Municipal parks on the way.
Would recommend anytime.

Wonderful appartment with a very nice view
We arrived almost on the midnight of the 4th of July Mario and Ana has arranged the taxi to pick up us from the airport. They were waiting for us at the apartment and show us all round. The apartment was spacious, clean and had a big terrace. In the morning we saw the wonderful view of the mountains and ocean.
I can say that the apartment is on the good location. There are a lot of restaurants around it, market round the corner and you can reach Funchal city center easy on foot in about 15-20 minutes. Moreover if you rent a car it will not take you long to reach any part of the island from the apartment. Also the apartment has well equipped kitchen, so you can buy fresh Madeira fish (“Espada”) in the market, baked it and have a nice dinner in the terrace with the nice view of Funchal city.
We had to leave very early in the morning, so once again Mario and Ana helped us with the taxi that we were on time at the airport. I hope we will come back again to Madeira in few years. Without any doubts I will choose this apartment and I could recommend to everybody. It’s great not even with friends, but would be comfortable with family too.

Nice apartment - Wonderful view
This is a very nice apartment, clean, well maintained, nicely furnished, and with an extremely well equipped kitchen. The views from the large terrace are wonderfully panoramic, covering the sea, the town and the mountains. It might be worth noting that, because of the aspect, the terrace loses the sun in the early afternoon, regaining it in the evening.
The owner, Ana, is a lovely lady, very easy to communicate with, really helpful, yet unobtrusive.
Funchal is a lovely town with an abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants. Our particular favourites are Lareira Portuguesa, (try the chateaubriand!) which is just around the corner, O'Chefe's which is also nearby, and Cantinha dos Amigos which is in the town centre near to the cathedral.
The property is ideally situated within easy walking distance of shops, supermarkets and restaurants and the Lido (at the time of writing the Lido is closed for renovations) The town centre is a pleasant walk of 20 minutes or so, but taxis are reasonable (about 6 euros) and the bus service is very inexpensive and regular, with bus stops right outside the property.
This apartment is an ideal rental for independent travellers. We are already planning to return and I have no hesitation in giving a 5 star recommendation.

WONDERFULL APARTMENT WITH GREAT VIEWS
Arrived at the property late on the 3rd April, Mario and Ana wer waiting for us to show us around the appartment, gave us any relevant information on how to work certain pieces of equipment and to inform us that the property would be cleaned every wednesday at 11am. Also supplied us with some various items of foods and fruit from the island and some Madeira wine. In the morning we were all amazed at the wonderfull views of the mountains, city, harbour and sea, there was also a wonderfull sunrise. Madeira itself is a wonderfull island with many different activities to be involved, including Lavada walks, Cable car rides, beautiful gardens and flowers everywhere, car rides around the island are spectacular as the scenery is fantastic, also the local, inter urban and outer buses are freaquent and very good for getting about, the value is also very good. Around the appartment there are many eateries of many different countries, the appartment is also equipped to a high standard for cooking and sitting on the balcony and eating while looking out was fab. We also enjoyed the local Poncha and even attempted making our own with Tangarines, we also had a few Gin and Tonics. The weather was also great throughout the 16 days we were there and the temperature was perfect, usually 19-21 every day.
Cant say enough about the appartment and when we return we will use this again and again as has everything you need for a holiday. Also have to say that there are numerous buses into town just along the road and there are also many yellow taxis to be used.

Wonderful appartment with a brilliant view
We had a wonderful holiday in Madeira thanks to Mario and Ana and their appartment. The holiday started not so good because our baggage was not on the airplane and would arrive the next day. Mario and Ana did help us, and they even called to the airport so that we would receive our bagage as soon as possible. The appartment was super clean and very nice and has a brilliant view. Perfect service of the owners, they were very helpful. They had also a wonderful welcome surprise.
In the neighbourhood of the appartment you find the supermarket (open 7/7 - 8.30-22h), restaurants, bars, shops, travel agencies, taxis and the bus stops in front of the building!!
Madeira was super and also the weather was perfect, we lived every morning and evening at the lovely balcony.
We 'll certainly come back.

