York Street Gem - A Taste of 1800s Savannah
About this house rental
Situated in Savannah, this charming house for £219 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Summary: This gorgeous historic gem from the early 1800's sits on York Street in the heart of downtown. We are within walking distance to all that Savannah has to offer, including River Street, City Market, The Pirate's House, Leopold's Ice Cream, The Olde Pink House and SO much more! Though we are close to everything, the house is situated on a quiet block right near Greene Square and is perfect for those light sleepers like us :) If you're looking to step back in time and have a true Savannah experience in a house with obvious original features, look no further!! The Space: Yes, this home is from the 1800's and it shows! With its huge trim, tall, dramatic ceilings and gorgeous heart of pine floors, the place is dripping with character and charm. We offer 3 king beds, 2 full baths and a half bath with a washer/dryer. We have a Zen-filled, private courtyard wrapped in bamboo and sunshine that is perfect for those "warm" Savannah evenings! Being an original old townhome, it is 3 stories. The master bedroom that offers a huge jacuzzi tub and separate shower sits on the second floor. Upstairs from that are the two other bedrooms with a shared bath at the end of the hall. **We have free WiFi and Cable TV with ESPN Package** Guest Access: The entire home is yours! We offer 2 free parking spots in the back along the gate (only 2 cars and must park one in front of the other). The courtyard is totally private, we just ask that you keep the late-night partying inside after 11 :) The Neighborhood: We are in the heart of the Historic District where everything is walkable. It is a fairly quiet, residential area with plenty of full time residents living throughout. The nights are so slow and quiet that hearing the horse-drawn carriages are louder than people/cars! We are a stone's throw away from Greene Square and some of Savannah's most famous restaurant's and shops. The list goes on and on but some of our favorites include 17Hundred90, The Olde Pink House, Screamin Mimi's, Hitch, J. Christopher's, Leopold's Ice Cream, Fox & Fig Cafe which are just blocks from the house! Getting Around: Aside from being able to walk everywhere, we recommend using Uber/Lyft as you can quickly get from A to B at a great price. Just in case you find yourselves stumbling a little bit from having such an awesome time :) Other Things to Note: We are available to guests via mobile Monday-Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-8pm. We don't live far so if you should need anything or have any issues, just let us know. If you have any emergencies call 911. SVR-00165

Our family felt so at home with the beautifully maintained property in the heart of Savannah. The layout of the house and the provided finishings were spot on for what anyone could need. The home was clean and full of southern charm! We can’t wait to return.

It was a great place- plenty of bathrooms and king beds to comfortably accommodate a group of 6 women. Had everything we needed and in a great location! The property manager was helpful and prompt with responses and solutions.

Great location as you could walk to most anything around within 15 minutes. Folks are correct, the stairs are steep and narrow which is tricky for having luggage, but that is to be expected with the age and location of the home. The cons: 1) The courtyard was a bit overgrown and not "inviting". 2) Check-in instructions were not given until we were there and I had to wait for a response to get in. 3) No clear check out instructions, as we had to leave early without knowing what to do 4) Where to park was a little fuzzy: There is a spot off the street by the building with a fence but it is NOT that spot. Instead, you need to enter the alleyway from one of the side streets and go until you see a large opening of cars. It is not marked, but you just need to count the buildings and park to the far left of that clearing that is 3 cars wide and 2 cars deep. There is not a way to access it from the home or the fence, so you need to walk around to get back to the house. Overall, instructions for parking, checking in and checking out were not clear or timely. Pros: Very comfy bedding and pillows, AC/Heat work great, good storage, great location,

We had a wonderful 4-day stay in this lovely historic home. We could walk to all the sites and restaurants that we wanted to go to which made life super easy. The clip clop of horse carriages going by really made us feel like we were immersed in another world.

We loved the pictures and understood it was 3 story...
But the pictures are deceiving the house is VERY narrow and the stairs VERY steep. It was a challenge for our age group and did not realize that there us no bathroom on first level !
Overall is is nicely decorated and comfortable.
Parking was questionable, but in an urban situation it is understandable.
