Nothing. The hotel room was dirty when we arrived and they didn't clean it. After we complained they didn't do anything. We were frustrated so we checked out a day early and they refused to refund for the third night.

Buffets du soir et petit dejeuner tous froids. Piscine et jacuzzy en travaux, onsen privés en travaux, sento (onsen public) interdit aux personnes tatouées. Le onsen privé sur le balcon ne fonctionnait pas. Quand on s'est plaint à la direction ils ont annulé notre réservation en déclarant un no-show en disant qu'ils nous rembourseraient. Apres plusieurs mails et appels via le service client booking l'hôtel fait le mort et refuse de nous rembourser.

Seen some reviews going in but the standard of the place is what you except for Japan with cleaning. You’re paying for the experience and it is well worth it! Definitely recommend the rooms with the hot spring bath! Was the highlight for us.
The property is surrounded by forest at the rear, so you’ll get bugs but we also spotted birds and wild deer, part of the charm of staying on a world heritage island.
Staff were beyond helpful and lovely, I would suggest ignoring the reviews and enjoy the stay. The fact you can walk down from the hotel and have food overlooking the Grabd Torii and ocean is well worth it!

Quiet and tucked away from the busy touristy street. Nice onzen tub on the balcony.
The staff didn't realize that the tatami setup was missing which is where the 3rd person sleep. The staff kinda scrambled to make it work but it seemed like there was some internal communication/confusion as to how many people were staying in my room which I communicated in advance to the hotel with my booking. The front desk manager resolved it quickly for me though.

La ubicación que marca en booking es incorrecta, en realidad está a unos 100m subiendo la calle.
Cogimos media pensión (cena y desayuno). Era tipo buffet libre, que estaba bien… pero fácilmente mejorable. La bebida no estaba incluida.

Die Lage ist klasse keine 5 min gerade aus und man ist auf der Einkaufsstraße, in 10min ist man an den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten.
Das eigene Becken auf dem Balkon war auch schön nach einem anstrengenden Tag und die Betten bequem.
Das essen, vor allem das Frühstück, waren super.
Das Hotel hat an vielen Stellen eine Renovierung nötig und ist auch an einigen stellen nicht so sauber (Betten, Klo, Dusche und ähnliches werden aber ordentlich geputzt).
Das Abendessen Angebot könnte teilweise wärmer sein.

部屋の雰囲気は、写真の通りの和モダンで広さも十分、よかった。
抑えられた価格の中で、要所で良い時間を過ごせるよう、空間作りが朔風されている。
フロントの、東南アジア系のと思われるスタッフが、キビキビと対応がよかった。
洗面所はやや狭く、尿のようなにおいが若干気になった。
バスルームは良いとは言えないが、大浴場を利用したので使用しなかった。
建物は何かを改修したらしく、床に不自然な出っ張りかあったりするが、気になるほどではない。
大浴場の冷水器前にクモの巣があって通れない状態のままだったり、プールは使用していない時期とはいえ掃除が投げやりだったり、と、共用部は掃除が行き届ききれていない部分もあった。

No clean towels at disposition, they had to give me a mop for my shower. This is scandalous for an hotel, even more for a really expensive one.
There is no isolation, we can ear every thing from every direction.
Japanese staff was sufficient, and not even trying to speak English and not helpful at all.
It is a shame for the Japanese hospitality.
Don't give money to people who don't want to earn it.

The hotel was expensive but offers a great experiment and the luxury to enjoy Miyajima on the evening, without the crow and enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the island. To room was huge and very clean, the bed very confortable.
The hotel have a whole floor dedicated to well-being, with a salon, onsen, exterior pool, rock bath, karaoke room... That you can access anytime on the opening hour. They have also kimono at disposition at the entry, a little shop on the 1st floor.
The staff is nice but does not speak english, so be careful if you don't speak japanese.

I loved the location and the price, and the private onsen inside the room was absolutely lovely. The staff was super nice and I loved that everyone took their shoes off inside. The room was so cute and it was so conveniently located! There was free water and there were vending machines on the property.
There was a cockroach in the room. ): We were able to catch and release it but it gave me a little scare and made me worried for the overall cleanliness. The beds were also a little hard. But I would definitely still return!! I understand that in extreme heat it is hard to keep roaches out.

