A peaceful haven with great service

The gardens and the peace were beautiful. Impossible to believe we were inside a city. The service was fabulous and the home cooked meals wonderful.

A home away from home.

The service was outstanding, the staff friendly and efficient. The meals excellent and catered to my special needs perfectly.

There was nothing to dislike, a pity my stay could not be extended because of personal family requests and duties.

Gorgeous space, delicious and healthy food, spa treatments, holistic health consciousness, warm and inviting staff, beautiful surroundings— it really was an unexpected little paradise.

A real relaxing treat and escape!

The friendly and supportive staff. The food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious! Unlimited access to the flotation pool and sauna is priceless! The garden that is beautifully kept, made for a relaxing and therapeutic experience. The yoga room and the pool, just great! The fact that they have spa treatment rooms! Oxford Healthcare Retreat Centre is truly a place to come relax, heal and restore. It's perfect for anyone wishing to escape! I felt so blessed.

The establishment is mostly wooden floors and the walls are thin, so, whether it's people talking downstairs, or it's music playing in another guest's room, sound travels easily, which can be disturbing when you're trying to sleep. Another thing is, if your room is close to the landing area upstairs, the scent of cooked food travels from the kitchen right up to your room so that too can be a disturbance.

it was heavenly!

Beautiful modern decor. It is so peaceful, right in Melrose. Amazing staff who cater to your every need. I was spoilt with Banting delicious treats and deserts. Very relaxing, the flotation pool and sauna included in the package were a dream. The yoga was so calming.

Spacious, tranquil and calm.

Rooms are spacious, bed probably the best I've had at a hotel. Staff are really excellent. Spa facilities are top - spacious and comfortable. It's not like a typical spa where you feel rushed to use the facilities - there was plenty of space and time.

We went there for peace and quiet, unfortunately the neighbors had a party with loud music which ruined the tranquility of the afternoon and evening (Saturday). They stopped promptly at 10pm, and there's not much that could have been done about it, but it did affect our stay. It's probably a lot quieter during the week. Meals were not very substantial, although they were excellent. There's a sign up to remind guests not to use phones in common areas so as not to disturb guests, but staff didn't follow this rule.

Best for total rejuvenation

It’s central but serene, lush lawn, birds, beautiful garden, safe and spacious. The food is Healthy and delicious and is full board. All the staff are professional and helpful.

Exceptional

Highly recommend OHR. The facilities and team are geared to help you de-stress and restore your energies. From personalized daily programs to healthy meals, they take care of it all. Special mention of the staff, who are exceptional with their care and attention to detail. The space is quiet and serene, as well as, centrally located. The rooms are well equipped and spacious. There are several shared spaces available which add to the allure. Will definitely be back again.

This is a gem. Amazing property and people and location. Feels like an oases in the middle of the city. Can find rest for your soul. Amazing food.
