This location was fantastic! You walk out the door and the colosseum is right there. It is close to the metro and the bus. There are lots of delicious restaurants close by. There are a lot of stairs to climb, and there were some points at night that it was a bit noisy outside, but the location made it spectacular, and I would definitely stay there again. I highly recommend!

Family of 5 stayed here. Great location, grocery store right around the corner.

This location cannot be beat. But the hike up to the 4th floor with luggage is a bit.

Excellent location, but not too good for anyone with mobility issues, lots and lots of stairs.
Only real issue apart from the stairs is a kettle would be ideal especially if you like tea.

This is an amazing location, across the street from the Colosseum. The building is older, but that adds to the charm. Check in and out was very easy.

We stayed at the very beginning of October. The property is in an unbeatable location, in central Rome. Our children loved having their own loft bedrooms. Check in was easy and the hosts were extremely helpful. There are lots of stairs to climb to get to the apartment , and lots of traffic noise, but the location is phenomenal!!

If you are visiting Rome, this us a must rent apartment. Everything was perfect for my family of six. Cannot beat the location with a grocer steps away. The bonus washing machine and air conditioning was fantastic. Rent this and you will not regret it. Charming!

Great property. Rome is beautiful. This is in the middle of all the history. Waking distance from the metro and bus. Walking distance from many attractions. Mr. Carmelo was very nice. The ac makes all the difference with Rome temperatures. It was our resting place between different tours and visits.

We loved this spot. From the front door you look at the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, with the Forum and the Palatine Hill in the background. The view from the apartment windows is of the ruins of the Caelian Hill (Parco di Celio); unrestored and so verdant, with wild parakeets flitting among the trees. It’s like living in a postcard. The kitchen was clean and appropriately stocked. There’s a grocery store right around the corner where we found everything we needed to make breakfast and even a supper or two, and at prices that were surprisingly reasonable, particularly given the location. The bedrooms were quite comfortable with air conditioning that we needed even in late spring. One of the bedrooms is in a loft open to the rooms below. Visually but not acoustically private. The bathrooms were also clean and well appointed, characteristically Italian, meaning compact by American standards and a little smelly. The washing machine is also small by American standards, but in good shape and the drying rack worked great for all our laundry. Highly recommended. We would stay here again, gladly, despite the delayed responses to emails requesting information as we planned our trip.

Excellent stay
The property was exactly as described and the location was perfect! We stayed with our two kids (12 & 16) and the apartment was ideal so that everyone had their own bed and some privacy. Location was right next door to the Colosseum and in an area with plenty of restaurants and shops. Fernando was also very helpful and a great host to work with. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful location!
Great apartment! We walked everywhere and easy access to a taxi if one is needed. A little noisy due to busy street but it did not bother us, we enjoyed being in the center of everything.

We enjoyed our stay so much
We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful apartment. The host, Fernando, was great. The check-in process was easy, the apartment was clean and stocked with supplies, and we were even welcomed with snacks and gifts upon arrival. The location is perfect for visiting ancient Roman monuments, as it is immediately across the street from the Colosseum, however, the Centro Historico is just a short walk away as well. The trip up the steps can be brutal, but helpful in burning off those extra calories you'll inevitably consume in Rome. I highly recommend this beautiful apartment.

We just returned from our trip to Rome. The apartment was just as it was described. The check in process was very easy. Fernando the owner was very responsive and answered all of my questions. His friend met us during check in and assisted me with carrying my luggage up the stairs. The location is perfect. It's located right across the street from the Colosseum the taxi stand is right in front, the metro is nearby and there's a grocery right around the corner. The only drawback were the stairs. It's not for the faint of heart and can be challenging especially after a full day of exploring. However, the apartment was clean and large enough for our group of 6 adults. The doorman, Carmelo, was also very pleasant and hopeful. I would stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. From the friendliness of our greeting to the quirky layout which took a few minutes to get used to our teenage boys loved having rooms of their own and were happy getting up and down the spiral staircases. The location was great, metro nearby, supermarket just round the corner and restaurants nearby..and of course the Colosseum right there at your door. Having AC was great as well.

Awesome location right across from the colusseum! Was close enough to walk to most places. Property was clean and spacious, and very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for everything!

Awesome little apartment
No complaint, just be aware that the apartment is on the 4th floor and so if stairs are an issue after a long day walking this might be a problem. Fernando was great, nice supermarket around the corner, no conplaints here.

