About this cabin rental

Relax with a beautiful water view this Winter and Spring. A rustic and cozy log cabin, in the woods, with a fire place, on a cliff, on the water. A great place to relax, walk the beach or nearby hiking trails. Come stay in cozy crisp weather with a fire going. Imagine watching lightly falling snow on the water and trees, while you're warm and toasty inside with a fire going. Relax and be at peace. This listing contains terrific information about my cabin and what you should know to have a most enjoyable stay. I hope you'll read to the end. A clear night sky brings an added bonus: a wonderful night of star gazing over the water in darkness away from big cities. Marvel at the brightness of the stars seen from the cabin's deck. Give your eyes time to adjust to the darkness and you might even see the Milky Way. Sit on the deck and take in the brilliance of stars and the stillness of waves lapping at the shore. Schedule your stay during a full moon and add the experience of shimmering moonlight on the water to your visit. A thrilling and memorable experience. Note: This property is approximately a 15-minute drive from Exelon's Calvert Cliffs location. The coziness of a rustic, quaint and cozy log cabin originally built in the 1930's, and lovingly improved and cared for over the years, with the comfortable amenities of a modern furnished home (central air conditioning and heating, La-Z-Boy sofa and recliner, Smart TV, Xfinity TV Channels with TiVo DVR, Wi-Fi, electric cooking range, and spice rack). It sleeps 5 using 1 king bed, 1 twin bed, and a queen-sized sofa bed. All of this just an hour from Washington DC and Annapolis! I value diversity. LGBTQIA travelers welcome! Relax surrounded by nature and stunning waterfront views, or be active and walk the beach looking for shark's tooth fossils, or hike nearby nature trails. The large windows (new in 2021) and full deck let you enjoy the view in comfort. The perfect weekend or holiday getaway place, especially with the cozy fireplace going. It's on a cliff approximately 50 feet high, yet a 1-2 minute walk down the street and some stairs to the beach. Stroll the beach and enjoy the excitement of searching for fossilized shark's teeth that have washed up from the Chesapeake Bay. Walk the paths in the community or the trails in the nearby American Chestnut Land Trust and enjoy the scenic natural beauty. Visit local museums and historical sites. Eat at local restaurants or prepare your own food and dine on the deck while enjoying the waterfront view. I love my neighbors. They are the best! Together we all enjoy a very quiet and relaxed neighborhood surrounded by nature's beauty. I'm committed to finding guests who love nature, will maintain the quiet serenity of our neighborhood, allow my neighbors to enjoy their cabins undisturbed, and respect our community rules. If that sounds like you, and you'd like to come relax, unwind, view the water, enjoy the brilliance of nighttime stars, and quietly enjoy my cabin, then please make a request to stay. No parties or events allowed, though. Internet Service is generally quite reliable and speedy. Neither I nor guests have had any trouble using Zoom or doing other online video conferencing. The main bedroom downstairs contains a king bed. There is a small, rustic, attached full bathroom, closets and direct views of the Chesapeake Bay from 5 windows. The second bedroom upstairs is an alcove off of the dining room, so it has only 3 walls but is private from the living room. It has a twin bed surrounded by book shelves and from that bed you can see the Chesapeake Bay and have great views of the sunrise while staying cozy under the covers. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a closet for clothes. The living room couch folds out into a queen-sized bed with an inflatable pillow top. It is in front of the fireplace, and through the dining room it has great views of the Chesapeake Bay. There is a level path from the parking area into the main floor of the cabin: no steps to impede your walk. Some Terrifically-Important-But-Not-Terribly-Exciting Details About Cleaning, Linens, Pets and Babies - Please Please Do Read This! The cleaning fee includes professional cleanings both before and after your stay (yahoo for you!). Bring your own bed sheets, bathroom and kitchen towels, or use mine for an extra laundry use fee (yahoo for you and me!). Babies who cannot walk or crawl are welcome, but otherwise there is a minimum age of 5 for all guests. Some pets are allowed for a pet fee, 55 lbs maximum per pet (if larger, discuss with owner for a possible waiver). Most dogs under 2 years of age or who bark frequently are not allowed. If the total weight for 2 or more pets is more than 55 lbs, then at minimum an additional (and potentially more) pet fee will be charged. At the time you book your stay, please send a message and let the owner know your pet's age, breed, weight, barking habits & degree of housebrokeness. The cabin's pet guidelines can be sent in advance to you if you'd like, and if you book a stay they'll be sent to you to confirm that you and your much loved furry pal can follow them. After you schedule a stay we'll talk live over the phone, then a customized contract (the same one VRBO makes available to you to download and read before scheduling your stay) will be sent to you for signature. Now, wasn't that all very interesting? No events, parties, disturbing of neighbors, boats on a trailer, or double-cab pickup trucks with a long bed allowed (too long for the parking area). Instead, come for quiet relaxation on the water, amazing stargazing on clear nights, and enjoyment of nature in this scenic and cozy waterfront log cabin located directly on the Chesapeake Bay.