Great breakfast and dinner - lots of choices, for even the fussiest of diners. Very close to everything, walked everywhere and was very impressed with the attention to detail by the staff. The whole family loved our stay, we would definitely return.

Itsukushima is a beautiful place to be and stay but not in this hostel or it will give you a bad experience.
We leaved the hostel after 1 night (we booked for 4 nights). We are a family of 3 members, the youngest of us is 18 year old (a young woman). The room were for 2 people not for 3. No place on the room to use futon, the shower in the livingroom so no privacy at all and the restaurant aren't clean. No documentation in English are available, this is not a real problem but it added to the bad experience.
Despite the fact that at our floor, we have one of the biggest room, it was really small. The photographies aren't accurate.

Room was very spacious and outdoor private onsen was nice. It was only a short walk to the food stalls and shopping street.
Facilities felt dated and not clean. Robes were provided in the room but they felt old and not very clean. The facility felt understaffed. Bins near vending machine were full of rubbish left with extra trash left next to the bins before we left for a stroll in the afternoon. We came back a few hours later in the evening and noticed that the same bins had not been cleared and even more rubbish was just left in a pile next to the overflowing bins. This was a little off-putting in a Ryokan/Resort style accommodation where shoes are to be put away at the lobby.

Nothing really.
Dated and tatty. Facilities advertised not available. Room stank of smoke and as mine smokers this was really offensive. No staff spoke English, so no point in requesting a room change. Minimal signage in English, especially in operating equipment. Shoes had to be removed at the entrance and their reused slippers worn. These were all one size - to big for me and too small for my adult sons. As a result this was quite a hazard walking safely especially on stairs.

The buffet dinner is a must at 4400 yen! Shabu-Shabu on demand that would have cost a fortune elsewhere and all you can eat Sashimi. The onsen in the room was fantastic and the room was very spacious. Staff don’t speak English. it did their best to help out using apps etc.
Could hear everything outside the rooms and the floor above. No sound proofing at all so would not be great if you have kids or want some privacy. The provided shoes were tiny and didn’t fit my husband or myself. Some dust around bottom of furniture, not well cleaned but not too bad.

Of two 3 week trips to Japan, this has been our most disappointing stay. The indoor Onsen lacked atmosphere but was the only plus to the stay.
I would have thought during covid shutdown the facilities could have been cleaned and freshened up, but there were large dust bunnies, water stains etc. After long days out, it was quite a walk. Unlike other properties in this price range there was no courtesy car either. We also had to make our own beds (and the futons were thin). The wifi was weak.

The physical location had the potential to be quite charming and was clean. One staff member, who was junior to another and directed to try to deal with my concerns, was exceedingly diligent in using his translation app to communicate with me, since my app would not work with the WiFi connection being poor in the lobby.
It was not completely obvious that meals could not be added to the booking upon arrival. I did not have the chance to have dinner. This meant my meal was a purchase from the "gift" shop and eaten in my room, and very limited. The breakfast time that was offered was too late related to my departure.
I was given a room that was not as described in my booking. It did not have a hot tub. Although I could not show the following, the booking site also showed standard beds, not futons. I was more unhappy about the lack of hot tub, which was pictured on the booking site, and also in some literature in the hotel. I felt the answers I was given were meant as almost mistruths to stop me from pursuing things. Then I was offered a room that would match my wish, so they said, if I chose to pay another 20000JPY. THAT was like paying for a second room and well above what the rate for the first one.
To top it off, no pets were allowed on the property, according to the booking site confirmation. My last complaint was that I had a bonus in my room; a pet corral all set up with the housekeeping to go with it, which was not on my request. I am not adverse to animals, but it occupied a corner of space and wasn't needed by me. I have photos. It seemed like perhaps it would be removed, but even that did not occur.
In summary, I think there is a big gap between what the booking site stated and what the facility provided. I feel distrustful of using a booking site in the future. On the booking, one is offered a chance to ask the facility questions in advance, but a response never came.
There was a morning staff member who had some ability to speak English. I suspect he might have handled things differently should he have been on duty on the evening of my arrival.
