Sleeps 6 A modern rustic home with luxurious and designer accents throughout. Ocean views from its master bedroom suite, easy indoor-outdoor living, game room for the kids, and a backyard firepit to gather with family and gaze at the stars make this home a perfect family getaway.. The 1,665 sf, 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence is all-new construction by Hansen Hall design, with custom luxury features that include marble countertops, recessed lighting, radiant heating and a whole-house Sonos sound system. At the same time, it's offering the ambiance of eras past, with a vaulted ceiling with distressed wood beams, stacked stone fireplaces and porcelain wood-look flooring throughout. “Ohana” is the Hawaiian word for family, and this is the perfect place for reconnecting with family and friends. Designed for indoor/outdoor living, the pet-friendly home is on a fully fenced lot with tall shrubs in the back for privacy. Adjacent to the backyard patio is a 207-square-foot detached game room, where youngsters can hang out and play video games or foosball. The home, in a quiet neighborhood near Forest Hill Park, is just 4 blocks to town and a few minutes walk to the beach as well as fine dining, art galleries and shopping in downtown Carmel. It’s also just 10 minutes by car to world-class golfing and restaurants in Pebble Beach®, to Monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village. The heart of the home is a great room that includes living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room features a vaulted open beam ceiling and a stacked-stone gas fireplace, surrounded by cozy upholstered furniture, great for just hanging out or watching the 60-inch HDTV. In one corner is a game table that converts to a felt top as needed. The kitchen features marble countertops and custom cabinetry, with high-end appliances that include a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator and an Italian-made gas stove, as well as a deep farmhouse sink and custom tile backsplash. The adjacent dining room features a table for 10. French doors from both the kitchen and living room lead to the backyard patio, surrounded by trees and shrubs. A gourmet gas grill is available for backyard barbecues along with an outdoor dining table and string lights. There’s comfortable seating around the fire pit, and the detached game room can be found on the other side of the patio. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Bedroom #1 is located upstairs and it is the primary bedroom suite which features ocean views through the treetops easily seen from the California king bed. Completing this romantic setting are a gas fireplace, 46-inch HDTV, en suite bath with marble-topped vanity, shower with custom tile and walk-in closet. Downstairs, Bedroom #1 and Bedroom #2 each have a queen bed and luxurious bedding. The bathroom on this level has a marble-topped vanity, large mirror and two-person shower with custom tile and removable showerhead. A stacked washer-dryer is in the hallway. 2 dedicated parking spots as well as street parking. Small well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. This vacation home is professionally managed by Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. With over 15 years of property management experience, Sanctuary strives to provide environments that nurture and inspire with all the comforts of home. Ohana by the Sea is a lovely home. It is well laid out maximizing the common areas while still managing to have a generous primary BR suite and 2 addl BRs. The outside patio with gas fire pit provides a lovely extension to the inside living space and we spent most of our time there. The house had a well equipped kitchen including some common spices. The couple of issues we had were dealt with quickly by the management company. There are only two drawbacks to this home, neither of which would prevent me from renting this home again: one is that it is on a fairly busy corner for truck traffic so the guest bedrooms can be a bit noisy in the morning for late sleepers and two is that the house is an uphill walk from the town and beach.

From the welcome to farewell and everything in between, Ohana by the sea was a delight. The house is perfectly appointed for cooking at home and is walking distance to downtown restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. Communication with friendly staff was easy when needed via text messages. The home and yard are nicely maintained - perfect for our 2 person stay and our two little dogs.

October 2020 Stay
The house was beautiful and had all the amenities you could think of including beach chairs and even a tent for the beach. The kitchen included Penzy’s spices and Sur la Table utensils and Cuisinart appliances with nice Italian gas stove. The fire pit was great at nite. Would absolutely recommend

The house was great, the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again. The master bedding was so comfortable and wonderful. I would have liked to know the ice maker in the fridge was broken for 6 weeks before moving in. I would have liked more of a sense of urgency when fixing the ant problem, which no one seemed to care about, and there should be instructions on how to use the coffee maker and oven, as they are Italian appliances and I had to google the manuals for each.

Lovely home
Ohana-By-The-Sea is a lovely home. It’s within easy walking distance of Ocean Avenue, and a comfortable walk to the ocean. (Note: it’s all uphill on the way home, though!)
The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings made for a very livable and cozy setting. With French doors off both the kitchen and living room to the backyard patio, the inside and outside flow beautifully. The fire-pit was a wonderful spot to hang out in the evening. The house is new construction so bathrooms and kitchen are well-appointed and spacious.

Beautiful house which was fully stocked. It had all the comforts of home from kitchen ware to extra blankets and dog treats. Appliances were top notch and the home even supplied beach chairs and umbrellas. It was nice to have the extra space outside to use as a home office. Would love to stay again at a future date.
