Cozy Suite, Historic District, Great Price!
About this apartment rental
Check-in time is 3:00 pm with check-out at 10:00 am for this rental located at 213 East Hall Street, Savannah, Georgia, 31401. NO PETS ALLOWED.. Brockington Hall Inn Suite is a cozy little suite (459 sq. ft.) in Savannah’s Historic District. Situated on a quiet tree-lined, brick-paved street of beautiful residences, we are within a block and a half from Forsyth Park and of the Mansion on Forsyth Park. We are also within walking distance (for spry people!) of most of Savannah’s famous sites. We provide one off-street parking space and parking is not metered in our area. Cancellation policy is that upon notice of cancellation THROUGH VRBO (and therefore in writing), owners will immediately seek to re-rent the property. If property is re-rented, any loss to owner will be offset against deposit along with $50.00 fee. Transfer of deposit to other available dates may be allowed. Please note: We operate a wedding venue on the floor above this suite so there is a possibility that there will be noise in this suite until 10:00 pm or so, especially on weekends. If that would be a problem for you, you may wish to consider our other property at the same address, the Cottage, VRBO # 403378. Located about 25 blocks from the center of the City, and redone in 2011, the Inn offers a living room, bedroom, and eat-in kitchen for small meals, with a private entrance. The Inn Suite is located in a tastefully-renovated 16th Century Classic Italianate villa-style mansion built in 1882 which houses an event venue and private apartments as well. You can see more about the building on our website, Brockington Hall, and on our Facebook page, Brockington Hall Event Venue and Inn. The informality of the Inn Suite’s design and furnishings and its modest rental rate make it especially suited to the young at heart who wish to enjoy the grandeur of Savannah itself without staying in a formal space. A full kitchen with facilities for light cooking is provided, and you can bring home your treats from Savannah’s many fine restaurants for later snacks. You can cook your own breakfast or have breakfast nearby in the Cafe at Forsyth Park, which has Starbucks coffee. A Kroger grocery store is a block away down the lane, and Johnny Ganem's wine and liquor store is three blocks away. The Inn suite is approximately 459 square feet. A Tassimo coffee-maker is provided, with coffee, tea, sugars, Splenda, and creamer. In addition to the private entrance, the Inn Suite has wireless Internet access, cable TV service via two flat-screen TVs, and its own security system. You will have free use of Brockington Hall’s shared laundry facility, off-street parking for one vehicle, and maid service at a reasonable frequency after a two-night’s stay, if requested. The Inn Suite is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is allowed outside the building. There is a small, unadorned, concrete-pad, fenced area with seating where you can smoke. One off-street parking space is provided. Parking spaces are small. If you have a large vehicle, you may need to park in unmetered, on-street parking, and to be mindful of street sweeping signs. A two night minimum stay is required, but we'd love for you to be our guests for an extended stay as well. We do ask that you let us know your anticipated time of arrival so that we can plan our days (and nights). Cancellation policy is that upon notice of cancellation THROUGH VRBO (and therefore in writing), the owners will immediately seek to re-rent the property. If property is re-rented, any loss to owner will be offset against deposit along with $50.00 fee. VRBO’s booking fee is not refundable. Transfer of deposit to other available dates may be allowed. Keywords: Suite with small kitchen. Contemporary apartment-style unit in an Historic Residence, one block from Savannah's famous Forsyth Park and steps away from all major landmarks and sightseeing.

This unit is part of Brockington Hall, one of Savannah’s historic 19th century mansions next to Forsyth Park. The owner lives upstairs and gave us a tour of the main living quarters now used as a wedding venue. The apartment was clean, comfortable, with a small kitchen but a huge bathroom. The unit is updated but not modern or luxurious. It is comfortable and well stocked for anyone‘s needs as a visitor to Savannah. The host was available and offered great suggestions for things to see. We had a car, but used the free trolley and enjoyed walking to downtown and the river tourist area. We recommend this place and will return again because it has the best location for sightseeing and relaxing.