A gem near Colloseum
The property is in the prime location, with front doors of the apartment building opening to Colosseum. It is easy to get around the city since metro is just a 5 minute walk from the building and there is a taxi stand right outside the door. The images of the property provide perfect representation of your experience. The place is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The hosts even provided some pastries, water and juice for us upon arrival, which was much appreciated.
Check-in process was very simple. Fernando met us downstairs and helped carry our bags to the apartment (lots of stairs just like other reviews said but not terrible). He showed us the apartment and all of the amenities. It was a perfect place for us. Our 12 year old son absolutely loved all the winding staircases.
Thank you Fernando for sharing your lovely home with us.

Great vintage apartment
I really enjoyed staying here with my family. The location was really great, right across from the Colosseum. Super easy to find, and convenient for all sight seeing. Also convenient because there was a taxi stand right in front, if you choose to take taxis. Great grocery store across the street too. The place was clean, and cute. Like visiting your Italian grandmother's house, it was full of vintage items and had many conveniences too. There were pots and pans to use and mostly everything you'd need to meal prep, and the host explained how to use everything. 3 adorable spiral staircases in it, and fun rooms my kids loved. Yes, lots of stairs to get up there to the apt., but when you eat as much gelato as we did, you need the extra cardio. TV and wifi were great too for relaxing at night. I would totally stay here again.

Great location!
The location is fantastic! The apartment is nice to be able to spread out when you need to. Not super fancy, but you get what you need and are paying for the location. The ac is such a wonderful added touch! Make sure if you need extra time at check out to ask for it beforehand...you are promptly rushed out at 1000 with the cleaning service.

Awesome!!
Loved our stay here. Perfect spot, close to the metro, taxi stand in front, and the view of the Colosseum is just amazing! There's a bunch of little restaurants and a 24 hr store very close by. The only thing that was a drawback was the 9, yes 9 flights of stairs we had to go up with all our luggage and go up when we came back tired from checking out the sights in Rome.
Overall it was a very good place to stay, but be sure you're fit enough for the steps before renting. I'll definitely come back if ever in Rome again.

An unbeatable location and great host.
The location was superb. Don't think the metro was even a whole block away. If you needed a taxi all you had to do was step outside. The apartment is as pictured and described. The only reason for 4 stars, which is a consequence of the GREAT location, is the street noise. So you have to weigh the pros and cons. I don't mean hearing people outside, I mean hearing extremely loud buses driving past and their loud brake systems. I actually had a couple crazy dreams due to the noise. I would stay there again though because it was a great deal. I do know some people that would not be able to tolerate the noise however. The host was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions. Thank you for much for everything!

Great Property, Great Location
Wonderful apartment, across the street from the Colosseum. There are a number of stairs, however the owner was so helpful with assisting us carrying our suitcase up. No issues without the suitcase. The apartment was large and comfortable. Very convenient to have a washing machine available on site. A 24 hour grocery store is only a couple of blocks away. Easy to get to all the sites from this location. Highly recommended .

Location, location, location! The apartment was comfortable for us, but a bit awkward for our friend
We loved staying so close to the colosseum! The apartment was large, comfortable and well stocked. One drawback was the 82 stairs we had to climb to get to it. Our bedroom was on the main level, the others were creatively retrofitted up spiral stairs.

Nice, larger then expected, clean, great location!
We enjoyed our stay! The apartment was very clean and our host was very accommodating and responsive. The spiral staircases leading to some of the rooms was a fun surprise. Plenty of space for our family of 5! The host left us some snacks, water and juice which was a nice touch. Fair warning there are a lot of steps leading to the apartment which generally wouldn't be an issue, but can seem like a lot after a full day of walking around Rome. The location of apartment was great in that it is literally right across from the Colosseum which is amazing to see each day. It is also about a 5-10 min walk to the subway station which we found very helpful. However, the downside of the location is it can be loud at night. We heard sirens and people well into the night. Overall, we would recommend this apartment to those wanting to visit beautiful Rome.

Perfect location!
You cannot ask for a better location than this apartment when visiting the sites of Rome! It is literally across the street from the Colosseum and there is a taxi stand immediately outside the door. We were a family of 5 and were comfortable here. There is a double bed on the main floor & then beds in some lofts that our kids used. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the apartment, but that was not an issue for us. A great stay in Rome!