If you want to get away from the noise, this is the place to go. Stargazing, beach combing, hiking trails, beautiful sunrises, bird watching, and only about an hour away from Washington, DC, etc. My husband and I came to the Navy Cabin for our 6 year anniversary. We had such a wonderful time, We will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful weekend at the log cabin overlooking the Chesapeake Bay! Everything we expected and more with the wood burning fireplace to keep us cozy on a winter getaway. Looking forward to spending more time in the summer to enjoy sitting on the deck in the sun and at night for more stargazing!

We love rustic, quiet, nature and history. This checked all the buckets. Beautiful sunrise, birds, critters and water. We only left the house to walk on the beach, go out to dinner and hit the Marine Museum. An absolutely lovely spot to decompress and get back to what's important. Brett was a fabulous host and communicator!

My husband and I had a marvelous stay at Brett's cabin by the Bay in the winter time. One of our favorite aspects of his cozy retreat is its hominess and maritime accents in the decor. With stunning views of the water from the deck that's fifty feet above the Bay, each day and evening offered fantastic bird watching and nature moments. Brett's cabin was clean and comfortable, and he thought of everything to make it a great place to relax and settle in--from a variety of cookware and dishes to soft towels and comfy sitting areas. The neighborhood was quiet, which was just what we were looking for. We really appreciated Brett's friendly and available communication when we had some questions, or when he let us know about something in advance. An all-around wonderful host! We can't wait to go back.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Brett's log cabin on the bay. The water views were the best! The cabin itself was cozy and had everything we needed. Our time there in Scientists Cliffs was so quiet and relaxing. Just what we needed!

We walked in.. headed right to the deck. I almost started to cry. You could not tell where the water ended and the sky began. Just like the description. A perfect place to unwind, relax and reset. The view from almost every window was amazing. The history of the community is fascinating. Yeah, it was a wee bit musty, but it's an old cabin on the water. Open the windows for a bit to air it out, and your golden. The bed was so comfortable. I actually slept, which is odd when I am away. My husband walked every morning, which is what he does when he is on vacation. We found some cute little coastal towns for lunch and dinner. Brett was amazing from start (I rented it 6 months ago) to finish. He was quick to respond any time I had a question. I want to visit this cabin in every season. I'd love to cozy up by the fire in the Winter. I hated to leave. We saw a bald eagle, and so many birds. The night sky was brilliant. It's not often you see so many stars. I highly recommend a stay at The Navy Cabin!! Thank you Brett!

We loved the view and property. Fascinating cabin. It was a little musty but that is to be expected of a wood cabin that is close to 100 years old. All three of us enjoyed watching the water and rages/ospreys sitting on the tall tree above the cabin. We had long discussions as to if they were bald eagles or ospreys. In the end we decided they were beautiful and it really didn’t matter. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. I recommend it. My brother in law saw a picture and is eager to come visit. He is an architect and loved the pictures of the cabin. He also loves the bay. Thank for the opportunity to stay at Bre’s cabin.
