Romantic Somers Bay Boathouse with Dock
About this cabin rental
Located in Flathead Lake, this charming cabin for $250 per night is a great choice for your next break. This unique waterfront property is the last surviving boathouse with living quarters above it. From the road you will walk down a wooded path to a private incline tram system that will carry you a hundred feet down to a world of lake shore living. When you get to the covered open-air deck, it is complete with a Weber gas BBQ, patio heater, table, chairs and a swing for two. In 2015 we added a new deck to the front of the Boathouse. Stepping through the sliding glass door you will see that the living level is decorated with fishing motif. In the corner is a wood stove which can be enjoyed from the overstuffed sofa-bed. The kitchen is well-furnished with cooking utensils and all appliances except for a dishwasher. There is an adorable bath with shower only. Up the winder staircase is a loft bedroom with queen bed and step-in closet plus a dormer niche with a bench. The Boathouse now has Smart TV and WIFI !!!!!!!!!!!! The boathouse level is totally private. The lower level with the dock and lake area of the property is shared with the property owners and their guests occasionally. You have your own boat slip and have full access to the dock, beaches, swim area and swim ladders. Guests may enjoy having a bonfire in the fire pit when there are no fire restrictions, though you will have to provide your own wood. The lakefront also has a romantic footbridge, patio area with picnic table. You are welcome to use the canoe, paddle boat and (2)kayaks which are easily launched from the beach area. Somers Bay Boathouse is conveniently located: 12 miles west of Bigfork which has live theater and dining; an hour from Glacier Park; 10 miles from historic downtown Kalispel; 5 miles from Lakeside which has a grocery store and dining; great restaurants are within 5 minutes driving toward downtown Somers. The street above the boathouse is part of a biking/walking path which takes you to historic Somers. Please call or e-mail if you have any questions or would like to see additional photos.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It had everything you need and comfy bed. Perfect location to get to Glacier, Kalispell, Whitefish, Big Mountain. Beautiful sunrises on the lake and Lakeview from bed. Karen was east to communicate with. Would highly recommend this rental.

Great spot for a quiet relaxing getaway on the water. The owners take great care of the place and were very kind and helpful. Place is well stocked with everything you could need.

This is the perfect place to stay with a teenager. I would stay here every time we come back. Do not bring a toddler or young children as this is not a spot for youngers. That being said, my son is 16, and the wife and I loved fishing, kayaking and sitting on the porch chatting it up. We had some family come down and ate dinner on the docks as well as watched the storm form the covered porch. Amazing property. If I were to critique the property I would say replace the main bed, as it was a bit uncomfortable, and replace the toilet as it was a bit hard to flush. That being said, I am rating this a A+ rental and grateful for the experience. We will be back.

Had a really great, relaxing 2 days with our kids - was a perfect break after a very active week in Glacier NP. Did a lot of swimming, rock throwing, and swinging on the porch swing. Boat house was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Waking up to the incredible view was so lovely. Thanks for a great stay - looking forward to coming back sometime.

This property is amazing! The view and location are perfect for a nice gateway. It exceeded our expectations. My only real concern is that if someone has a walking issue or disability it’s cumbersome to get from road to funicular. Other than that it was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend to anyone. Loved watching all the boats and especially the sailboats.

The boat house was so unique! Right on the water with awesome views. Check in and out was super easy. Had everything we needed. Loved the porch swing on the covered deck looking at the lake. Location is good spot as base camp for Glacier and offers other things to do besides hiking. Would come here again for sure.

We put two people in the bed in the loft, two people on the sofa bed and two on a blow up mattress Karen provided. One of the main reason I gave 5 stars is because of how clean everything was. I was worried we would walk in to an old musty smell (being so close to the water) but ABSOLUTELY not. The house was nice and cool and smelled wonderful. This was huge for me! The linens and towels smelled fresh too.
The views are amazing and Karen was a wonderful host. Wonderful neighborhood and my kids (13,11,11) loved the ride down to the house from the parking. Definitely not recommended for younger children as there are plenty of places they could get hurt. I highly recommend this place and we can not wait to go back.