Super apartment in a great location
We were a family of five who stayed at the apartment for 4 nights in October. Both Fernando and Alessandro who met us at the property were very good in terms of communication and Alessandro met us at the apartment to hand over the keys and run through everything. The apartment was larger than expected and spotlessly clean, with plenty of spare towells and toiletries plus some basic food essentials that we could make use of.
The location was great as being directly opposite the Colosseum, it meant that there was a Metro, tram and bus stops close by that we made use of during our stay with a 72 hour transport pass. Be prepared to do plenty of walking in Rome as even with using the public transport we averaged 10km a day getting to various sites - there is plenty to see and do. We tended to split the days by going out early in them mornings, coming back for lunch and then travelling out later in the afternoon so we could also enjoy some of the sites at night. There are plenty of good restaurants close to the apartment and if you go back a block from the Colosseum they are also much cheaper. There is also 2 small supermarkets in the immediate vicinity if you want to cook your own meals etc and for other essentials. The apartment's kitchen is quite small but has all the equipment necessary for catering for up to 6 people so it was a good option on a coupel of evenings to eat in and then go out for ice creams that the kids always enjoyed.
The stairs were not really an issue and proved good training for going up St Peter's dome at the Vatican - I expect in the height of summer they could prove more of a challenge in the heat but is a small price to pay for the fantastic location. There is a bit of traffic noise in the evenings and early in the morning but you quickly get used to it and again is something that you should expect being in the heart of the city and added to the enjoyment at times watching the number of near misses at the road junction from the bedroom window.
We definitely want to return to Rome and would have no hesitation in staying at Fernando's apartment again and recommending it to others.

Rome for the month of June 2016--Excellent Location
My son & I visited Rome June 2016. 2 friends joined us for the 1st 2 weeks, so Fernando's apartment was just the right size. Nice kitchen, living rm, dining rm, & large bedrm with a very comfortable queen bed on the main floor. 3 of these rooms have "lofts" built above them (each with a spiral stairs for access). One "loft" room (above dining rm) has a queen size bed + a full bathrm & small side room with a chair that pulls out to a single bed. Another "loft" room (above living rm) has a twin bed. The third "loft" room (above large bedrm) just has a portable crib, so not really set up for anything except a young child. We also had a washer & clothes line for a dryer. My son wasn't thrilled about hanging clothes out to dry but it brought back fond memories for me. The internet was good. It seemed to drop the connection periodically but it was never an issue. Note: I was able to watch TV (Dish Anywhere) on my tablet whenever I wanted, an indication of how good the speed was. The air conditioning was excellent. 3 individual units (each with its own control) let us set the temperature somewhat differently for each area making it nice for my son who likes his room cold. It was also nice to open the windows and get a wonderful cross-breeze.
My local contact was Alessandro?, not Fernando, & he was very responsive & accommodating to any questions we had & he made a special trip back to the apartment to give us a demo on lighting the gas oven when we needed help. I loved the large sized bath towels & appreciated the kitchen items available on day one: salt, pepper, basic spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, coffee. Very convenient
The absolute best thing about the apartment is its location since the most important things we wanted/needed were within a 3 to 5 minute walk: the Colosseo, Arch of Constantine, Forum, wonderful churches (San Clemente, San Giovanni in Laterano, San Giovanni e Paolo, San Gregorio Magno) + several bus stops, a tram, the Metro, a taxi stop, grocery store (very small), and good restaurants + gelato shops. A balcony with a view would have made it perfect!
The negatives are more "expectation" issues than anything else. The worst for me was the TINY shower. Bending over to get the shampoo was NOT possible. With no shelf in the shower, I had to be creative. + the upstairs bathroom had a slight odor. Then there are the steps: 83 steps up to the apartment. Since I averaged 6 miles walking per day, those steps were daunting at day's end! :-)

Very nice, everything as expected.
Hi, We enjoyed our stay at this location. The bed was a bit hard and short for me, but not unusual for European standards. Location was perfect, close to shops, restaurants, transportation, landmarks, etc. Would highly recommend this location and would stay again. The stairs are really not a big deal. Really a ton of space - far more than you usually would get. Great value!

Great location. Great space.
This was a great location. There are a lot of positives to it. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to see. There were stops for bus, tram, and metro all within a short walking distance. Just outside of the door was a taxi stand which was very convenient. The only small gripe I had was that it is up 4 flights of stairs. This was only inconvenient when bringing up luggage. Other positives were the wifi and the kitchen. Market just on the corner provided some snacks and drinks that were great to have on hand. Tour of the property and list of convenient phone numbers provided by owner were also helpful.
I would definitely return here.