When we arrived in the dark, we couldn't find our vacation rental unit, and we couldn't reach the owners. A tenant in the building told us he thought there were vacation rental units around the back. We walked down a dark walkway and stumbled into a storage room and then into two vacation rentals (both unlocked, as we had been told, and both empty). The only way to determine which was ours was to look at the photo of the living room in the welcome email. The couch was different, but we pieced together (from the artwork, curtains, and lights) that we were in the right place. We parked and unloaded the car, only to find that the ice cube trays were in the freezer but empty, and that there was hair all over the two bathmats and the VERY uncomfortable loveseat. We bought ice, tried to calm down, and cleaned every flat surface with disinfectant spray. Finally we were ready to use some kitchen dishes, glasses, and utensils. They all were filthy. So, during our stay we washed everything before and after we used it. Like I said, the location was terrific and not paying to park was wonderful. If you don't mind an extreme lack of cleanliness, this place will work for historic downtown Savannah exploration.

The Inn was perfect for what we needed. It was one block of Forsythe Park, and one of the Trolley Tours stops. We were able to walk everywhere. Multiple places nearby for brunch and lunch. Might have to walk a little further for dinner but worth it. The area was nice. Beautiful neighborhood. One block from us was a Kroger grocery store. The host made sure we had the instructions for the place before we arrived. Once we parked we did not use our car again until we left.

The place was in a great location for walking to all that Savannah has to offer. It could use a paint job and some update furnishing.
If you need a place to stay while in Savannah, this does the job.

The location is great and perfect for two guests! The AC was also very good.
What was less desirable was the dusty air vents throughout the apartment - especially above the bed. Dusty air blew on our faces all night and the owner wasn’t responsive after bringing up the concern.

My daughter and I enjoyed a very nice weekend, enhanced by the property’s location to everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed everything Savannah has to offer - good food, history and some ghost stories! All within walking distance of the property. Would definitely do it again!

We wanted to visit Savannah, GA. I found The Inn at Brockington Hall online. The price, and pictures looked good, so I rented it-VRBO. This review is not a bashing session, but merely one with suggestions. We arrived well after dark. When we finally got to bed, there was VERY bright light coming through the blind. It was the "security light" in the narrow breezeway, which is located so that it shines right in the bedroom window. To block the light, I found 2 large brown towels in the bathroom. I tucked them in the top of the blind. Then I had to put a pillow at the bottom behind the blind to block that light, too. The next day, the owner, Robert Bonds, met with us to say we needed to move our car at some point, for some reason (Ok, we did, still not sure why we needed to).
I gently showed him the "light" situation, and suggested inexpensive blackout curtains to fix the problem. The mattress is TERRIBLE, and debris underneath! Found earbuds lost by a previous renter. Lastly, the kitchen and shower on/off knobs are SO DIFFICULT! If a person had arthritis, or lacked hand strength, they would not be able to turn them! Mr. Bonds talked with us at length, and even gave us a 2nd floor tour of the Hall. Mr. Bonds was very nice, and informative! All said, this is such a cute and quaint place! As expected, the room is old and small with a "creaky" step up to the bathroom, which gave it that old feel-I like that! We felt very safe in the area, and it is just beautiful! If the issues were addressed, we would stay in "The Inn" again! Thanks!

The location was perfect for a trip to Savanah. Everywhere you would hope to go is in a reasonable walking distance. Having a parking space was extremely convenient and the apartment had great space for my wife and I. If i ever make it back to Savanah I would definitely stay here again

Attractive and comfortable space in an excellent location. Easy walk to food, groceries, park, and the beautiful squares of Savannah. Best to arrive in daylight - it was tricky finding parking space and entrance in dark.

My husband and myself came to see the sights of Savahanna. Location was perfect for us. We walked a ton but the free city bus is only a block away. The place is perfect for 2 people. The only suggestion I have is to invest in a better bed. We enjoyed the convince.

