Home sleeps up to 6 guests A classic Carmel cottage in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood, just blocks from downtown Carmel by-the-Sea, allows visitors to enjoy a peaceful retreat while at the same time providing easy access to superb shopping and dining. This 1,620 sf, 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence, completely updated yet with traditional handcrafted touches throughout, harkens back to Carmel’s historic past while providing modern conveniences for guests. A flagstone path leads to the front door, past Australian ferns and flax, with live oaks and Monterey pines giving graceful notes to the landscape. The split-level residence includes a kitchen, primary bedroom and living room above and two bedrooms below, and is pet-friendly. The back yard has lovely new landscaping with a large Carmel stone fire pit which is perfect for relaxation and entertainment. In addition to being within a few minutes’ walk of downtown Carmel by-the-Sea and a 10-minute walk to the ocean, the house is just a half hour by car from the natural beauty of Big Sur, 10 minutes from the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach® and 10 minutes from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. The eclectic décor in autumn shades of moss green, brown, red and gold includes handmade furniture by the owners' son and original artwork by the owners’ daughter. Arts and Crafts style pieces blend with comfortable couches and chairs in the living room, arranged around the wood-burning Carmel stone fireplace with gas kindler to make a natural gathering point for friends and family. A 50-inch HDTV is mounted above the fireplace. There is an integrated entertainment system TV, DVD, internet, Apple TV with easy-to-use single console. Large windows let in ample light, and wood floors can be found in the kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen includes new appliances in brushed nickel, as well as granite counter tops and stove back splash, a large, divided sink with pullout faucet, and a Thermador six-burner gas cook top. The farmhouse dining table seats six near a bay window. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Upstairs, Bedroom #1 includes a king bed, large armoire with an HDTV, en suite bath with Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and a walk-in closet, as well as a private balcony with seating for two overlooking the back yard which is the perfect place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. All bedrooms feature neutral-toned Berber carpeting and cloth Roman shades for windows which filter light and provide privacy. The two bedrooms downstairs offer comfort and privacy. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds that can convert to a split king with foam topper, allowing for sleeping options and direct access to the grassy back yard through double French doors. Bedroom #3 has a queen bed. Each bedroom includes chairs and large closets. The bedrooms share a Jack and Jill style bathroom between them with tile floors and counter tops in addition to a large mirror and tub-shower combination with a steam shower. Parking and storage for beach gear is available in a single-car garage next to the house. Two car maximum at this home, carpooling may be necessary. Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. This vacation home is professionally managed by Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. With over 15 years of property management experience, Sanctuary strives to provide environments that nurture and inspire with all the comforts of home. This is a very nice property, and we enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable. The only recommendation we would have is the carpeting in the master bedroom is in need of replacement. Everything else in the home met our expectations.

I rented "Blue Skies" for the month of December to enjoy the beautiful weather and other things Carmel has to offer. This home offered enough room for my kids to drop in and spend some time with me, and its beautiful backyard enable my dogs and I to launch onto multiple walks every day followed by naps in the afternoon sun. The home is amazing and very spacious. The master upstairs is terrific and its balcony enables a morning cup of coffee, serenity, and beautiful views. All the rooms are top rate and very comfortable. Add a first rate kitchen, dinning room, washer/dryer, and a few TVs and it spells a fantastic visit. For those new to Carmel, the location of Blue Skies also provides easy walking access to most of the town's great restaurants. Located on a quiet street (you can hear the waves crashing against the shore in the evening) within easy walking distance to downtown Carmel combined with quick access to Highway 1 for nearby shopping. Don Cherry Community Center is one block away, which provides some intimate entertainment options. Similarly, you're within easy walking distance of The famed Forest Theatre which features plays, musicals and feature films in a quaint outdoor setting. Property management company does a superb job of attending to all your needs/questions.

Charming, Cozy, and Convenient Home in Carmel
My husband and I spent the month of July last summer at this very charming house in Carmel. We had a wonderful time. The house is almost like new inside with every needed convenience. One of the most important things for us, too, is that it's an easy 5. Minute walk to town and a nicely challenging 10 minute walk back. We love to walk to the Bruno's, the legendary all-purpose Carmel store, for the newspaper and croissants each morning.
The house is exactly like it is pictured and is beautifully maintained and the kitchen had everything we needed. Candace, the manager, is extremely nice and helpful. We had a small problem with one of the kitchen lights and their maintenance man was there within the hour.
I would recommend Blue Skies to anyone wanting to spend time in Carmel. It's lovely.

Gorgeous home right in the heart of Carmel.
Had an amazing time staying at this incredibly beautiful home in Carmel. It was the perfect getaway from home and walking distance to all the amazing shops and restaurants in downtown Carmel. We were just a close drive from the Pebble Beach Golf Course where we went to the AT&T Pro-AM Golf Tournament. I would recommend this vacation home to any family or couple looking for a lovely stay in the most beautiful city in CA!

CHARMING HOME CLOSE TO TOWN AND BEACH
This is a cozy, well appointed home with attractive furniture, a kitchen that is spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly need and large master bedroom with a super comfortable bed and roomy bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The other two bedrooms are conveniently located on lower level and also beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent this property again. The management company was attentive and helpful when we had questions.

I was able to run from the house down to the jogging paths that go along the ocean and it made for a spectacular jog. The paintings done by the daughter accented the Spanish-style architecture of the house. The owner was readily accessible and provided wonderful customer service when I had to reach him because I had the wrong key to open the door. The owner took the initiative to coordinate with the property managers and resolve my problem. It was all done in a very professional manner. While staying at this property, I enjoyed the mediterranean restaurant, Yafa and the oil and vinegar shop called Trio Carmel. I fell in love with all of the oils and vinegars that you can use in your cooking. I would completely recommend this property to a friend or relative.

The only place to stay in Carmel
I have been fortunate enough to stay at Blue Skies on a few occasions. Beautiful home, spacious, tastefully decorated, warm, and has all the amentities one needs. Besides the home itself, you are walking distance to downtown Carmel and all this amazing town has to offer. Highly recommend and will be staying there again very soon.

Charming getaway
Wow, amazing location! Loved this spacious house and it's proximity to all the shops, restaurants, and of course the beach. The owners have really kept it tidy and the decor made me feel right at home. I also like the large bathrooms.

Spacious home in a amazing location!
Beautiful property! Stayed here for the long weekend and had an amazing time. We were very impressed with the decor as well as the high quality linens and towels that were provided. The bed was very comfortable and steam shower in the attached bathroom to the bedroom was delightful. The location was amazing, it was an easy walk to reach all the great shops and restaurants in the town. We will be booking Blue Skies again next time we return to Carmel By the Sea!
