Sleeping Configuration Lower Level Bedroom 1 – Sleeps 5 in 1 twin over twin bunk and 1 twin over double bunk, shared bathroom with adjoining door Media Room - Sleeps 1 in twin sleeper sofa Mid Level Bedroom 2 – Sleeps 2 in king bed, ensuite bathroom Upper Level Bedroom 3 – Sleeps 2 in queen bed, ensuite bathroom Bedroom 4 – Sleeps 2 in queen bed, ensuite bathroom Joie De Vivre Joie de Vivre (or "Joy of Living") is a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life; an exultation of spirit. That's the way we feel about the Lookout at Lake Chelan and about our home. Joie de Vivre, completed in 2016, is a spacious three story, 3,095 sq. a . home with four bedrooms and four full baths with expansive views of Lake Chelan from our two lakeside decks and patio. The original third story bedroom window was changed to a large deck for guests to enjoy a more encompassing view while sunbathing, hanging out, or star gazing. We feel the view is breathtaking from the third floor and we all agree it is our favorite part of the home. The inverted floor plan has the master and living room/dining/kitchen on the second floor to enjoy the expansive views while cooking, watching TV, or just relaxing by the gas fireplace. There are several stately poplar trees that filter the view during the summer months, none the less, I think you will all agree that the views are still incredible, and it is relaxing on a breezy day to watch the trees sway in unison with the wind. The dining room table has seating for 10 with six chairs and a full-length bench. The table and bench were custom made in Portland and use repurposed wood that came from the Oregon State Hospital in Salem (think where they filmed "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"). There are four bar chairs along the island bar to provide additional seating. While keeping the idea of the guests' comfort and enjoyment in mind, we also made changes to the first floor eliminating one of the bedrooms and creating a larger media room. This area has electronics (65" HDTV, X-Box One, and DVD library), an 8 ft. slate pool table, an assortment of games and puzzles, and two sets of sliding doors leading out to a lovely patio and a small courtyard with expansive lake views. The first floor also has a bunk room for the kids that sleep five. We thank you for choosing Joie de Vivre. Enjoy life and have fun. Dogs are allowed at Joie de Vivre. Excellent, however the TV was a disappointment. No instructions on how to access net flix, or other entertainment channels. If net flix was not available to us, then that is a disappointment. Kitchen cooking equipment, great.

Joi De Vivre was just the right size for our two families and one corgi! The location was convenient to the wedding venue, Chelan, and local walking trails. We utilized the Lookout hot tub and pickleball courts. There were bicycles available in the garage but no helmets, therefore the guest mostly likely to ride wouldn't because of a previous bike accident.

The house was beautiful and wonderfully located. HOWEVER, the pictures on the website are VERY old and outdated. We were expecting to see the lake (why we chose the house we did) and instead found no lake view due to the trees that had grown up tall, blocking the lake view. False advertising is VERY disappointing. Also, the fridge doors need some work, they kept popping open. With that said, we did enjoy our time there, the house had a great layout for our group and it was clean and tidy. I would recommend this location to others but I also recommend that the pictures be updated!

We loved the house. It was equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect. We did have a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. Just so you can get it fixed. It was the room upstairs on the north side. We also had some trouble keeping the refrigerator door on the right closing.Other than that the house was in perfect condition.

This was our 3rd summer in a row staying at Joie De Vivre. The house is perfect for our group. Great size so everyone is comfortable, great location to the pool and beach. We love the outdoor space for dinners at night. We only wish they had better pans - please get at least a pasta pot so we can make mac and cheese for the kids.

My family has visited the Lookout for years as we love Chelan. Overall, we loved this house - very comfortable and useful living room sectional; patio and porchs/balconies were great; very dog friendly and dog safe (even though these dog owners left their dogs at home). Improvement suggestions: (1) repair sink fixtures in upstairs bathroom with the queen bed; (2) repair front gate latch which doesn't work; (3) add more hooks in bathrooms to hang clothes; (4) repair ice maker which drops ice into unsanitary bottom of fridge instead of in the ice tray. The house was supposed to be ready at 4pm, but we didn't get access to the house until 5:30 while cleaning was finished from the previous tenants. We were going to rebook a house for next summer but your prices have gone up so much that we will probably look for other alternatives, sadly. Your 2022 prices were already increased considerably from your 2021 prices.

Joie de Vivre does not disappoint!
This house is a convenient location both for the surrounding area and within The Lookout community. This home is close to one of the community pools and the access road to the basketball/ pickleball court and the beach. A small park area is being developed across the street from the house which will be nice when completed.
The homeowners were thoughtful in the way the house is put together. There are many seating options both indoors and out. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and cookware to use, including large bowls for mixing or serving a large salad. Each bathroom is stocked with plenty of towels; a few beach towels are also available. The view up lake is nice, especially from the third floor deck.
This rental is a great place for families and groups of friends. It is not a good choice for anyone with serious physical limitations due to the number of stairs between each floor.
We would rent this house again!

Spacious and great location
Pros: Joie de Vivre is a great house to share with multiple families. Large bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and plenty of outdoor space made this house feel very spacious. Location within the Lookout is good with easy access to the upper pool and the shuttles to take you down to the lake. Cons: need more dishwasher & laundry pods (they only provided 3 of each in a house with 9 people for 6 days). Need to supply more paper towels and cleaning supplies in general. The drain in the upstairs bathroom was clogged and the slider on the shower door in the master bedroom was broken. Also, the auto lock on the front door was not functioning properly. We had to pull the door tightly toward us to get it to lock.

Highly recommend this house and the Lookout at Lake Chelan. We had 11 people in this house (4 kids) and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids loved the bunkroom. We loved the great views and dinners out on the balcony. It is a quick drive to Chelan and you have access to two pools and the beach. The beach area was great for the little kids. We will definitely be back!!!

Thank you for opening up your home! It was very spacious. Each bedroom had a full bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and serving utensils. Centrally located. The shuttle to the beach was only steps away. The pool was close too!
We had to call the front desk 2 times for more TP, garbage bags, dish soap and laundry detergent. They were quick to reply and bring them. Maybe next time, you can leave more so we don't have to call.

This is a beautiful, large home. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids and had plenty of space, with two king bedrooms, one queen bedroom, a bunk room, and 4 full bathrooms. The king beds/double sink baths are on the top floor overlooking the lake, and on the same floor as the kitchen in the front of the house facing the neighborhood . The deck on the third floor gets full sun with amazing views of lake. An amazing spot to relax. The July review notates a lot of construction noise and hassle, but the home down the street was mostly complete when we were there and we had little impact. There is a "future park" across the street and the neighbors are pretty close. The amenities at the Lookout are great. This home is located near to the stop for the ATV ride down to the lakefront beach, which was very convenient.