Had a great time in Savannah and this little property was a perfect spot to stay. Close to downtown and a beautiful area. Forsyth park had a farmers market on Saturday morning which is right across the street and was a great surprise to us when we walked out in the morning! Wonderful stay all around!

This is a great location! We appreciated having a designated parking space. The unit is located in the Historic District attached to a grand, beautiful home. Clean and had all the items we needed. Owner was easy to communicate with. We met two women associated with the property. One helped us with directions, and the other made sure we had everything we needed.

This is a very nice, cozy space for 2. The location is easy to get around the historic district. The directions to the primary location are good, but finding the actual door to your space is lacking. Had we not found someone living there, we would not have found our rental space. How to find the space needs to be very specifically detailed, or you won't every find the door.

I really wanted to like this property but there were just too many negatives. It does smell musty. I know it’s an old building but I could not get over the odor. The unit layout is nice but it is in desperate need of some upgrades - paint, furnishings, flooring and fixtures. It just felt dingy, dark and dirty to me. Rusty, filthy air vents, dirty baseboard and light switch plates, dead insects on the window sills. Cleaning products on the kitchen counter, broken dirty window blinds. In fact the bedroom blind fell completely off the window when I tried to raise it and it cut and bruised my hand. There was no extra toilet paper and had to go buy some. And no tissues either. Junk was laying around outside in various areas including the laundry room area. Parking area is not large enough for 2 vehicles. Not a pleasant experience.

We were so close to everything. we were able to walk to all of our destinations. The cottage was just the perfect size for us and so cute. We will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is within walking distance of the historic district, river, arts, and restaurants. Parking spaces off the alley are tight but adequate. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The property is a one bedroom daylight partial basement apt of the home. As such, it has the quiet charm that most Savannah historic homes in the district seem to have and was quite a reasonable stay for my purposes. In general, the insect problem was about what one might expect from a basement property in September in Savannah and not too bad considering both indoor and outdoor humidity.
Hopefully the cleaning crew can pay a bit more attention to the kitchen baseboards and floor care in general. The carpets seemed fine, but I wound up pulling aside the bathroom rug, which was visibly soiled.
Though AC venting is present and apparently works, there is no independent control inside the unit. This might not be an issue in off season, but I can understand this being a concern for spring and summer travel.
Check in and out was effortless and simple. The host and other traveler were quiet. Parking was doable, and on street parking was really not an issue compared to most other urban environments I've visited.
All in all, I would return gladly in off season.

Cute little place
Very cozy comfortable stay. The amenities were plenty and felt like a home away from home. Don’t let the negative reviews make your decision, they are quite inaccurate. Great price especially for Savannah and Robert and Mary were very helpful. Thank you we look forward to staying again.

Savannah
It was an suite in a larger property on the bottom floor with it own access. Clean and quaint. The only drawback is it advertises it has 2 parking places that you share with another guest. The parking place was an oversized one space parking. Two cars would fit but you would have to be skinny enough climb out or climb over. There was no way to park two cars and people to be able to get out of both cars.

The apartment smelled very heavy of mildew and very musty. Vents blew dust out on the bed and were very black, dirty and not adjustable. Cockroachs in the kitchen. Blood frozen in the freezer. False advertisement, i.e. no Tassimo coffee maker, expired coffee, no water or soda as advertised, no dish cloth for washing dishes, bath wash cloth filthy, bed very squeaky and uncomfortable. Outside sitting area dirty, broken furniture and full of trash. Walkway full of debris. I would not recommend this place!

Active mold in the shower/bath area. Musty smell due to AC system needing servicing with mold next to vents. Tried to privately communicate with the manager/owner with no communication as of yet.

The location of this property is so perfect. When we travel we love to walk, best way to catch all of the details. The walk from this place to the waterfront is loaded with so much beauty. Every block is full of trees not to mention Forsythe Park and all of the squares. Just the best location we could have found.
We love peace and quiet. This place was so quiet as if we were the only people on the block, just wonderful.
This was our first time booking with VRBO, we will feel confident booking with VRBO again because this place was our perfect choice.