An ideal place to stay with amazing views!
This apartment more than exceeded our expectations. The location was great as we felt central to both the Lido area and Funchal itself. The facilities were fantastic with absolutely everything there that we needed. The apartment was lovely, clean and well maintained. The service provided by both Ana & Mario was wonderful as far as customer service was concerned. We have already been recommending this property to our friends & family, we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Madeira now, we would definitely return to this apartment. We ate at Restaurante Terrace D'Ajuda on our first night, which was lovely. We mainly ate on the apartment balcony for breakfast & dinner to make the most of those unforgettable views. We had lunch out & about in Funchal, the Nuns Valley and on the East Coast Safari Tour (the best lunch was in Faial on the safari tour that we booked down at the harbour). We enjoyed a few drinks at The Hole in One Pub and a couple of lunches at Bar el Silencio near the apartment, but not such a good meal at the Pizzeria/Italian restaurant near Bar el Silencio. As well as the safari we went to the Nuns Valley, Cabo Girao and Garajau on local buses, up to Monte in the Cable Car and back down in the toboggan. We enjoyed shopping locally in Lido and Funchal. We also took advantage of the beautiful local parks for a game of frisbee, and swimming in the pools & sea in the Lido area. The only mistake we made was booking one week instead of two!

AMAZING PENTHOUSE
My wife and I stayed at this 10th floor penthouse apartment for three weeks. We are regular visitors to Madeira and I have to say that this is without doubt the best apartment that we have had. The views from the amazing balcony are breathtaking taking in the mountains, view of Funchal and the ocean. The location is great close to restaurants, bars, supermarkets and the property was clean and well maintained with the unexpected bonus of a polite cleaner giving a weekly change of linen etc. The owners were helpful and I would recommend this apartment.

Perfect location for Funchal & the island
We stayed at the apartment over Christmas, and arrived to find the it tastefully decorated for Christmas including a tree. This was a special holiday for us and the apartment offered every comfort we needed. It feels like staying in a home rather than a holiday rental, with considerate touches like: flowers, some starter provisions, etc.It is very spacious and has wonderful views by day and night, and is even better than it looks in the photos. Mario and his wife were most welcoming and helpful.
There are a lot of places nearby to eat (within a couple of minutes walk). Well stocked supermarket a short walk away. You can walk into the town centre easily, but there are also buses. Good parking for a hire car. If you head westward along the street it is relatively easy to get out of town without getting caught in traffic.
Madeira is a delightful island. We will be back, and heartily recommend this apartment.

Heavenly place
We have excellently spent time in Madeira. And such impression was made not only due to Madeira’s sights but owner's efforts as well. The apartment is furnished tastefully. There are a lot of small but pleasant details like pictures and booklets about Madeira and Portugal, flowers, etc. It is equipped according to a high standard. Its location is very convenient because everything like restaurants with great food, supermarkets, shopping center, tourist agencies is near. And the atmosphere was homelike. We'll never forget spectacular views from our terrace. Mario and Ana, thank you for your friendliness and concern! We’ll advise everyone going to your place to visit your apartment. It is very difficult for a foreigner to find such heavenly place.

Lovely aoartment to stay ... ideal to return!
We were looking for something special to spend my wife´s 50th birthday and we found it at Lido 244. From our first contact with Mário, everything went well, he arranged for us to be collected at the airport and taken directly to the apartment. When we arrived, we immediately felt right at home as we had a warm welcome by Mário and Mafalda. The apartment is furnished to a high standard of comfort and care as it is very well maintained and cleaned with all the details you can imagine to make you feel at home. It is in easy walking distance to the bar's,shops and restaurants with buses coming and going to Funchal centre every 10 minutes. There was no need to walk far for entertainment and great food! The Tourism club complex with easy access (2 minutes from the apartment) was great as we spent a lot of time in the pool and even been swimming in the sea. But the best of Lido 244 are the amazing views from the veranda where we usually had our meals. In this great apartment, everything you wish for is there. Thank you so much Mafalda and Mário for making our stay so pleasant. So, if you are looking for an apartment in Madeira, this is the one, and Mafalda & Mário are the most caring hosts you could wish to meet.
