Great property, great location. Wish there had been a door code instead of physical keys and that it wasn’t therefor necessary to stop by the property manager’s office 30 mins away. At one point I mentioned to the PM a minor maintenance issue. They sent someone promptly to address it which was nice but the maintenance person did show up unannounced. These nitpicks aside, we’d be happy to rent the house again.

The house is great. We loved the location. It was close to the beach and the pool was great. However, the house was not clean upon arrival. It looked like some of the bathrooms were not cleaned. There was what looked like poop on one of the bathroom walls and short black hairs in the was really gross. When I call to complain, it was after hours and I was not able to talk to anyone. By the time someone called me back I had already cleaned it myself. Not how I wanted to start our family vacation.

We were happy with the location. It was helpful to have a beach cart and chairs provided. This property is very outdated though and could use a lot of upgrades. Shower pressure was horrible in some of the bathrooms. My daughter got a huge splinter in her toe walking up the deck steps. Bikes were advertised to come with the house; however we were told once we got there and asked about them that they were no longer coming with the property. There were a few things in need of repair which we had to call to report. We were not super impressed but also not completely disappointed.

Thanks for responding to our jacuzzi issues promptly and sending the service tech to fix the water issue. I know we will rent again! An improvement opportunity suggestion: purchase a propane grill because the small charcoal grills are a pain.

Overall, great location. Accommodation were perfect for our family. Only complaint we would have is it still needs a deep clean as bathroom shower drains needed cleared of hair. Crumbs of food under/in furniture and beds. Outside pool area was great. I would remove the bikes from the advertising as bike were not present.

Perfect for our family of 2 married couples and 2 single sons and 2 grandkids and us! The pool deck was NEW and we spent many hours at pool and playing shuffleboard. We arrived to a very CLEAN house! So close to beach which was nice for our pregnant gal :) This house was awesome and we would love to come back!

Salt N'Light was a great house. Very close to beach access. Great backyard-we especially enjoyed playing shuffleboard. Pool was nice,but the solar panels didn't seem to work, the water was very cold. Very kid friendly. Glad to have gates on the deck stairs and top stairs. Perfect size for our family. Kitchen well supplied. A 2nd frig would have helped.

Arriving for our 5th year at Salt & Light gave us the warm feeling of being welcome guests in this well-equipped and beautifully-landscaped home, just steps from the beach access. Three generation never feel crowded here with get-away rooms, the pool, shuffleboard, and court for badminton & volleyball, as well as bikes & beach toys.

Location,location,location....This is our 7th trip to OBX,all in Corolla. We have always had great places,and great times. This property by far was the best location and when getting 6 kids {3-10 yrs} to the beach and all the paraphernalia needed for the day, proximity made a difference.
The property included a spacious backyard with activities for all ages. Our little ones enjoyed the swings very much.

Our 12th year at Salt-n-Light. Our family looks forward to a week at the beach. There was a minor problem with the kitchen faucet (replaced during our stay), a mid-floor commode flush (required plunging), and we got some splinters from the pool deck. We are coming back again next year.

This house was a wonderful experience. It was spacious, clean, updated, and well laid out. Everything we could want was included. The pool and hot tub were nice. The deck was spacious and comfortable, with seating for everyone. Inside, besides being clean, the details were good. The wall and floor finishes were updated and nice. The main level enough seating for 14 to eat or watch tv together. I love the 3rd floor layout. The private offset captains watch room was used frequently. The raised offset recreation/dining area was used to play board games. This house is in a great spot right by a beach access. Shopping was close. We had a great time!!

Sunny days, a warm ocean, magnificent sunsets and a very comfortable, well-equipped home with easy beach access gave us a great multi-generational vacation. Salt & Light has not only an open area where we can all gather, but also separate spaces where small groups can get away.
Our only disappointment is the folks who precede us seem to like it just as much and we could only get the home for one week this year.

We love renting this home for our yearly family vacation (11 of us). The house is always clean and nice. This year the ice maker was broke but the owner had bagged ice for us and even left a grocery store gift card! So sweet! Home is right by beach access ramp which is nice when you have kids is tow. We had a great week at Salt N Light, our beach vacation home for the past 8 plus years. This was our 20 year beach vacation anniversary. The three families have seen the kids grow from little kids to mature adults. The crowd on the beach this year was at its largest, kinda felt like a Jersey shore week, but certainly better because its at the OBX. Wine and margarita glasses where hard to come by, one of our families brought a supply of Margarita glasses which made it all good. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

When indoors we enjoyed doing puzzles on the table in the ships watch, and the children watched a couple movies in the sunroom. The kitchen had everything we needed, and was an easy spacious room for plenty of chefs to move around in at once. The refrigerator and dishwasher down to the toaster and coffeemaker were all nice name brand appliances. We even made waffles in the waffle maker one morning! Again, these homeowners have thought of everything! Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed on our group. The location to the walk on beach access was right across the street from the house. The children were able to safely go to and from the house and beach. We can't wait to return to the Outer Banks and we'd be more than happy to stay at Salt n Light when we do!
